A whole year apart has passed for Ally and Caleb and it seems that he's moved on from their relationship, but Ally not so much. Ally was patient and waited, but it seems Caleb didn't have that patience. Will Ally find it in her to move on from Caleb or will she cling to the past in hopes of being together again.
Falling All Over Again Plot: While at a party, Ally meet’s Luke and it doesn’t take long for sparks to fly. The persistent Luke Heart makes it his mission to make this lovely lady his despite the fact that she’s taken. Or is she? While planning a trip home, Ally is told the sad truth that the guy she thought was hers has moved on and unknowingly (Been there). But what she isn’t counting on is her room-mate and friend Catlin has a surprise in store for her. It’s during this trip, that Ally and Luke bond and become even closer. Things are looking quite serious as the two date for months until Ally is hit with a blow and then an unexpected truth.
My Thoughts *The first thing that I found relatable about this book was the character Ally. Ally in the first chapter would clearly rather study than go out partying. Then when she does go to the party she’s ready to leave after a short while. As an introvert myself, I can relate to when an extrovert doesn’t understand that it’s just not how we’re wired and we sometimes prefer the solitude of rather than loud events. *Ally says she’s glad she listened to her mother and not stayed in a sorority? Was this a high school sorority? Because the sororities I’m aware of once you join you’re a member for life. You can become un-active by not attending the events but I don’t think you can formally denounce your membership. Well then, I guess you could, but I wonder what happened that was so terrible she didn’t stay in it. Or did she attempt to pledge and just didn’t go through with the process because of what she saw? (This may have been explained in other books, but this is the first one I read). *From the start, I like that Luke Heart is the kind of guy that doesn’t give up easily on what he wants. SO SO many men I know don’t possess the fight and are cowards and disappear EASILY at the threat of a little challenge that pops up at the initial stages in a pursuit. *And might I just say Vanilla Lattes are DELICIOUS!!! * He’s a little presumptuous tho. He already assumes she’s going to cook for him and there will be a date. Now that kind of boldness I can leave in a guy. Don’t be so assertive your cocky. I guess I just like the sweet type that ASKS me for a date, rather than just assume your gonna get one. Although on the opposite side of that argument it’s kinda sexy when a guy wants to claim you right off the bat and knows what he wants. Luke is kind of INTENSE! *And I can relate to Ally’s heartache 100% to have a guy tell you he loves you and then just have him move on with NO EXPLANATION is the most LOW DOWN, HEARTLESS, thing you can EVER do to someone! Thus, I already know I HATE Caleb before I’ve even met him! And Ally, it has NOTHING to do with your decision not to lose your virginity to him, because if that truly was the reason and he walked, then you made the RIGHT decision. Keep walking LOSER! I like Ally even more because she DIDN’T fall into pressure and was smart enough to wait! GOOD FOR YOU ALLY! *I’m actually kind of jealous! It’s the most ideal thing to already have someone and even if you haven’t give that impression like you’ve moved on and could give two what’s. It’s just a good vindictive feeling. Of course, this isn’t Ally’s reasoning for having Luke there, BUT it had to feel GOOD somewhere deep down. Actually, I wish I had someone that could do that. *Then we get this BS from Caleb “It was a sign that we weren’t meant to be when I saw how Catlin and everyone first reacted to the relationship with Ally.” Hunh? This sounds like he’s trying to throw the blame on Ally and that they just didn’t think she was the right girl for him. LIES! You said it right in the beginning of that statement. “I gave her hope about us getting back together, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen.” Yeah, Caleb, all on YOU! You lied to this lady and then found someone else to get some from. But I guess he couldn’t say that huh? *Ally’s parents are mad because of what? She’s not sitting around crying over Caleb and she’s moved on to someone else. She SHOULD move on to someone else. That OUGHT to be like THAT’S RIGHT! If I was her mom, I might be a LITTLE worried that she was moving on to the next guy so quick (and honestly, I know how quick guys who spark for your burns hot in the beginning and then weeks or months in their burnt out) but I’d also be giving her props at the same time. *Umm. Victoria is a DRAMA QUEEN and a WEAK one at that. If something like having to compete with an ex-girlfriend is enough to bring her two tears then she’s obviously insecure and doesn’t *really* have him. Which makes me even more convinced she’s just booty for Caleb. If I knew a man belonged to me I certainly wouldn’t be in tears because I thought I couldn’t compete with what he had in the past. Who is he with now? But in Victoria’s case, she even knows she’s just temporary. I wanna feel a *little* bad for her. He doesn’t even consider her important enough to let her into his past. But then I’m learning that males have this invisible wall that somehow lets them block stuff like details about their past to us without a second thought. So, I do feel a little bad for Victoria. Yeah, he should have told her his ex would be there. *But her insecurity makes her kind of ridiculous! Just makes me wonder how guys deal with women like this, but then again this is half the times the ones they want. Just what I see. *I do kind of like how Luke sneaks in that Ally is his girl. NICE! *Did I miss something? Why does she continue to stay at Catlin’s as long as she does? If my ex-was there with his new girl I personally wouldn’t have even stayed there a night. Took them far too long to decide to stay at Ally’s parents. *And then I liked the way Ally checked Victoria at the barbeque. *BOY BYE! (to Caleb) “I’m not thinking bout cho” (in the famous words of Beyoncé) *Umm so maybe this is just me. If I found out a guy I was dating was a prince. Girls in these ALWAYS over-react! Oh, I’m not good enough. I’m not princess material (sighing). Let me find out. Number one it’s rare (RARE) you find someone as good as Luke first of all. Luke goes out of his way to make sure Ally doesn’t have to spend a cent. Try to find that today dating these guys who don’t want to take you no damn where! Then what does it REALLY change he’s a prince. Sweetheart that’s an UPGRADE! Trust and believe! Ok so yes. If the mother didn’t care for me, maybe I’d be a little self-conscious. I might even think like Ally for a hot minute, but you know what. As women, I think sometimes we forget that after all the BS these men put us through that we DESERVE someone just exactly like Luke, who will make us princesses. So, it shouldn’t even have been a question to visit his kingdom and accept him. *I also kind of liked how she stood her ground and didn’t let the mother get the best of her with that little stunt with Cynthia and having her eat in the kitchen with the staff. She showed class in every situation the mother threw up at her. She came back and stood next to her man, she looked STUNNING at the dance, AND she believed in her talents and herself and won over the staff.
RATING:7 What it all boils down to is at the end of the day, I wish every girl (and woman) had a Luke Heart. The kind of stand up, assertive, bold, guy that wouldn’t walk away and treat us like a princess. Even make us one (in some of our fantasies). And I think Ally made the right choice. Her and Luke’s story and journey were quick, but it felt natural and genuine. Even a little cutesy at times. But what I got from this book was it’s more than ok to take chances and to follow your heart. And for the right person, you will ALWAYS be good enough! Trust in yourself and let your inner self-shine through. If you are into fairy tales this is a modern day one that might just be right your ally (pun intended).
