Questa fanfiction risulta come libro su goodreads com'è giusto che sia. Unreliable narrator ECCELLENTE, ha stuzzicato quella parte di me che a volte non sa bene il confine tra le mie convinzioni e la realtà dei fatti/la realtà di altre persone. Mi piace come sono stati integrati i social media e la stampa, questi hanno dato alla storia un'ulteriore dimensione.

I am sucker for enemies/rivals to lovers and slow burn. I've loved the anime and this fanfic complements it in the best way.

I don't think I've ever absolutely consumed a story this fast and with so much longing in my heart. This is the best kind of proof that fanfiction is not to be underestimated, and that slow burns are not tedious at all. I suppose I will last about an hour at most before I can't hold back on starting the continuation.

Dayum! It has been a while since I read this fast - I literally read the last 50% in one day and this fanfic is not a short read!
Originally I've watched Yuri On Ice anime back when it was coming out, circa 2016, but with the news of the film finally coming out soon (by soon we don't know the date, but probably in 2021), I couldn't not watch it again 4 years after and I loved it as much as before. So the only thing that was missing was for me to read some YOI based fanfictions.
Fanfiction was what got me interested in reading more and nowadays I do read more books that fanfiction - I basically read fanfics only from maybe 2012 until 2016 when I shifted to books instead. Fanfics will always have a space in my heart even though I don't gravitate to them as much this past few days.
Either way, this fanfic was such a good example of how people who really enjoy fandoms and write about them are as good as "official authors". I have read ALOT of fanfics, but this one is up there with the best ones for sure!
One thing that always makes me more focused while reading fanfics is the fact that we already know the characters and we connect to them, so even if the story is 180º change from the canon, it's still enjoyable because you know the characters. In my opinion, this fanfic works so good because 1st I already know all the people in it, and 2nd the fact that it's so close to the original material that it could be canon, except the big fact of Yuuri and Viktor not having a good relationship from the beginning.
In this fanfic you follow Yuuri throughout the years and how his skating career starts until basically he is 23 years - which is the age he has in the original anime. In this fanfic Yuuri actually hates Vikor for most of the story and it's very angsty I should say.
Loved the bits were both Yuuri and Viktor were together and how their relationship evolved through the years until they finally got together for good.
Since this is an enemies to lovers story and it's very slow burn to top it, it's so satisfying to see them grow and how Yuuri felt through his career (NOTE: There is also the same story from Viktors point of view which I'll try to read soon, and by trying is me wanting to read all the other books I've already started before the end of the year xD)
Even though this is quite lenghty, I flew through it since I wanted to know what would happen next. All the times that Yuuri and Viktor competed together were so satisfying to read since so much was in stake and how Yuuri always wanted to win over Viktor. .
Also, can't forgot the mention all the steamy scenes - fanfic writers overall are always really good writing them really! Some steamy quotes:
""I hate you" Yuri breathed, knowing the sentiment was returned wholeheatedly, and it felt good to finally say the words out loud after so long. "Now fuck me"."
"Viktor kissed like he skated, with a burning intensity that consumed Yuuri completely, searing into his soul."
"Viktor was still kissing him gently, too soft, not enough. Yuuri hadn't come here for gentle. He had come for hot and rough and needy, to vent his emotions onto Viktor and allow the other man to do the same the way that they had done before."
""Don't hold back." he heard Viktor say and the other man's face swam into focus, as beautiful as ever, gaze fixed on Yuuri. "Let me hear you"."
Overall, I really enoyed reading this and can't wait to read Viktor's perspective since there is alot to unravel from his point of view. Also, it has the final conclusion to the story!

in the last few days I didn't even exist outside of this fanfiction so of course I am going to expose myself and put it among my 2026 reading.
Yuri on Ice is the piece of media that finally made me lose it again! Yay! And 16 year old me would be so proud I went back to my roots (ignoring all my duties in favor of reading about gay people doing gay things).

When I was reading this I was really addicted. I read it every second I had and when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it ---same for the other one which is Viktors POV.
I haven't even seen the anime to which this fanfic is written lol.
Anyways, it was great I'd recommend, even if it's a fan fiction that is definitely a fan fiction.

This was an absolute masterpiece, easily the best fanfic I’ve read regardless of fandom.
The way that Reiya captured all of the beauty and endearment of the anime, but infused so much heartache and pining in there too 🥺 I’m a mess

So good!! I've read this series twice now and i'm trying to tell myself that I don't need to read it a third time bt let's be real I'm probably going to. I love a slow burn and the author really delivered. Do yourself a favor and if you're a fan of yuri/viktor please read it.
