Maya and Taylor are two star crossed lovers from two different worlds. Maya is an aspiring singer who comes from a world of privilege and is eager to explore the world outside the walls of her family home. Taylor comes from a world of struggle which includes a mother who is a recovering drug addict and an absentee father. Maya is also heterosexual while Taylor is a proud member of the LGBTQ community. When their worlds collide unexpectedly, there is no shortage of romance, violence, and drama. Both young women are ultimately faced with the decision to follow their heart or do what they think will make others around them happy.
Will their budding romance survive? Follow Maya and Taylor on a journey through both of their eyes as they re-live the summer that changed both of their lives forever.
Kind of crazy to remember your senior year and all of the crazy emotions that went along with it. The questions of how you are going to move forward with your life and the pressures from others. Add a sexual identity crisis and you have all the ingredients for an amazing rollercoaster ride. There are some spelling and grammar errors and some parts where it seems they were written by someone else. Other than that it's a great read.
I have to be honest on my quest to find a good book with lesbian main first person characters I bypassed this book MANY times , why ? I do not know but I was definitely cheating me self in a major way , I loved this book , the author did a great job pulling me in and keeping me there ❤️
I enjoyed this very true to life coming of age story. I think is an eye opening look into the heartache and confusion that many go through when they discover they have an affection for the same sex.
No HEA but a good story with real life overtones for the characters in the book. Love doesn’t conquer truth and immaturity. I hope that it doesn’t end here.
These characters were so relatable and even though Mya got on my nerves I knew deep down inside her parents would have excepted her she would have been Taylor’s gf long before any of the nonsense that occurred happened. Hopefully in the next installment we will get a happy ending between the two. Together or apart.
