This issue is essentially a substantial expansion of Endangered Architecture: The Work of Bernt Nyberg. New content includes an essay by Wilfred Wang that situates Nyberg's work within the context in which it was produced, deeper coverage of Nyberg's work, color photos, and the inclusion of original drawings produced by Nyberg's office. Essays and project descriptions previously published in Endangered have in some instances been reworked for inclusion here; however, not all material has not been carried over from the catalog.
Unfortunately, between the release of these two publications, more of Nyberg's work has been lost. Part of his and Koistinen's City Stoneworkers Workshop and Storage complex has been demolished. Other works still languish in disrepair. The Villa Palm and the Anatomy & Histology Building still stand essentially as designed. Hopefully its publication in a+u will encourage the preservation of the works that remain.
