Such a nice book, collecting essays originally published in the Adirondac magazine. Each essay deals with one species or genus of plants, mostly herbaceous, but with some shrubs and trees as well, arranged by season. The essays are not in great depth, but each one includes interesting observations the author has made and/or information from botany books and other outside sources. There is a wonderful list of "Selected References" in the back.
Good for anyone interested in plants of the northeastern U.S. or of upstate New York in particular.
