Understanding the New Covenant: A Simple Introduction to New-Covenant Theology

Rate this book
As a Christian, what is your understanding of the New Covenant? Have you realised how important it is in your relationship with God? More than that, how it affects the depths of your fellowship with Him in Christ? The author starts by indicating the basic foundation of the Covenant in the first Chapter. He then goes on to explain that those who do not see themselves as ‘theologians’ are in fact already theologians. All of us have some concepts of God and the things of God, that’s what theology is, but some remain very poor theologians.. “Understanding the New Covenant” is aimed at making us better theologians. We are invited to look at the two major ‘Systems’ – frameworks of understanding how the Old and New Testaments fit together. Then how New Covenant Theology makes more sense. He then looks at what he calls ‘some nonsense’ – false understandings. Finally he points to the radical nature of NCT and the exciting possibility of a New Reformation in the coming days.

Succinct

The author wrote this introduction to NCT clearly and succinctly. He used language that anybody can understand. I would recommend this book to those who know nothing about NCT, or have heard pejorative statements about NCT.

Illuminating

I read this with hopes of gaining clarity and it did provide some clarity, but not enough to convince me to adhere to it wholly…yet.
