This isn't a fairytale romance or for the faint of heart. Deep in the hills of Drag Creek Kentucky, there is a group of outlaws, whose love of moonshine and Harley Davidson runs through their blood. We are known as the Black Rebel Riders' MC.
For the past twenty years my club has been at war with a rival MC, The Devil's Rejects.

**As of February 25th 2019 Grim has been rewritten and had 12 thousand additional words added**
Disclaimer* If you are easily offended by hot, dirty biker books, then this is not the book for you. However if you love panty melting alpha males with a mouth on them then this book is for you ;) I just hit publish!!!
Unfortunately, I could not connect with this story at all. It had a lot of editing issues, lack of punctuation, etc. I can overlook little things, but I had even more issue with the dialogue. Grim is a biker and so he speaks with a grungy slang. That's fine. But a lot of his dialogue and inner monologue mixed up that slang with dialogue that almost felt too formal. The lack of contractions in a lot of the prose made it feel too stiff, not relaxed at all for biker banter. It just didn't flow naturally.
The story was pretty cliche, not much different from what most biker books and tv shows have come to be. It lacked originally and with that in conjunction with the editing mishaps that continually removed me from the story, I felt hugely disconnected.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a decent length biker novella, set in Kentucky, and revolves around the Black Rebel Riders MC. Grim is second to head man in charge, and Red is the biker chick of his dreams. I am a little unsure of how to rate this book.
The Good: 1. .Everything is told from Grim’s perspective which negates my normal distaste for first person narratives (too many annoying heroines tainted it for me). 2. The story is gritty, and doesn't white wash the outlaw biker lifestyle. 3. The couple has believable sexual chemistry. 4. Grim is very alpha, but willing to admit his wrongs, and not too prideful to apologize. 5. I like the how the options for more books are laid out nicely without feeling like obvious “series bait.” 6. The wrap up made sense, and made me happy I stuck with it.
The Bad: 1. I didn't find the couple’s meeting and insta-relationship believable. 2. I knew Red was pretty, but nothing beyond the physical made her special. 3. There was so much information in Red’s backstory, but none of it made me understand her that well.
Conclusion: This had a few issues, but the wrap up helped ease some of them. I liked it, but didn’t love it. I’m at crush status, but hopefully the next installment can seal the deal.
I'm not loving this series yet but it's just the first book. I'll try one more before I decide. I'm hoping this one was just setting everything up. Normally I like both points of view too but this was only Grim's and he is talking in past tense.
Grim stops for a broken down car on the side of the road during the night. The woman is crying laid out on the hood of her car. She admits she has just killed someone but he doesn't ask who. Figures whoever it was deserved it because she had a bruise face and split lip. He takes her home but nothing happens. Come morning he finds out who and that the other club has her daughter. He tries to make a deal but things don't work out.
His president sends him on a run that ends up taking months to finish. He also cheats on her. Gets home and has a big surprise.
It's sad at the end because she dies but the baby is saved. He is now on the warpath to find out who and why.
Too much was going on with Grim not demanding answers especially since he was the VP. Like I said I'm hoping this book was just a set up book. Will see what happens in the next book.

Grim is the first story in the Black Rebel Riders MC Series. Grim Jones, VP, and Slim Black, President, have some bad history with rival club, Devils Rejects. Things are gonna go from bad to worse when the Rejects President, Hook, looks to seek revenge after his son gets killed by his own woman and she (Red) winds up at the Rebels’ clubhouse for protection. She also ends up with Grim and is pregnant with his baby. Nothing’s easy or sugarcoated in this lifestyle ~ it’s survival of the fittest and heartache for the rest. On to book two ~
I tried, I really did but 2 is the best I can do for the entire series and yes I read every single book. The characters were not likeable, not a single one has any redeemable qualities. Baby is an over grown whore brat, Striker and Rebel are just cheating bastards that are only concerned with themselves {let me marry the woman I love SO much…oh and wait, now that I am married I am going to screw the stripper whore….beg forgiveness and go back to the stripper whore}. Grim, Romeo and Foxie are a triangle of damage that is beyond my comprehension. These books are just who is having sex with who and who gets pregnant ~ not your wife that is for sure, and wait…doesn’t anyone know what a condom is? Now you have to ask yourself why I read the books if I disliked them so much ~ I honestly don’t know. The story lines were good, the concept was good, the writing was poor the characters were awful. With all of this said the author did wrap up the stories nice and sweet but left questions, not to mention a big ending that was expected to continue later….will I read the next generation? NO…
Liked that it was somewhat different from other MC books but I couldn't make myself like the story or the characters and for me to truly enjoy a story, I need to like at least one of those 2.
Nice cover though.
Read: 29/04/2015 1st rating: 1 star Genre/sub-genres: Romance/MC Cover: 3 stars Will I recommend: No
The writing and dialogue was very choppy and lacked realism. The Grim and Red insta-love thing was a little hard to believe. I didn't like the ending....
This is the introduction of The Black Rebel Riders and tells the story of Grim and Gypsy red. He doesn't know what it is about her (apart from her milky skin and flame red hair) but before her he never wanted to CLAIM any woman as his old lady, but then Red turns up and has him breaking all the club rules. What is it about her ? Why does he want her so much ?? Can he change for her ? Can she really change her Gypsy ways and settle down ? All will be revealed x
OH. MY. GOD! Amazing! Hot as hell, Raw, Roller Coaster, Edgy, Tearjerker and so much more.
I was hooked the moment I started reading and was not let go until I was thrown out the door onto my butt at the end.
Grim is everything a biker should be. He's not soft. He's rugged and wild. He knows he is not good and he does not hide that fact when Gypsy Red walks into his life, but there is something about her that draws him to her and vice versa.
Red causing Grim to experience a side of himself he never knew he had... a romantic side. Things with her weren't just simple in and out sex like with the club whores, he wanted more with her.
From here on out there are nothing but twists and turns in this roller coaster of a story that try to separate Grim and Red. I had a few "WTF! Grim!" moments.
There is a plot twist that will make the emotional cry. Your heart breaks, tears will fall and you will be left broken. I shouted "Why?!" at my Kindle.
Another wonderful from Glenna Maynard, as always. I cannot wait to read more about the Black Rebels Riders' MC.
This was a really good book. Grim is a dark sexy alpha male VP of the Black Rebel Riders’ MC. His world is stopped when he finds Red on the side of the road, broken and battered so he takes her back to the clubhouse. This was a wild hot read that reminded me of a tv show that use to come on. He was so sweet to her, even though it was out of his character to care for others besides his brothers in his motorcycle club. The club is at war with Devils Rejects. This book was full of twist and hot dirty sex and I loved it. This was the first book in a new series too me and my first time reading this author this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling the book was too short I wanted more the ending was a surprise to me and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Raw in your face kind of book. Loved it! Grim is so hardcore, you would not think he could be capable of love. Red is just as hardcore yet she brings out the best in him. I found this book to be quite emotional. I was in tears for Grim and Red. Don't get me wrong I am not an emotional person so when a book affects me to the point of tears that tells me it's an awesome book, very well written to make me feel the need to actually cry, usually I'm like oh that's sad but no tears and with this book there were actually streaks down my face. Well done author Well done. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Terrible! I didn't even finish and that is saying something coming from me!
Grim meets Gypsy Red on the side of the road, takes her straight back to his trailer breaking two of the club rules, treats her basically like a princess and the next day declares war on a rival MC without having claimed her or barely touched her, let alone even getting to know her! I mean she could be a psycho crazy arse b*tch but he wouldn't have a clue and he's ready to go to war?? Puh-lease! It's a ridiculous premise and it only gets worse as the book goes on. Even skipping sections, I couldn't finish the book.
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK or decent reads. ======================== ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥Rereading in 2023♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Wow! How much time has passed since my first reading in 2014. I reread it and it was like a reunion with old friends who welcome us with open arms with a beer and conversation around the fire. I recommend!
This book was very interesting heartbreaking I really enjoyed this story line and were it leads Glenna dose a great job with the characters and Grimm oh my I love him all I can say is you should really read this book you won't be disappointed just make sure you have your tissue paper handy
Really needed a health warning to read this book. Tears streaming down my face, just when I thought Grim would get his love, it's taken. Heart breaking! Can't wait to read the rest now
This one doesn't really end. Some suprises. It's one you have to know what is going to happen next. One big surprise. Love Red. Grim is out for blood and I don't blame him.
I don't know what to say. I say this all the time, I love My MC books. And I had this one on my TBR list a while. So a friend asked me to read it
First of all it wasn't bad. When Grimm and Red met each other it was good. A women in distress and he helped her, gave her a place to stay and food to eat and was a perfect gentlemen But after he heard that Red killed one of their enemy's son he just decided because of his attraction to her he was going to help her. And get her daughter back who she had to leave behind. But according to club rules if she's not claimed they can't help her. So he claimed her as his Top Bitch.
Th story is told in such a way that it keeps you guessing about what's going to happen. Needless to say as I read it just didn't talk to me. The relationship between Red and Grimm happened to quick for me. And after he came back from his 6months away it just didn't work for me. I felt that the story needed more depth and thy should have had more time to get to know each other. I feel like the story was to rushed.
And then it ends in a sort of cliffhanger that just leaves more questions that I felt could have been answered in this book
I don't know if I want to read the next one. And for someone who loves Biker books this one just lacked the OTT alpha man and the grit of a good MC book
This is a gritty, raw, crassly realistic book. It is either the superlative stereotype of bikers or the most realistic bad-boy biker book you will read. While the author describes the main character, Grim, as a hot alpha male, I would describe the characters in this book as quake-in-your-boots-and-pray-you-never-meet-in-a-dark-alley types. I found the plot compelling, but a bit edgy for me. I didn't care for any of the characters, but I got how realistic they were being portrayed. I have to say that the author's depiction of the characters and biker lifestyle was amazingly well done. Good writing, just not my thing. Four stars for character depiction, and overall a three-star book.

This was an awesome book. Its fast paced and non stop. I absolutely love it and cannot wait to read the others in the series.
Grim is an unusual man. He tells exactly what he wants without any kind of regret and he will not tell you anything to make it easier for yoy to handle. He puts it all upfront no matter what.
Gypsy Red a.k.a. Red is a woman out to save her life and her daughter's life. She has been living in hell for years and has finally gotten out but she had to leave her daughter behind. She now has to save her daughter but cannot do it alone without ending up dead.
This book will have you hooked from the beginning. I read it in no time. I cannot wait to read more of Glenna's work.
** I was given an ARC for an honest review by the author **
Wow this book blew me away. Loved Grim: The Beginning (Black Rebel Riders' MC, #1 was a amazing read. Loved Grim and Red they were to very different people but they also had their own demons.
Grim is the VP of the Black Rebel Riders MC he is a cold hearted killer and a bad boy alpha biker. Red is a gypsy and is trying to rescue her daughter from a rival MC. Sparks fly when Grim takes Red back to the club house and he makes her his old lady. He goes on some runs that take him away from Red when he comes back he finds out that she is pregnant.
I really loved this book got to see how Grim met Red and how they connected in the beginning. Looking forward to see more of Grim in the next book.
Received an Arc for this novella, this was very, very, fast paced and intense. I didn't think I was going to enjoy the writing style at first, because everything happend at lightening fast speed, but I did enjoy this. Lots of things happened that I'm sure is set up to draw you right in to the continuing story of Grimm, his family and the Black Devils MC. Excited for the next one!!!
This was too short. I didn't get enough about Red and the situation to make a full connection with her. Hell Grim didn't even know her freaking name. I get that it is a prelude of what is to come but I needed a bit more. Also, there was some
