I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a decent length biker novella, set in Kentucky, and revolves around the Black Rebel Riders MC. Grim is second to head man in charge, and Red is the biker chick of his dreams. I am a little unsure of how to rate this book.
The Good:
1. .Everything is told from Grim’s perspective which negates my normal distaste for first person narratives (too many annoying heroines tainted it for me).
2. The story is gritty, and doesn't white wash the outlaw biker lifestyle.
3. The couple has believable sexual chemistry.
4. Grim is very alpha, but willing to admit his wrongs, and not too prideful to apologize.
5. I like the how the options for more books are laid out nicely without feeling like obvious “series bait.”
6. The wrap up made sense, and made me happy I stuck with it.
The Bad:
1. I didn't find the couple’s meeting and insta-relationship believable.
2. I knew Red was pretty, but nothing beyond the physical made her special.
3. There was so much information in Red’s backstory, but none of it made me understand her that well.
Conclusion:
This had a few issues, but the wrap up helped ease some of them. I liked it, but didn’t love it. I’m at crush status, but hopefully the next installment can seal the deal.
