DSM-5- Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders- by APA, BRAND NEW American Psychiatric Publishing (CBS Publishers & Distributors India); 5th edition (2017) 938.621-7961
A necessary evil. Initially intended to assist professionals in communicating with each other, now devolved (yet more elaborate than ever) into a rococo set of classifications of states and traits, guaranteed to reduce any individual to a nubby.
I refer to this on the weekly for work. It needs to add more about the effects of racism and sexism on trauma, and also there is no diagnosis for C-PTSD. Also would be nice if there were different categories of Adjustment Disorder. Hopefully next version amends these.
