Whether you realize it or not, if you live in the West, you are currently engulfed in a civilization-wide cultural war that is taking place all around you. Maybe you’re aware of it, or maybe you’re not. It doesn’t matter. The cultural war is real and it is vicious. And unlike a traditional shooting war between different nations, in a cultural war there are no civilians. There are no neutral parties, since no fence-sitting is permitted, and there is no common ground to be found. No one is permitted to sit it out or refuse to take sides; sooner or later, you are going to be forced to declare yourself by either publicly submitting to the SJW Narrative or openly rejecting it. No matter what you do, no matter who you are, and no matter who you know, the SJWs will come after you once they believe you pose a threat to their Narrative, or to their objectives for the organization they are attempting to converge. The book is named after the Second Law of SJWs always double down. SJWS ALWAYS DOUBLE DOWN is a much-needed guide to understanding, anticipating, and surviving SJW attacks from the perspective of a man who has not only survived, but thrived, after experiencing multiple attempts by Social Justice Warriors to disqualify, discredit, and disemploy him in the same manner they have successfully attacked Nobel Laureates, technology CEOs, broadcasters, sports commentators, school principals, open source programmers, and policemen. Written by Vox Day, Supreme Dark Lord of the Evil Legion of Evil and bestselling political philosopher, and featuring a foreword by Ivan Throne, SJWS ALWAYS DOUBLE DOWN is a vital weapon in the cultural war against the thought police.
Theodore Beale does much of his writing under the pseudonym Vox Day. Three-time Hugo Award nominee Vox Day writes epic fantasy as well as non-fiction about religion, philosophy, and economics. His literary focus is military realism, historical verisimilitude, and plausible characters who represent the full spectrum of human behavior. He is a professional game designer who speaks four languages and a three-time Billboard top 40 recording artist.
He maintains a pair of popular blogs, Vox Popoli and Alpha Game, which between them average over 20 million annual pageviews. He is a Native American and his books have been translated into ten languages.
He is the Lead Editor of Castalia House, and is also, with Tom Kratman, the co-creator of the military science fiction anthology series, RIDING THE RED HORSE.
Emotional instability about one’s self-worth triggers a need to show superiority over others. But a lack of facts means that rhetoric (hissing and screaming) is the only option available. One can never lose because one can never admit that one is wrong, for that triggers very, very bad feelings. Watch out for the noonday demon! But never fear, for fellow SJWs are here! They are ready to back thee up, to take the play sword from your hands. They have play swords of their own, and they will smash them upon thy head. Alas! foam swords do not do much damage . . .
— The mindset and behavior of SJWs
Afterword: SJWs are pack animals and can only survive in the herd (and they are quite like Nietzsche’s herd animals, aren’t they!). Knowing their mindset will make you realize that they are simply put, not normal in their psychological ways. Knowing this, one must not try to reason with them, but attack at their weak spot (as every strategist knows): their own self-doubt which their moral crusade is out to cover.
SJWs Always Lie was a seminal work for me. It changed my life and taught me how to fight. I read this in one sitting last night, and though it's filled with a lot of topics I'm already very well familiar with -- it also has some really great examples of which I knew little detail. There'll be something for everyone who's watching this culture war and wondering what the heck is going on. The insight into the SJW psychological breakdown is probably the most important part, something SJWs Always Lie did not cover. Once you know your enemy, you can better predict them.
I rated this at 5 states because it is part 2 of a must-have guide to navigating the poisoned waters of the list culture war. It contains crucial knowledge and examples from experience on how to be in the world, but not of the world. Social Justice has infiltrated everything from our workplaces to our churches, video games and Star Wars. If we don't recognize it and we're not prepared for it, it will infiltrate and destroy the most precious things in our lives as well.
Once again Vox Day provides valuable insight into the twisted world of the SJW. Where SJWAL focuses on individual resistance to SJW attack, SJWADD focuses on signs of convergence within an organization, as well as what can be done to stem the infection. A solid read for leaders and anyone who wants the focus of the organization to remain intact.
As with the first offering (SJWs Always Lie) this book’s clear-eyed exposition of the opposition and the battlespace is marred somewhat by the author’s vindictiveness. As a culture, we are indeed at war, but the people on the other side of that war are not the enemy; they are the prize. To some extent, the author seems to be aware of this; he includes an appeal to people who suffer from the core personality flaws under discussion, and some hard but helpful advice about how to grow out of them. This book digs deeper into the underlying motivations and psychology driving the social justice movement, and demonstrates how to draw predictable reactions based on them. It’s ugly business, and in my observation, uncomfortably accurate. The work also suffers from some unfortunate editing failures. At several points, a paragraph ends in mid-sentence. Although the meaning is clear enough most of the time, Castaglia House is better than that. Or should be. Flaws aside, this work is well worth reading.
readable, even entertaining. this is what honest pattern recognition from someone smarter than you looks like. i believe him because i have experienced similar things. i have had similar conversations and encounters with sjws in real life and on the internet. he's seen what i've seen, but vox day commands it with language, and passes that power on to us, the listeners.
Equally as entertaining as the first, we find this author doubling down on his insane self-important ramblings, as if someone other than himself cares who is the president of a little scifi book club or how many bots visit his website, or the websites of his nemesis.
A little bit disjointed in places. The first one is better; it has tighter organization and flows more smoothly. Most of the material in this one is culled and arranged from the author's blog. None of it is bad, necessarily, but none of it is terribly new or groundbreaking either. Definitely don't read this without reading SJWs Always Lie first, or you will be confused by the concepts and the lingo.
I highly recommend reading its predecessor - SJWs always lie
I clearly remember reading the original's advice: never apologise, never resign and the use of rhetoric and dialectic. I soaked up the insight. I've even used lots of the advice at work.
While still interesting this second book has less punch - and has lots of parts that are mere recounting of recent events.
So... mixed bag. But do make sure you read the first one.
Honestly, as people have said, read the first book before you read this one. It’s not the greatest guide. In fact, it does get dull. But it’s reinforcing what was said in SJWs Always Lie. It’s not a book you recommend to the average person, but it’s not a bad read. Just be prepared to have your views questioned, et al.
After the revelatory, life-changing 'Aha!' nature of the original (which engendered the tipping point of my 'redpilling') the followup couldn't help but be (mildly) disappointing in comparison. 4.5 stars.
This was an ok book, but a bit dull in places. The first book was much better, I would have also liked to have seen more said about the Dragon Awards, especially the events surrounding the 2017 awards.
As with most sequels, this book is nowhere near as good as its predecessor, SJWs Always Lie. Still, it is useful for understanding the psychology of SJWs. You may read it for free if you have a Kindle Unlimited account.
It clarifies and expands upon the content of SJWs Always Lie. It is unfortunate that a lot of people who could be helped by this book will never read it. The only constructive criticism is that, with a dozen or so typos that don't detract from the content, it could have taken another pass by the editor.
The takeaway message is that whatever you do when confronted by SJWs, never back down and never apologize for a well reasoned and rational position which goes against the SJW narrrative.
