Something Different
Samantha Morgan is an independent witch who owns her own yoga studio. Not at all interested in finding a man for more than a good workout between the sheets, she agrees to a fix up to appease her mother. Enter Gerri Wilder, an old friend of her mother's and owner of the Paranormal Dating Agency. While stories about Gerri's matches are larger than life, Sam thinks she is immune to the woman's gifts in matchmaking.
For Samantha, Gerri tries something different by setting Sam up with Ian Michalson, a wealthy black panther shifter, in order to have her meet a friend of his who is as stubborn as she is when it comes to dating. Gerri claims this mystery man will be her savior, in a metaphorical sense, the one to capture her heart, make her stop fearing love. Only problem is, as she continues to date Ian, a nice enough guy who seems to be more than willing to be in on Gerri's plan, all Sam can do is wonder which of Ian's friends or associates this savior of hers could be, all the while hoping it isn't his bodyguard, Jacob, because her physical attraction to him is dangerously off the charts.
After two weeks of dating Ian, much longer than she ever intended to let this misaligned plan go on, Ian ends up in a war with a rival pride over a business deal. When this rival pride loses the deal, they try to kidnap Sam for revenge and blackmail, thinking her more important to Ian than she is. Yet, it is Jacob, Ian's bodyguard who ends up becoming her literal savior that day. On the run to save her life, one of two things will happen: Sam and Jacob will kill each other in stubborn fights about how to keep her safe, or they will give into whatever has sparked between them.

Good short story.
This one is definitely different from some of the others. That's not to say it's any less better. I liked the way this storyline went it was very interesting to see how it played out. Sam doesn't want a mate period but agrees to let Gerri set her up. What they don't realize is the only way to get these two together is to set them up. Jacob is not into dating at all wants nothing to do with it. Gerri has to get really creative. I would have liked to have had a little more info in this book but over all it was a good read.

This is not your average shifter dating service romance. It is different yet a great read!
This is a steamy read that has some amazing characters. Some more than others.
The different twist on the dating service and the plot twist that added danger to the story made this book!

Good book. You have a sassy witch not wanting a man in fear of love. A fake date to grab attention of her savior only not knowing who he is. With danger in the balance will she let love in.

This was a good Read. The storyline was interesting and the characters are fun and exciting. If you like a good romance story with a great storyline and fun characters then this story is for you.

A well written book with an interesting story line. The characters are strong and the story flows quickly and smoothly. I enjoyed reading this story.

I would strongly suggest that you also read (near the same time) the companion story Someone Different by Gina Kincade as both stories are connected in both characters and impact. I don’t know that it truly matter which story you read first, though I did read this one, Something Different, second and the emotional impact of the first story carried over very well to this one. The cover blurb gives you a very descriptive set up of the story so I won’t go there.
I enjoyed Something Different very much. It certainly packs an emotional punch on several levels. I will admit that it took a few chapters for me to really warm up to Sam, she is one stubborn witch who refuses to fall in love because love can hurt beyond reason. What she doesn’t get yet is that having that love and the memories that love provides makes up for the loss of a loved one… but she’ll learn. The attraction between Samantha and Jacob sizzles throughout their romance. Two very stubborn people. When disaster and danger strikes it’s then that this story heats up, tempers flair and Sam gets a true idea of what love is worth.
I hope, at some point, we will get to learn how Sam and Jacob are doing after the fallout settles. Without giving away spoilers, I’d definitely like to know more… and that is what a good book delivers, the need to know more. I’d definitely recommend these two stories for any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. Intriguing plots, interesting characters, steamy times and danger… that’s exactly how I love my Romances.

Great book! !
Samantha's mother wants to see her get marry and have kids. So she contact her old friend, Gerri Wilder to set her up with someone. Gerri plans are have her date Ian who is very wealthy panther shifter to get close to one of his bodyguards is her mate. Sam likes Ian but she is not attractive to him or they don't have much in common. Samantha had an instant attraction toward Jacob who is Ian's best friend and bodyguard. After two weeks of dating Ian, she head back to her life and teach yoga classes. Business enemies try to take her to get back at Ian instead he send Jacob in to saved her.
I am so glad that they didn't died because that would be sad if they had been. I really enjoyed reading this book and I loved how honest Jacob was with his feelings towards her and keeping her safe. I think Sam realize that she was not living and she could have lost her chance of finding love with Jacob. I hope to read about Ian's love life in the future and I highly recommend this book to someone who love to read paranormal romance books.

Cute Story
Gerri had us wondering with what she was doing with her little match this time. This was a match for the records and it was played very well by the ones involved. The story had some action and a little drama.
With the story being about a shifter not wanting to have a mate and a ploy to get two people together. I would have liked to have seen a little more of a inner war with Jacob and his animal. I also would have liked to have a little more of Jacob's reaction when he found out about Sam's and Ian's relationship and Gerri's trap to get Sam and Jacob together.
It was a wonderful story and it works perfectly with Gina Kincaid's story. But in my option due to instances that happen in both books I believe this one should be read first, even though they take place during the same time frame.

This book supplies the back story to certain events that take place in the companion book, Someone Different. Although I am sure these can be read in any order, I am actually glad that I read this one second. I believe you get the full range of emotional engagement by reading in this order. My heart feels so much better for these characters now that I am aware of the whole picture! The collaboration between these two authors are spot on brilliant! I won't make this a spoiler review but I will say this is truly a must read!

Paranormal Dating Agency: Something Different by. Kimi Howell
I gave this the old 5star because this book took me running at the first then unceremoniously surprised dumped me at the end. I will be 70 years old tomorrow and I would tell readers that, being an avid reader since childhood, very few books do this to me now. When they do, I know I have found a new author and friend.

Yeah.... sorry, but no.
Characters are fine, idea is good, powers of witch and were great... story... yeah... had some good spots. But was pretty much a pass for me.
They didn’t use any of their powers, and the ending was rather abrupt with no resolution.
That is fine if the story is going to be continued, but even then, it seemed to end at a strange spot.

Not a good ending.
The book went well, built a plot, had characters develop feelings, and then, nothing. The guy and girl come together but we are left not knowing the end. Left unsatisfied.

Good book but...
This book was well written. But the end of it was bad. You don't know if they get to go back to their other life or if the stop the bad people. You just don't know. I wish their was more.

This one left me hanging. They were on the run came to a to a place to hide out, had sex and the book ended. What happened, did everything get cleared up.

Stayed up late to read this.
The stubbornness of both the characters make the story real. There is a lot of arguing in their heads. I get it!

Very disappointed in this story. Found it to be tedious and annoying. Totally different then the PDA formula. Gerri was not even herself.

Where’s the rest of the book?
This story is great but seems to end in the middle. Glad the two are together, but there is so much left to resolve. It is simply unfinished.
