Since I was a little girl I’ve always loved Jesus. I‘ve always believed in an afterlife: Heaven or hell, angels and demons. I’ve always believed in witchcraft to be true. I’ve seen experiences with my own eyes that shows me the spiritual realm is very real.

I’m loving John Ramirez books because he’s actually talking about things the church is too afraid to talk about. The devil, witchcraft, hell. As an ex-devil worshiper John reveals everything we need to know to stay above the enemy, and how he works to destroy people.

I love this book and I love that it makes you have a deeper relationship with Jesus. Because at the end of the day a relationship with Jesus is all that matters and it’s all that matters to me❤️

Full disclosure: I am one of those people who believe in a spiritual realm we cannot see, including the existence not only of angels but demons as well. Why, you may ask? First of all, because I believe God's word that shows us that Jesus himself not only believed in them but showed his power over demons on a regular basis. But also because I have had my own experiences with spiritual forces where God has shown his power over the demonic realm.

So, it was with great interest that I picked up John Ramirez's book, "Armed and Dangerous", and I was certainly not disappointed! Ramirez writes from a place of first hand knowledge that I greatly appreciated, because he not only served demonic forces as a youth, but most importantly because he is now a man of God filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the realms of darkness. His background certainly makes him believable and skeptics will find it hard to argue with his own experiences. His book is well organized and easy to read, and is truly filled with practical information on how to be equipped in battling the enemy. The book is chock full of scripture, standing on God's promises, which is so very important to ensure that believers are not coming up with their own version of what is real and what is not. I especially love the sections where Ramirez includes prayer points. Those who may feel uncertain in their prayer life and don't know how to use scripture to pray truth into their situation will absolutely benefit from the excellent guidance Ramirez provides. The author is a gifted communicator, and he writes effectively with a solid understanding of not only our secular culture and society, but also of the way believers are struggling to even acknowledge that demons exist.

Whether you aren't even sure what you believe about spiritual warfare, or whether you are ready to gain practical insight into how to battle the evil one, "Armed and Dangerous" is just what you've been looking for. I award this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

This book discusses the reality of the spiritual battle we are in. I think all Christians need to continually remind ourselves that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. This book had a lot of great nuggets about being armed against the enemy, but I also felt like there were instances where I disagreed with some of John’s statements. John is an awesome guy, former warlock turned believer, so he has a lot of insight, but sometimes has some extreme beliefs about what is demonic. That being said, still was worth the read. My mom has always said “eat the hay, spit out the sticks”. I got some good revelation from this amongst the things I disagreed with.

Great audio book!!!
John Ramirez is a living testimony of the power of Christ...

Since his early childhood the occult and criminality rampaging and causing havoc in his life.
The Sohn of Satan as he was called, like Saulus to Paulus transformed into a devoted Christian.

John Ramirez wants that the followers of Jesus become armed and dangerous in the spiritual realm, cause their enemy isn't sleeping at all!!

A book for Christians and such interested to know how the occult really functions!!!

Powerful prayers

I've read all 3 of John's books just this week, because this message is so incredibly transformative. Who would have more of a credible place to speak of Satan's danger in our world today?

Armed and Dangerous

The Ultimate Battle Plan for Targeting and Defeating the Enemy

by John Ramirez

Pub Date 05 Sep 2017

I am reviewing Armed and Dangerous through Chosen Books and Netgalley:

For years John Ramirez had served the devil, until he made the best decision of his life, accepting Christ as his Savior. He also points out that it is sad that followers of Jesus Christ has neglected it's calling to be armed and dangerous.

The author asks this question: Why are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ taking such a pounding from the forces of darkness?

In this book we are reminded that Jesus has made it clear that the devil has come to steal, kill and destroy, that Hell is ready to release its fury on believers, but many Christians are in denial.

We are reminded that God created Lucifer as a Cherub, that he was adorned with precious jewels of all kinds and that he led in worship, but Lucifer got puffed up with pride and decided to exalt himself and be like God, but of course it is The Lord alone that is perfect.

In this book we are reminded that now is the time we need to put the enemy on notice.

John Ramirez helps to equip us with the tools and knowledge we need for Spiritual Warfare.

I give Armed and Dangerous five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

When I saw this book cross my desk, I was intrigued by the title. I thought, "The Ultimate Battle Plan? Sounds like an interesting treatise on contemporary warfare tactics!" But when I opened to a random page, the first thing I saw was, "Prayers Against Demonic Attacks in My Sleep and Dreams."

Oh. It's THAT kind of book. (Of course, then I HAD to read it.)

It's apparent that the author is sincere because I don't think anyone who wasn't could write about demons, witchcraft, and the devil as if they were real things with a straight face. But that doesn't make the contents any less laughable. For a book about becoming "armed and dangerous" and providing "the ultimate battle plan," it lacks both. It does not provide any substantial information about what "the enemy's" plans and motivations are, what territory we've supposedly lost to the devil, what those attacks actually look like, how to counter those attacks, and how to know if we were successful in repulsing said attack. It all seems to boil down to three things: "Pray a lot. Witchcraft is bad. Pretty much every human emotion is an avenue for demons." (And again, I can't believe the assertion that witchcraft and demons are real and the book provides no evidence beyond the author's personal experience, which could easily be caused by an undiagnosed mental issue rather than anything supernatural.) Just read his description of demonic attacks he's gotten in his sleep and you'll see what I mean.

The prayers he offers up as "weapons" (which I'm sure were created by the author himself) are hilariously long and filled with things like "covering your family in the blood of Christ" and "repelling astral projections from your home." It left me torn between laughter and horror much of the time. I mean, you can't help but laugh at a prayer called "God's Atomic Spiritual Bomb against the Enemy," especially when it contains a line like this one: "Lord, I pick up the precious sword of the Spirit to slice and dice with the power of the Holy Spirit." What is this, the Cosmic Cooking Show?

In fact, the book is riddled with weird descriptions like that which really interrupt the flow (or what flow there is to be had; the organization is pretty bad and shifts from topic to topic with little to no warning.) The thing that drove me the most crazy from a technical perspective was the abundance of mixed metaphors. Take a look at this line: "Whoever has the remote control [of your mind] in their hands [God or the Devil] owns the real estate of your mind." ...What? No, that doesn't work! Stick with one metaphor already!

While most of the book was just silly or ridiculous, there were two points where I got angry. The first is when the author recounts the story of his brother, who remained a warlock up until just before he unexpectedly died of heart failure. The author then used his brother's funeral as a pulpit to preach the Gospel to the attendees, many of whom were people the author considers unsavory ("Homosexuals and transvestites, drug dealers and drug users.") He then crows about the fact that "eighteen souls gave their lives to Jesus Christ that day." And that... just made me mad. The sheer opportunistic, manipulative gall of it turned my stomach.

The second part that made me furious was when he recounts some letters he received from 8th graders after speaking about this nonsense at their school. They all expressed similar sentiments, but this one stood out to me: "Dear John, I'm thankful a whole lot that you were able to come to the school. You showed me the dangers of everything I always found too interesting. I was encouraged to stop reading books I thought were entertaining, though now I guess I'll have to find something 'more to the Lord' to read." I'm sorry, but any message that discourages reading is a bad one as far as I'm concerned. "Twilight" may not be the best book in the world, but it certainly isn't a gateway to demonic possession. (Neither is "Harry Potter" or Pokemon for that matter. How eighties of him.)

"Armed and Dangerous" is entertaining, but only until you realize that there are people gullible enough to believe in things like magic, witchcraft, and demons and who act on those beliefs. (Especially when children are involved.) This book shows just how dangerous ignorance and unassailable convictions can be.

Great book on a topic that is often not discussed much in churches these days...Spiritual Warfare. This book offers great insights and prayers from someone who spent time on the "dark side" of this battle for many years. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the spiritual battle that is going on everyday around us.

[Note:  This book was provided free of charge by Chosen Books.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.]

For a variety of reasons, I tend to read a large amount of books about spiritual warfare.  Sometimes I am a bit puzzled just how much I read books on the subject, and as someone who reads about the subject often [1], I find that many books, including this one, hit the same talking points and use a language that may be a bit striking and odd to those who are not familiar with it.  This book is a lot like many other books about the subject and says many of the same things.  It would seem that there are a large number of Charismatic professed Christians with a great interest in the demonic world, likely because it is the shadow side of the spiritual aspects of Christianity that they have such a high regard for.  At any rate, this book is not quite as unique as the author would like to believe it to be, but if you are looking for a book that combines personal stories as well as discussion about the workings of Satan in the contemporary world and in the lives of believers, this is certainly a worthwhile option.

This short book of about 100 pages (in the online version I read) is divided into fifteen short chapters that are divided between the author's presentation of his own life and his own background in Santeria where he served as a warlock.  If you are a bit squeamish, this is probably not the sort of book you want to read at night.  The author's discussion combines a lot of prayers, discussions of strongholds and related subjects, most of which one will find in a wide variety of books about spiritual warfare like this one, as well as some rather dark personal stories about how he operated on the side of Satan.  This is an example of a book on spiritual warfare who has experience fighting on both sides, and he is definitely an aggressive person in engaging in such efforts, encouraging believers to be armed with prayer, fasting, and a knowledge of themselves and their enemy (Satan and his demons) in order to fight successfully.

One thing one learns from reading books on this subject is that the authors, like this one, often try to straddle the boundary between defending themselves and their ministers (in this case, the author is a disciple of one David Wilkerson) and in avoiding claiming positions that they do not have.  So this author says that he believes he has been given a commission by God but avoids claiming himself as a prophet or a pastor, although he does claim that David Wilkerson was those things.  The author's discussion about what activities allow Satan and his demons to gain a stronghold in someone's life is a rather expansive list, and is likely to spark a great deal of controversy and discussion, especially considering that several pages of this book is devoted to testimonials from people who came to an understanding that Twilight was wrong from the author's talks.  The author is certainly not one who has a problem giving hands-on discussion about what is and what is not proper Christian entertainment, although his references to Twilight and even Harry Potter are not quite as current as they would have been a few years ago.  One of the difficulties with critiquing pop culture is the problem that it does not seem to last in the public eye for very long the days, for the most part.

The Invisible War

https://stephen-l-france.com/

Whenever I read a book about spiritual warfare, I deliberately go in with scepticism and cynicism.

I have to scrutinise these books with extra vigilance as there are so many authors who take off on extreme tangents about their spiritual journey…things that are very personal and often theoretical, but not completely founded on the rock-solid Truth of God.

That said, the one deep thought I shamefully held for 22 years, paralleling author John Ramirez, was the raw hatred I once embraced for the Judeo-Christian God - or any concept of that God.

I wasn’t a Satanist like John, but I held a secret, profound odium for any notion of a benevolent, higher force.

I only shared this thought of wrath against the divine with close family and friends; however, it dominated my subconscious and conscious thought-life in ways that provoked a powerful moral code—a lofty, self-righteousness that said, “I can be a good man without the help of God”—that ended up getting destroyed when I hit 24.

Reading this book now as a Christian, it was interesting to hear John’s testimony—a renowned life transformation; a man who once lived at the heart of Satanism as one of its generals. He’d tasted its practices, rituals, and lifestyle to the fullest.

Now converted, John believes his mission is spiritual warfare by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Since his past saw deep entrenchment in enemy territory, he is able to spot the ‘darkness’ and be used by God to work effectively against it.

The book was filled with miraculous testimonies and prayers against all types of physical, mental, and spiritual affliction. This helped the reader understand the depths of this invisible arena.

A short book, I found that it was a solid understanding of the spiritual warfare we Christians know exists, but might be reluctant to discuss.

Overall, it provides an eye-opener to a world more real than the physical plane. I say more real because we see the effects of spiritual warfare through both the greatest acts of kindness, stumping human comprehension, and also the most harrowing of evils that cripple human understanding.

Armed and Dangerous was an encouraging read. The author, John Ramirez, brings unique insight to the subject of spiritual warfare.

Having spent the first 30ish years of his life trained as a priest and warlock in a satanic cult, Santeria and spiritualism, and now gloriously born again and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, he looks at the enemy of our soul a bit more clearly and helps the reader to take seriously the battle we are in.

He reveals some of the things he did as a satanist to attack others. He also tells of how he was unable to succeed at placing curses on Christians who were truly walking with their God as opposed to unbelievers or the lukewarm casual Christians.

He takes the reader through scripture reminding us of the authority we have in Christ, Ephesians 2:6. He encourages us to be equipped for battle by being obedient to God and the Word, to repent of sin, to put on the armor of God, Ephesians 6:18.

He shows us why the devil hates us. First, because we are made in the image of God. We are the redeemed and the devil never will be. Second, we took his job. Satan led worship in heaven. We worship now and forever more our God and our Savior. Thirdly, because we can choose to walk in holiness and obedience to Christ. Holiness is our greatest defense and offense against his schemes.

Mr. Ramirez points us to the book of Acts to look at how to deal with demonic opposition. He then compares it with the current day church.

He looks at patterns and cycles of sin and using the Word of God, shows us how to destroy them.

Even though Mr. Ramirez had a deep history in the occult, and examples from his past are shared, the emphasis of the book is knowing Jesus Christ and walking with Him. “Jesus Christ is the ultimate power, and He is all we need. “(Pg 93)

Favorite Quote; If you apply and live out these spiritual weapons in your Christian walk, you will never see a day in the valley of dry bones.

That does not mean you will not face the evil one. You will-you can count on it- but you will always have the victory.

One of the things that stood out to me most, was a chapter on how the enemy distracts us and drains our energy. Ramirez explains how, when we are exhausted and spiritually depleted, the real battle comes—and we are often too worn out to fight.

1 Samuel 30:8: “Then David asked the Lord, ‘Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?’ And the Lord told him, ‘Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!’”

Ramirez referred to this scripture to remind us that it’s crucial to discern what battles are worth fighting and what are simply distractions meant to decrease our strength.

Armed and Dangerous is not just a book about fighting spiritual battles; it’s a blueprint for maintaining spiritual strength, resilience and authority in the face of adversity containing personal revelation, biblical wisdom, and practical tools.

I highly recommend Armed and Dangerous to anyone who feels spiritually weary or uncertain in their fight against darkness. Whether you are a seasoned believer or new to the concept of spiritual warfare, this book will offer you the insight and tools you need to stay “Armed and Dangerous.”

Great book. Gives prayers to pray to rebuke evil spirits, gives practical advice, such as, living a righteous life, watching out for evil to not inject yourself into that environment, and putting on the full of armor of God to protect yourself. Great inspirational stories from the author himself. Overall a great book, it’d be helpful to study this book and what he’s saying, and I’m excited to go back and study its points. This author lives righteously for God and is a trusted speaker. Also for a bonus his other book on fear I’m currently reading (which is why I picked up this book) changed my life. I prayed prayers in there (spiritual warfare prayers) against the enemy and I was lifted from spirits of anxiety depression and any other harmful spirit in my life. I’ve never felt better. God is good, spiritual warfare is very real. I’ve had a dream since I started reading his book on fear and started living righteously, that I was rebuking demons out of a house and going up to their face and saying it, and it was to show that my spirit was growing! This can only happen when you live through the spirit. Grow with God.

Armed and Dangerous is worth the read

I like this book as Mr. Ramirez lays out for the readers a path to follow to conquer setbacks in their lives. He tells of his own story and walks the reader through his former life as a Satanist and provide examples of some of the evil he did to people.

Mr. Ramirez lays out how he got called by the Lord Jesus and details that event. He then sets out for the reader the blessings of his new found life & attributes it to his constant prayer life. He calls it Armed and Dangerous. He delves into various spirits that may be causing set backs, depression, addition and so on. Then he lays out very detailed prayers that the reader can pray to be set free.

If you are on a spiritual journey & want to learn & understand the power of your prayer, this book is for you.

Armed and Dangerous: The Ultimate Battle Plan for Targeting and Defeating the Enemy by John Ramirez is a book about arming yourself with Jesus Christ in a world with evil. I liked the symbolism and imagery incorporated into the book as Ramirez discussed spiritual warfare. My favorite chapter was “Beginnings: Good and Evil,” which talked about the birth of spiritual warfare and listed different types of evil behavior. I also enjoyed the section that included letters that people sent to Ramirez after hearing him speak. Armed and Dangerous was an interesting read.

I like the emphasis that the author makes in the book teaching that Jesus already pay the price on the cross so we are not to make it easy for the devil by giving him so much credit when he is a defeated foe. We need to discern and be spiritually alert at all times. There is no time for spiritual laziness!

“But a remnant is rising up, the end-time Church of Jesus Christ, and I thank God with all my heart for that. This remnant is ready to take on the last spiritual warfare fight that we will ever see. I believe that many will be set free, people will be healed and delivered from demonic oppression and every weapon in the devil’s arsenal will be destroyed.”

Thank you

My name is Christie Oxendine. Today, 9/17/2024 I finished this book, 6 days before I am to turn myself into prison after being falsely accused, wrongfully convicted, and sentenced to prison. God led me to this book and I understand why. I too, shall be a prisoner for Christ for life, no parole. The enemy may think he has defeated me and my calling to be an attorney, but he’s wrong. Jesus will vindicate me and I will be an advocate for God’s people, just like His son. Thank you, Mr. Ramirez, for sharing your courage and faith to defeat satan and his minions. I stand with you, in Jesus’ name.

I have read all of John's books. They were very helpful when I was going through a situation with a witch who lived next door to me. Prior to this experience, I did not really believe that people practiced witch craft for real. I thought it was more in the mystical sense. Anyway, I had a lot of learning to do and needed some kind of a guide line on how to deal with this neighbor of mine. What I like about John's books is that they he shares his own personal testimonies. But also, that he shares his knowledge from his time in withcraft and all that stuff.

Every life is valuable, but what we do with our lives is so important and what's more is that we do great things here on earth to glorify the Kingdom of God and kick the devil in the teeth at the same time. There were different prayers and confessions to put the demonic realm in its place and also testimonies that both touched my heart and made me see certain things in a new way. The blood of Jesus covers all sickness and diseases and He wants us all well, whole, and to know his love for us. This was a really good book. 👍

“Armed and Dangerous” follows his other book “Unmasking the Devil” and I must say the content in this one is much heavier than the previous. It’s true what they say, the higher you go in your spiritual life, the higher the spiritual warfare becomes. John truly is trying to equip us with knowledge, step by step. Kinda like a baby drinking milk to eating solids. So if you are prepared to eat spiritual solids, this book should definitely be read by you.
