The Single Father
While a genius at pairing up fighters to make the most exciting matches inside the octagon, Buddy Thomas hasn’t had much success in finding his personal perfect match, not that he’s really been looking. His daughter, Lucy, is the only woman he needs in his life.

His Daughter’s Teacher
Molly Mayhew isn’t looking for anything but a fresh start. After a disastrous liaison that almost cost her career, she vows never again to date the father of a student.

The Matchmaker Meets his Match
Buddy intrigues Molly, who finds the matchmaker’s frank attitude a little unnerving. Likewise, Buddy finds Lucy’s sweet and soft-spoken teacher a refreshing change from the brash women who populate the fighter world. But Molly is gun-shy about getting involved with another parent, especially when he has a complicated past. Can Buddy convince Molly that he’s not like the other guys?

Favorite Quotes:

A meaningful learning experience was her mother’s code for something that completely, utterly sucked but ultimately left you better off.

Mother, I am a forty-year-old woman who has never married. Believe me, my dreams of an epic romance were ruined a long time ago.

Oh God. Totally clam-jammed by a dog.

My Review:

This was my first experience reading a DS Fight Club story and even though Matchmaker was number seven in the series, I was able to keep up with the story without strain or confusion. However, after having a sample taste and cameos of the previously featured characters, my curiosity has been piqued with a strong compulsion to read all the prior installments. Matchmaker was a quick, easy, and interesting read with endearingly flawed and enticing characters whose histories and back-stories were gradually revealed. Humor, quirkiness, and heart-squeezes were found in equal measure along with a sprinkling of spice, as the characters worked through their various issues to find their path to each other. I enjoyed Buddy, Molly, and Lucy’s tale and look forward to indulging in more of Ms. Kerr’s engaging writing style.

Oh, let me first preface my review by alleviating any fears you may have: this may be the last of the DS Fight Club series, but there are still MORE books to follow in this awesome universe! (Richards men, Harper brothers) Phewwww.... I admit, I had a bit of a panic when the author noted that this was the last of the Fight Club!

This is one of my favorite series, and the perfect ending for the fighter stories. I loved both Molly and Buddy... and even though they were new characters to the world, they fit right in like they've always been there.

Buddy is probably one of my favorite book boyfriends... he surprised me. I was expecting a big obnoxious alpha type, and he wasn't anything like that. Sure he's hot hot hot (and alpha), don't misunderstand me, but he was so sensible, thoughtful and just amazing as a parent. I loved how he didn't want to speak ill of his ex, even when I found myself yelling at her via my Kindle. He is just a class act, and I loved everything about him.

Buddy and Molly have a wonderful getting to love you story, and I enjoyed every single minute reading it.... Also, all of the secondary characters from previous books in the series made an appearance, and it made me want to re-read the whole lot of them all over again!

I thoroughly enjoyed Molly and Buddy's story. The DS fight club family continues to grow with Molly and Buddy who get a second chance at finding the one for them and they find it in each other.

This series is full of wonderful characters who have each others back and Molly and Buddy fit right in. You can definitely read this as a stand alone but knowing the other characters makes the story richer.
I love the way the children's characters were handled so sensitively and Buddy was an amazing dad who never spoke ill off his painfully annoying ex to his daughter.

So nice to read a story about an older couple with Molly being 40 years old and single.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.

Buddy's a single Dad who is the DS Fight Club's "Matchmaker". Molly is a kindergarten teacher who is starting over at a new school after she was forced her to quit her previous teaching job. The two meet when Molly becomes Buddy's daughter, Lucy's new teacher. Tho they are immediately attracted to one another, they are both leery about getting involved because of their previous disastrous relationships. Will they be able to overcome their past failures at romance and go for it or will their pasts failures keep them a part? Great, quick read - I couldn't put it down until I finished!

A sweet love story of two people that get a second chance in love with each other. I fell in love with Lucy she was such a cute little daddy's girl. I smiled through the whole story. I was so sad when I came to the end of the story. All the stories in this series leave you wanting more. I felt like part of their family as I was reading each couples story. Buddy and Molly's story is the sweetest in the series. It made my heart grow with love as these two found their way to a life together as a family.
