Blaze
Lisa Lace

A second chance romance that will sweep a blazing trail of fire straight to your heart. Loved it. Danger, romance and hunky firefighters!

Nate Blaze, had it all. But it all came down a couple years ago when he lost the love of his life. Left with almost nothing but a little girl who stole his heart and memories. Good and bad ones.  He's not interested in women, even with people picking on him about it. Saying its time to move on. The problem is he's not ready. And besides no one has perked his interest. That was until he spies a little thing in the preschool his daughter goes too. Only she doesn't seem interested in him...has he lost his touch?

Jenna Dawson is on the run from an abusive ex-boyfriend. Moving and starting all over again has been a pain. Even with what she was able to grab on her last run out. Wasn't even much to fill up her new place in the little town called Brayford. She's hoping that he will give up and leave her alone. But she knows that can be wishful thinking on her part. Already with a new job and life. She is ready to settle down and do good. Already making one friend, she feels she is on her way to a good new life. Now if only her past would stay in the past and quit interfering with her regular life and quite possibly a love interest...

A Hunk, A Hunk of Burnin' 🔥Love💘

ARC received for an honest review!

Nate Blaze🔥is a small town firefighter who is too handsome🐺, too tall, too alpha🐺, too jacked💪, and too lonely for his own good! His wife👰 died three years ago, leaving him with a precocious little daughter👼, and a broken heart💔
Jenna💋💔 is a young preschool teacher's assistant right now, but she hopes to finish up her degree now that she has this new job in a new town.
She has some violence with her ex in her past, and she's been running for a while now to No avail. Her ex boyfriend is a cop, and he has been trailing👣 her and finding her wherever she goes. He just isn't going to let her go, despite a restraining order. She gets a P.O. Box, and she doesn't use her phone to call her friends or relatives. She's doing her best to keep him from finding her this time.
So, Jenna💋💔 doesn't really want to get involved with another, 🔥hot, handsome Alpha🐺 man right now. Or so she keeps telling herself. She just needs to let that shit go........
When you see a chance, you take it!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

I received this book as an arc and this is my honest review!

Fiery, passionate, and very sweet, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were savory and delicious, each with their own flavors and loyalties.

A woman on the run, Jenna has finally found a place to call home and safe, with a good job, and even better, a good man. A man with a daughter and a job as a firefighter! He's a hero's hero, sacrifice and loyalty is his specialty and he has his eyes set on Jenna. Nate Blaze, seriously, that's his name - not a nick name either, girls! He has a past, a lost love and their beautiful child for him to remember his late wife by. She was the love of his life and he was mourning her still. That is, till he met Jenna, he felt a spark for her he hadn't felt in years and despite her mixed signals he was determined to win her over to at least trying a relationship. Jenna's past comes back to haunt her once she gives in to his quietly insistent and sweet assault on her senses. Compliments, such sweet words, and firm but nice attention has Jenna reeling for more. Except she's afraid of her ex, an ex spiraling out of control into madness. These two go the distance but they nearly go up in a blaze of fiery need, and true flames too.

I don't read much firefighter stories but this changed my mind, seriously, it was good and I really, really enjoyed it!

This was real change in genre from everything else I have read from this author so I delved right in.

Nate Blaze, yes that's his real name, was handsome, happy and had a great life. But tragedy struck and fast forward a few years all he does is work and look after his adorable little girl, Harriet. but when Harriet's new teacher perks his interest, he's not sure if he is ready to take another stab at love.

Jenna thought she had found love once. She was so naive but she finally distanced herself from her abusive ex. But being a cop he always seems to find her and she has had to cut all contact with her family to put him off the scent. But when her new friend, the owner of a coffee shop across from the fire station, points out Nate, her battered little heart starts to thump a little faster!

Great mix of suspense and romance. Possible triggers for those who have suffered from domestic violence but otherwise a very well written and researched story! And not a drop of PNR anywhere!

Nate and Jenna are very complicated characters because both are suffering from traumatic experiences that color their perspective of themselves and others. Ms. Lace does a superb job of using abuse and loss as a backdrop for Nate and Jenna's romance and is very sensitive to these topics so as to not lessen their importance but still to keep to the topic of this story! The heat of their attraction is so literally palpable as to need a fan and a window open while reading but that is what I have come to expect from Ms. Lace's terrific storytelling, though I did check behind the door for at least a token alien!! This story is impacting and full of unexpected moments that engage your heart and your mind and leaves you wanting more! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book!

Breaking Free

This book is a big switch in genre for me by this author so it took me a moment to get into the story. Oh it was not the book is badly written just that it didn't deal with aliens or match making.

The story may have a few triggers for people that have ever been the victim of domestic violence. The author had the subject with great sensitivity and didn't trivialize the matter.

I will have to say that I probably would have enjoyed this book more without the intimate scene details as story is good and for me they were a distraction. Sometimes leaving things to the imagination is better than spelling it out.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book received from the author without obligation to do so.

This is nothing like any of the other Lisa Lace books that I have read, so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it as much as I have her other books, but I was so wrong. So very, very wrong. This was kindle melting hot! I almost needed to call a fireman of my own. Nate is a super sexy fireman who is raising his daughter alone since his wife died. He doesn't want love again because he can't imagine loving someone else like that. Jenna is a preschool teacher who is on the run from an ex-boyfriend. The chemistry between the two is explosive and the romance is sweet. I'm so glad that I gave this book a chance! I'm so glad to be able to say that Lisa Lace writes a contemporary romance that is just as amazing as her sci-fi stuff.

Lisa created two very strong characters that had faced a lot of pain and adversity that some people would have just folded or not come out quite as strong. But Jenna and Nate really 'blazed' their way through! It may have taken Jenna some time, but she not only found the strength to strike out on her own, she also learned that she could trust the people around her and that she had more to her than she realized. And I loved Nate! He was so sweet and the greatest father for Harriet. Perfectly tough and wonderfully sensitive at the same time! More please!

I received this book for an honest review.

I've only read Lisa Lace's Sci Fi book before this but OH BOY!!!! This was one hot book, Lisa Lace is awesome enough to write in multiple genre's. Nate is a single dad and firefighter and Jenna is working as a pre school teachers assistant. However, Jenna is also running from an ex, he's a cop so she is trying her best to stay away from the oh so sexy Nate. She doesn't want to get involved with that type of man again. Especially since the last one is still out there searching for her.
Nate and Jenna steamed up my kindle and I absolutely loved everything about them and this book. I can't wait to read ....well, everything from Lisa Lace!!!

Great!

I chose this rating because this was a really good book. The characters were amazing. Now the book was about a firefighter meeting and nice damsel. Well she wasn't really a damsel she was a new lady that moved to their town. She was running from her abusive boyfriend. He was quite a piece of work. They were Jenna and Nate. Nate was a firefighter and Jenna was a helper in Nate's daughter preschool. To me they were great for one another. They both were trying to overcome something. Anyway to sum it all up they fell in love. I think they were a pretty good match. Great read. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

Gifted a copy. Writing voluntary review:

Have you ever read a book where you get pulled in from the beginning and can't stop reading until you know what all happens?? Well expect that with this book. A person never knows exactly what he or she can endure until they are challenged and this book covers a bunch of challenges. It covers domestic violence and the Synopsis does not even come close to covering what all happens. Expect action, suspense, fear, hatred, obsession, violence and of course friendship and love.

I voluntarily leave honest review for an ARC copy of this book.

It was very enjoyable and pleasant read. Maybe too long, but I could handle it. I liked both characters - Jenna and Nate. I felt sympathy to Jenna because of her crazy ex and for Nate of his loss of wife. Nate is super hot firefighter and he is such a mature man. I loved that. Jenna knew what she want from life and I couldn't stop reading.

The story was romantic, steamy, erotic. I liked vocabulary and general plot. I would like to read more of Lisa Lace's books.

Wow!!! This was completely different and amazing from what I have read of Lisa Lace so far! I absolutely loved this! It was sweet and full of a great romance. Great storyline. I loved both Nate and Jenna. I loved how Jenna grew not only into a strong character but overcame her past fears. Without spoiling anything let me just say Mrs. Lace hits it home for me with what Nate went through. I haven't seen it often but I love when an author knows about that and writes it in their books. This one is definitely going on my top favs list!

I have read Ms. Lace's "Auxem" and "Cyborg" series. This story is completely different. There are no aliens or machines just humans but that doesn't matter. I believe this is the best story I have read by Ms. Lace so far. That's saying a lot because I loved the entire "Auxem" series. This book has romance, danger and self-discovery. The fact that Nate is a firefighter is a big plus(love my firefighters!). I hope we get to return to Brayford sometime in the future for Kacey's story.

This is the first book by Lisa Lace that I read and I loved the story
Jenna and Nate are very interesting characters. Nate continues mourning the death of his beloved wife, but when Jenna appears, he feels a connection with her and does everything for her to reciprocate his feelings. And Jenna is running away from an abusive ex, so she doesn't want to get involved with anyone.
But the second chance in love that is given to them can't be missed. And all they face to live this love is very interesting.
This is a great story. I received an ARC and voluntarily reviewed it.

My first Lisa Lace Contemporary Story!!!

Nate is a fireman with a young daughter, whose wife died three years ago. Jenna is running from a bad relationship. Her ex is a cop who keeps “finding” her. Both tense and hopeful when these two meet and must deal with their past and their dreams for the future. An enjoyable read which lost one star due to a little more tell than show at times.

This is definitely a big change up from the normal books that I have read from this author. Breaking off from aliens and match making, we now have something that could happen to any one of us. Running from a domestic violence relationship Jenna has found her home, and that includes Blaze. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

I normally read Lisa's sci-fi so her contemporary genre was new to me but I wasn't disappointed. This is a great book and once I started it I couldn't put it down. Jenna's struggle to escape an abusive ex keep you hooked but she is not a victim, she is not weak even though she doesn't think so. I would really recommend this book.

This is a stand alone book with its own happily ever after. Lisa Lace has done a great job telling this story. I really like that there is a bit of suspense included with the sweet love story. I found that I couldn't put it down and just read through the whole thing in one sitting. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Good but short

The story only takes you to 18% and the rest are her Sci-fi books, no thanks. The story itself was interesting, action, love and everything you need to keep turning the pages. If only it could have been longer, so much more that could have been told.

Easy read

Nice lovely story, has a great flow and follows a predictable storyline which is sometimes just what is needed when reading it in parts while parenting.
