Saffron’s life ended two years ago when a stranger made her a promise that plunged her into hell. That promise ended with her being shot twice. Now she has a second chance. Xander says he loves her, and she’s never letting go. Will he still love her when he realizes she’s less than perfect?
The last thing Xander ever expected was a mate. Who could love a male with a raging beast inside? When he found Saffron fighting for her life, he knew at that moment he would never give her up. Getting her to agree might not be as easy as he hoped.
The fight Saffron was trying to avoid was knocking on her door. Together with Xander she would do the unthinkable and not only fight for a chance to love him but to keep the world safe.
The battle was coming, and there could only be one winner. Contains adult content
I loved the Wolves Den books. There are some editing mistakes but the overall story is good. Saffron is shot twice by the man(Richard) who was in charge of Jim from the previous book. Xander feels debilitating pain and realizes that it is his mate. So Xander leads Sage and Caden to where he feels his mates pain. They take her back to the compound where Caitlin heals her and uses Sage's blood for the transfusion. The book follows these two couples as they track down Richard. They find that the Koyzals are involved. They are another alien race that can be shadows. In this book we find out what Caitlin knows about the women. We also see the final battle with the Koyzals and Ku'riks along with all of the women. I hope we get follow up stories with the other characters that we know and love.
In the meeting of mates for the record the bad guy shoots Saffron because Sage"the key" was safe, he no longer had use for her as "the door". When Saffron is shot miles away in the compound Xander and Sage are overcome with pain, and lead Caden, who is driving, to where Saffron is lying close to death. Because of the trauma and how close she comes to death when she awakes she has amnesia, She and Xander both grow, not only as individuals but as a couple all while battling the bad guys with the help of the rest of the wolves den family. There near end of the book when Ven and Tristan left kinda tore me up a bit. i just couldn't stop crying and found myself worrying about them out their by themselves facing the cold hard world all alone. I really hope they each get a story, Ven is such a sweetie, and I feel sorry for Tristan so much older and all alone.
I have read all of the previous books, and have looked for the ending to the "shadows", but that ending is bittersweet. There won't be any more need for the Kir'uiks and their absolute devotion to their bold and beautiful mates. I don't want to have to fight anything evil from out of this world, but if it meant that my other half was a devoted, kind, protective werewolf then I could handle that. To get the best benefit, read them in order because you need to know about all of the other characters who play such important roles in Cancer and Saffron's story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.
As usual, this story was well worth reading. Some new characters and information/ background are added. Xander finally gets a chance! Lots of action, including battles with the evil guys! Quite a few new and exciting twists. I just love the series and can't wait for the next book!
