Wolf River #4

Taming his Saber

Rate this book
Princess Affina of the Saber Mountain clan spent the first twenty years of her life in the safe comfort of her father's palace. But after being forced from their home by another saber clan and having been on the run for over a year, her father pushes her through a portal to Earth, stranding her on the strange new planet full of too many people, too many sights, and too many temptations. But Gerri Wilder has the perfect way to fix Affina's problems. Put her in the care of fellow sabertooth Mr. Razor Edge.

Raze grew up a slave in the Saber Mountain clan, paying for the sins of his parents and fighting to gain his place. But on the night the pack was attacked Affina's father handed him a chest full of jewels and sent him to secure a new domicile. Razor has been a lone saber for over a decade- and he hasn't wasted any time becoming rich, powerful and his own Alpha. The only thing missing is a mate of his own; a problem not even the best matchmaker in the universe has been able to remedy – until now.

When Affina arrives to find her best friend Razor is not only alive but thriving she's overjoyed, but Raze the man is not Razor the teen who spent his nights with her under the stars. As Affina tries to acclimate to her new life on Earth she and Raze must fight the memories of their pasts to allow the mating bond they now feel to guide their hearts.

But just as they finally give into their passion they discover that the clan that destroyed their people isn't done with either of them quite yet.

Who You Gonna Call?

Who you gonna call.......Gerri Wilder

Princess Affina is thrust through the Vortex to earth by her father the king beseeching his daughter to keep their Clan alive. Did the king envision what would come to be on earth when he pushed Affina through the Vortex, was this in his plans all along?

Razor's Edge was sent to earth by his king and master years ago to amass land for the coming of the Saber Clan to earth with only money and his witts. What he never expected was a call from Gerri Wilder and much less the sight of the love of his life before him after so many years. He was a slave charged with her protection on their planet, she never treated him as such, but now she would become a slave to his passion.

This was just an "ok" addition to the series for me personally. I could have really gone without the hero being so promiscuous regardless of the reasons. I can see having some sex before meeting his mate, but this was done to an overkill. He was basically a man whore. Also, it seemed as if women were continually throwing themselves at him. I wish some of those scenes had been replaced with the hero and heroine actually developing their relationship.

A new kind of shifter (at least for me!)....Saber-toothed tiger! The book was well-written, the characters interesting & the idea intriguing.

Affina is shoved through a portal to Earth in order to try to save her clan. She meets up with her friend, Razor, whom she thought was dead. Razor had been sent to Earth years earlier by her father in order to set up a place for her Saber clan to live. Since Affina is a Princess & Razor was her father's slave, the sparks between them are complicated.

I loved the reaction of Affina to her new home on Earth, especially her reaction to bras & underwear! Had me laughing out loud at times imagining how someone from another planet would react to some things we take for granted!

My only complaint about the would be that I would have liked to know more about the world of Aurora & some of the politics that were mentioned. If you love shifters & the mind-blowing sex that happens between them, you will love this book!

What a great book.

This was another great addition for the PDA series. This was such a great book. I loved it. I loved the spin she used on her shifters. This is Affina and Raze's story. Raze was sent to earth to kind a place the sabers. Affina is the princess of the sabers her father pushes her through a portal when their enemies attack. Alone and scared she has no idea what to do. Lucky for her Gerri Wilder knows exactly what to do. Gerri calls Raze a man that Affina thought was dead. When these find each other again sparks fly. But Raze being a slave he thinks he's not worthy of the princess. When the truth is revealed will these two be able to move past all the lies and deception. This book had such a great twist to it. I highly recommended this book.

Enjoyable!

This was my first read of Ms. Ganiere's writing and I enjoyed it.

I've found the Kindle Worlds books to be hit or miss so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was interesting reading another author's voice for Gerri Wilder, who is the beloved matchmaker in Milly Taiden's, Paranormal Dating Agency (PDA) series. I was not disappointed at all.

The main characters were written well and the connection between them was easily felt. The time lapse between earth and the home world of the main characters allowed the younger to become the older, but he still had things to learn. Loved the humor injected into the story by some of Affina's antics.

I'm definitely going to read more from this author.

Writing quality: Good
Violence: None
Sexual content: Yes
Narration: Third person
Plot: Some twists
Mood: Mixture of Light-hearted & Suspenseful
Pace: Steady
Character development: Semi-developed

Disclosure: I received a free copy of the book.

So I volunteered to read a shifter story about a saber. "Sounds interesting," I thought."I'll give it a go!". And yes this was One of those times I didn't read the synopsis- I genuinely like not having the bones of the story already there - I like to find it for myself. Most times it's lead me right!!!!!

The author kindly sent me a copy to get my little more into.....

Written wonderfully and the characters are all easily relatable down to the lovesick temp!!
Our two main characters are a perfect addition to the PDA series! strong willed, outspoken, speaks their mind woman and the male - so very alpha, gorgeous but yet does have flaws - esp when it comes to their mates

~~~~~~~~SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!~~~~~~~
Ms Ganiere starts us off with a heart racing scene of a small clan of sabres who have been forced to live on the run. Their only hope is to start afresh on Earth.
Standouts clear the area to say it's safe to open the portal to get the king, the princess and the rest of the clan through. But suddenly they're ambushed.
The king pushes Affina through despite her wanting to stay and fight. The last glimpse of her clan was of them fighting......and barely holding their own.....
This is the bit that I was shocked about as I normally only associate the Paranormal Dating Agency with the readings from Ms Taiden but the matchmaker we love Gerri Wilder is as usual ahead of everyone else in the game!!!
Tho as it happens....her skills aren't really needed!! she was just needed to help them find each other again!
Raze is a sabre too. The only one he knows of on earth. He's spent the last 12years using the clans money that he was sent with from Nova thru the portal to earth to invest in their future.
And Raze is finally happy with the land areas he has acquired
When Affina and Raze meet back up tgey are both shocked...happy- but shocked and unsure. They were best friends when they were young. But they've grown up. And Raze has....well.....wow!!!!
Feelings they both feel but think they shouldn't feel start to cause problems....
Fina growls at women who have made it obvious they've slept with him and Raze is shame filled but can't get her to listen to why....
After making some good progress between them they get a call from Gerri....and not the good kind of call.
Some of their clan have made it thru
But they bring with them others from another clan. With news that will bewilder , shatter and crack the tentative wall they were starting to build.
The chasm grows bigger as Fina takes it upon herself to look after the clan members and blocks out Raze.
When Raze offers them to go to the lodges to live on the 2000 acres he's secured they jump at the chance.....Fina says she goes with them.
As Raze stares at his empty apartment, the plane taxis down the runway.......
Someone needs to stop being stubborn before it's too late but who could and WOULD do it???
This is a really good addition to the Paranormal Dating Agency series. I was immediately drawn into the story and the characters. I don't know about you, but I would be freaking out if I ended up in another world by myself. Not Affina. After her father shoved her through the portal and her main concern was getting back to help him. Apparently being on the run has made her fearless. Maybe a little too fearless. I liked how Gerri Wilder, paranormal matchmaker, was the one that was called to come get her. I loved Razor Edge he was a dream come true. I was not fond of the sudden lack of self-confidence Raze experienced when he saw Affina. Yea he was a slave on their home world, but that was 12 years ago. He had accomplished so much in his 12 years all by himself. I thought Affina should have had a little more caution when it came to roaming the city alone when Raze had to leave her alone. They had been best friends and were now the only two sabers on Earth. So when Mandrake showed up I wasn't happy with the way he handled things, but I was very pleased at the news. Funny how Affina was so dismissive to Razor about his slave status and how it affected him. She didn't WANT to try to understand. Now that things are different she's not so cocky. I also thought that Raze was very lenient with the other Saber Mountain clan members that came with Mandrake. All in all, it was a fantastic book. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The cover description gives a very good idea of the basics of Taming His Saber. I found this story to be engaging right from the start. Intense, confusing for Affina and almost as bad for Raze. One has had a decade to adjust and adapt to a new world, the other is not only seeing everything as new and unknown but grieving as well. It is their relationship as younger people back on their home planet that gives them each some comfort – but things have changed drastically for them both now. And life is about to get interesting as they discover that their cats are mates and unsure what to do about that rather large fact. Add in a few ex-bed-mates, an implied class difference and a few twists and turns along the way and Taming His Saber becomes quite an intense and interesting story.
I enjoyed Affina and Raze’s romance very much. If at times their stubbornness got a bit overwhelming, it passed quickly for everything about their situation was as far from the norm as possible. I would like to see stories about the secondary characters though, I don’t know if there is a follow up planned but I’d love to learn their stories as well.
If you’re looking to visit the Paranormal Dating Agency world again, then I’m sure that you’ll discover that Taming His Saber would be an enjoyable experience. I had fun there and that’s the whole point.
I own a Kindle copy of this title.
I loved this book! I felt like I was there watching this love story unfold. Razor's Edge is such a dominating man, living without his love, alone in a new world for so long. When he thinks all is lost and he'll never see his Princess again, his prayers are answered. Princess Affina is thrown into this new world by her father, whom she believes has ruled her clan by the letter of the law. She doesn't expect to see the one person she's longed for, although his title is her protector/her slave, thinking he was dead all this time, and there he is. They have both changed in their time spent apart, but as they spend more time together they realize the feelings they've had for each other is the mating bond kicking in. Finally when they think their life is perfect, Mandrake, Raze'a grandfather, comes through the portal. He's such an evil man looking for retribution for his daughter, killed by Affina's father. Others from her clan were tortured and killed by this man, and he tells them Razors the real king. Talk about a slap in the face!!! Affina doesn't understand what's happening at first. I'm not going to give away the end. Hats off to Rebekah Graniere!! I couldn't put this down, I was caught up by the love they both had for each other and couldn't see they felt the same for each other. Loved this book! Can't wait for the next one!!
Affina and Razor
Razor was a slave who was in love with princess Affina and was told to keep an eye on her, so they became best friends. When the castle was attacked, the Saber King sent him from Nova Aurora to Earth. Razor was sent to obtain land for the clan so they could move to earth. He was gone for twelve earth years, he was seventeen when he left. But it has only been a year on Nova Aurora because time passes differently.
The attackers were still chasing down the survivors after a year, so her father sent Affina through a portal to earth in order for their family line to survive.
Gerri Wilder met with her and called Razor to come help. Things were different than before because while he was three years younger than princess Affina before, he is now nine years older, but the feelings were still there.
Affina had thought that he had died. So their relationship started off rocky.
I didn't like Affina a whole lot. She was strong and capable but she was also snooty acting like she deserved better treatment because she was a princess.
Razor did what was asked of him and more.
I look forward to more stories in this world by this author.
Exhilarating
This is one of those stories that leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat with a box of Kleenex. This story takes you on the journey with a Princess and she is just thrown I to a world that is unknown to her. Reading this story you get a true feeling on just what this scared girl is going thru that knows nothing.
In walk Razor and her world seemed to get a little brighter, but the man she sees is not the same man she once knew. This story takes you on their discovery of themselves. Of course a story can't be without drama, but will that drama tear them apart?
This is a beautiful story and it pulls at your heartstrings with everything they are going thru. Rebekah did a wonderful job bringing you into this world. The perfect story makes you feel like you are right there and that's exactly this story does. Perfection!!
Until Next Time.... Tabi
This is a shifter book, but the world building behind it gives it a little sci-fi twist (to me anyway) which I love. We have a princess whose lost everything through war and has to escape her world (sabre shifters abound) through a portal that leads to earth. It appears that people from her world have done this in the past so she will not be alone. But much to her surprise it's someone she was close to when she was a girl and thought he was dead. It's hard for both of them as they have grown-up in much different worlds; after all she was a princes and he was a slave in their world. But it's a different story on Earth. But surprises and danger are coming and they must resolve their differences and feelings in order to stay alive. There is so much more I want to tell you, but I don't like to give spoilers. Let me say the story is not only action packed, but has secrets discovered, and love is found.
Affina is a princess without a castle. Things in the last year have been hard, she has lost so much. Razor was raised a slave but sent through a portal to secure a place for his clan. For him it's been about 12 years...but back at home only a year or so had past.
Former best friends shoved together, the last of their kind. Trying to find their places not just on Earth, but now with each other as well. Affina is amazing, she has lost so much. Yet she still has hope for the future and even love. Raze had to figure out a lot in the last few years. Knowing that it all depended on him doing the job given to him by the King. He has changed so much from the boy he once was, is there still anything of him left? This was a great book, and I really hope that we get to see more from this world. I would love to know more about the other sabers that are now through the portal.
TAMED UNDER THE MOON is the fourth book in the Wolf River series and was also released as TAMING HIS SABER in the multi-author Paranormal Dating Agency series.
This story is beautifully romantic. I read it in one day and I loved it! Shifters are even better when they come from off-world. Razor has been on earth for a decade as a lone shifter, but he has never forgotten Affina.
Leave it to Gerri Wilder to reunite Razor and Affina when the time was right. They are ready to rebuild their clan here on Earth. I never wanted it to end… bring on the cubs!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
While this was part of the Paranormal Dating Agency, Gerri Wilder was not really prominent. She was shown with a little more depth into her personal life than we normally see. Affina has had a struggle the last years. She has mourned for more of her family and friends as her clan has been hunted down. When she lands in the presence of Gerri, she finds that things aren’t really what she expected. Taming His Saber is a great story of a princess that isn’t so spoiled but still doesn’t realize the depth of troubles that others have endured. Razor struggles to be supportive for Fina and to resist her at the same time. There is a nice twist at towards the end. And Gerri has never failed yet. Taming His Saber was a great addition to the PDA world.
First of all I loved the cover of Taming His Saber and a great start to a new series and a great addition to the Paranormal Dating Agency.
This is a fast paced enjoyable paranormal, romantic suspenseful read with a great storyline with unexpected twists and craved to know what will happen when Princess Afina gets transported to New York and is put under the protection of her best friend who she thought had been killed, Razor Edge. The chemistry between Afina and Raze is strong yet they both want to ignore their true feelings.
I recommend this most enjoyable read and looking forward to the next book in this series.
This is a great story. I am a huge fan of the PDA world books. Raze is a saber shifter that came to earth twelve years ago to secure a place for his saber clan. Princess Affina was left behind with her clan to evade the attacking rival clan. They were close childhood friends but the years had created a distance and mistrust between them. When they reunite sparks fly. This story is strong and keeps your interest all the way through. My only complaint is his name. I find Razor's Edge to be a bit hokey but that's just me. I requested an ARC of this so that I could post an honest review.
Gerrie Wilder gets it right every time...Raz had worked hard since being sent through the portal to secure land for the clan...but he misses his Princess Affina. Ten years she mourned his death and never being able to bury him properly. Her father never let them know the truth. But now she was pushed through the portal to earth and they find each other...he's charged by Gerrie Wilder to keep and protect Affina. Let the dance began. With twists and turns the storyline is great. The characters awesome. Another paranormal dating agency great!
This is the first book in this series that I have read. While Gerri from the mating service appears a few times, it was almost like this particular book was less about mating and more on the plot. This is neither bad or good thing. Just an opinion
The problems Affina and Razor face are difficult but do they have the ability to withstand the obstacles to become a mated pair? Read to find out.
There are a few surprises that will have thinking "didn't see that coming".
Taming his Saber is a great book. It starts with Affina on the home planet and forced through a portal to Earth in order to save her from a rival clan of shifters. Little did she know that her best friend whom she thought was dead has been on Earth all that time. When reunited they discover that they are mates. Both Affina and Razor face struggles with their roles in the past and the future. Loved the twist near the end! This story can be read even if you've never read any of the Paranormal Dating Agency books.
Hillarious and really humorous describtion of clash of different cultural background. The author also briliantly described the loneleness in fully different country, how You miss, your family, your home. The plot has really suprising twist and everything is completely different, as it seemed. I had really good laught during the story. And I love this discussion especially well: "A women's merchant."
Tamed Under the Moon, Rebekah Ganiere's 4th book in the Wolf River series, is a good, solid read. The storyline is fast-paced and full of twists and turns. The characters are endearing and well developed. Both Razor and Affina undergo self-development and personal growth. I wish the story had explored more of the culture shock the Siberian Sabers experienced a little more. The romance was good but a little abrupt at the end. Overall, a good read that I would definitely recommend!
A shifter romance that will pull at your heart. This story is one that starts with sadness and death. Two sabers are reunited but the past and mistakes will keep them separated. They must forgive themselves and understand each other to admit what they feel for each other. A great addition to the paranormal dating agency world.
Fantastic story about Raze and Affina both who were very likeable with strong personalities. Affina was a fun character to read about and I enjoyed how she was able to adapt to situations. And Raze was a great character who was very caring. The chemistry was great with a HEA. Great additions to the Paranormal Dating world.
Loved Affina and Raze's story. Starting from when they were children to adults on Earth, nothing was as they thought it was. It's not until Gerri from the Paranormal Dating Agency gets them together that things start falling into place, only to implode more than once !! If you like paranormal romance with lots of twists this is the book for you !!
Boy this is one Gerri didn't see coming, oh I think she knew the reason why she couldn't find Razor a mate but I don't think she ever expected the trouble his mate would bring. The backstory comes late in the book, the first part is all about them reconnecting. Their new reality almost tears them apart but in the end they manage to remember they belong together.
My Opinion
I made it to chapter 9 of a 15 chapter book and I couldn't finish. Why was this book associated with Gerri Wilder? This isn't up to par with the others. These people were horrible and uninteresting. I couldn't care less what happened to them. No thank you. I definitely don't recommend.
Although in love with Affina, Razor’s bedroom had a revolving door. I get the time difference between planets, but sheesh! Affina was funny adjusting to earth’s habits, but her stubbornness could cause some problems.
Overall, this was a short, decent read. I wish it had been a little longer to allow for more interaction and development between the H/h.
