Rate this book

It was funny, interesting, sophisticated and a cooking book at the same time. It's hard to find this qualities together in a book.
You won't noticed that it finished until last page of your book.

Great cookbook that gives you an insider look at the Mafia. Read before you re watch Goodfellas and cook up some dishes for movie night with your 'Goodfellas.' My friend Rob made several of the dishes in this book: I would put them up there with the type of food you would expect to get at a 'mid' priced Italian restaurant - Buon appetito!

Joe Dogs not only provides good, solid recipes, but he thankfully interrupts the standard cookbook format with some classic mafia stories.

When I'm in the mood for a decadent, rich meal this is the go to cookbook. Also fun to read the adventures of Joe and his crew in between recipes.

I think this has to be one of the most enjoyable cookbooks I have ever read and the dishes are pretty tasty too.

I really enjoyed this book and reading about how he got away from the world of crime, but also enjoyed all his interesting dishes that he cooked for people and learning the recipes. His writing style made you laugh often although they’re definitely was a lot of stories about women being used by him and his friends however, in turn, it seems these women were not upset with this lifestyle. I bet he’s still on the run and probably always will be even though he’s in witness protection..

Great little book! Great recipes and very interesting stories about the author's illicit activities while a member of the "brotherhood".

Interesting story in general, I skipped a bit towards the end. But the recipes sound good.

The stories that accompany the recipes in this book are pretty standard (a.k.a. boring) Mob stories, and more than a few of the recipes themselves fell pretty flat when I tried them. This book, however, is worth its weight in gold for its marinara sauce recipe. Were it not for "Joe Dogs" Iannuzzi I probably would never have thought to add chicken broth and dry mustard to my sauce, but it's actually really, really good. (And yes, for all you veggies out there, vegetable stock works nearly as well.)
