This is a nice collection of stories by Eduardo Agualusa, all revolving around the theme of travel.
The author is quite talented, and can easily create an ambiance with only a few sentences, and within half a page he creates a whole imaginary environment for the strange characters that appear in these stories.
Most stories have a surreal aspect about them, often dealing with the supernatural, and they also leave room for interpretation.
As a consequence, however, some stories are very similar to one another in concept, and after reading 15 stories or so, it becomes a bit repetitive.
I read this book as part of a class of Portuguese Conversation.
This book is well suited for this, as most of the stories are short, so pupils can read one of them at home, and can then resume the story and give their opinion and interpretation about it.
