MATA was a gallery located at 3709 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles that existed from 2013–16. It was founded and run by artists Maria Garcia and Pat Murch. According to Garcia, "MATA was an empty space, a container to be filled. We trusted the artists we worked with to fill it. To make it their own. Even with our set rules, we attempted to let each event be a practice in letting go." This book compiles photographs documenting MATA's three years.
