Can an overprotective Dom and his sexy sub find the woman who will complete them? Together for years, Roarke and Sam have a strong relationship, yet it feels like something is missing... A woman. Another sub for Roarke to protect, cherish, dominate. A woman for Sam to cuddle and look after. But where will they find a woman who'll want the sort of relationship they desire?
Stressed after finding herself jobless, and nearly broke, Ava's issues around food and her body rear up. But then she gets a job working for the owner of Club Decadence, the most exclusive BDSM club in Austin.
But she isn't prepared for her attraction to sexy, dominant Roarke. And his charismatic, gorgeous partner.
What has she gotten herself in for?
This is the book that started the Doms of Decadence Series! Please note: Contains a Dom with a hand like a paddle, his partner who has an oral fixation and a heroine with body issues. MMF, includes MM, spanking, anal plugs.
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
Master Roarke and his submissive Sam have been together for years, but lately have been taking about adding a third person (female) to their relationship. When insecure Ava applies for a job as Roarke's PA, they realize that she's who they're looking for -- now they just have to convince her.
Her Old-Fashioned Boss is a good book that deals with the serious subject of eating disorders in addition to the BDSM menage romance. I would have liked to have seen more depth to the eating disorder story line but it was handled fairly well otherwise. The characters are intriguing and their dynamic as a triad is compelling. The writing is a little uneven in places, but overall it's a good book.
Her Old-fashioned Boss is the fourth installment in Laylah Roberts’ Old-fashioned Men series. In it, she chronicles the polyamorous romantic journey of Eva Scott and Roarke Landon and Samuel Brooks. Readers met Roarke and Sam in an earlier book as secondary characters. The romance between Roarke and Sam seems to be cooling down so they contemplate adding a third person to their relationship. They want an Lg who will fulfill Sam’s need to care for another and Roarke’s need to dominate. Destiny brings them together with Eva Scott. She is an Lg in need of a job. Her life has been a difficult one thus far. Once Roarke and Sam meet her they are smitten. Eva is attracted to them as well. Can they find happiness? To find out, you must read this book.
Ms. Roberts does a remarkable job with this old-fashioned romance. The characters are multi-dimensional. Their dialog is outstanding. Their internal monologues reveal their inner emotional turmoil. With her use of descriptive language Ms. Roberts. she paints vibrant scenes that makes the reader feel like they are right there. Nicely done, Ms. Roberts.
This might be my new Laylah Roberts' favorite. I had a dorky smile on my face for practically the whole book. I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed it. But even more so at how much I loved Sam. These 3 characters had good chemistry and overall it was really well done. But Sam was by far my favorite character. The main reason I didn't rate it higher was because the last bit of the story wrapped up almost too quickly.
This is a quick and enjoyable story about Ava who has just lost her job and is worried how she will manage. Luckily she has an interview as a pa at a BDSM club. Roarke not only owns the club he's also a Dom his long time partner Sam is his sub. For a long time they have hoped to add a woman to their relationship, but have never found the right one, that is till Ava arrives for her interview. But Ava is new to the BDSM scene so they have to go slowly, it doesn't help that she initially thinks they are gay. Ava has a personal issue she's embarrassed about, she fears that once Roarke and Sam find out they will discard her.
I really liked this story by an author who is new to me. Yes there are scenes of BDSM in this, but it's also sweetly romantic and emotional. The characters are likeable and sympathetically written.
Roarke, Ava, and Sam—what an incredible dynamic! The way they care for Ava is truly heartwarming.
Roarke is a man who has built walls around himself after the devastating loss of his brother, whom he had to make the agonizing decision to let go of after a car accident. He never fully recovered from that trauma. Somehow, Sam managed to push past those walls, and the two fell deeply in love. Roarke thought that was enough—until Ava walked into their lives. From the moment she showed up for her interview, he felt an undeniable attraction but tried to fight it. When Sam also showed interest, Roarke realized it wouldn’t be long before they claimed her as theirs.
Sam is a caretaker at heart. He loves Roarke deeply, but he knows something is missing in their relationship. Sam tries to fill that void with acts of service, as a natural service submissive, performing for his Dom/Master, Roarke. However, Sam is also a brat, delighting in pushing Roarke’s buttons to provoke punishment. Despite their love and connection, Sam senses that there’s still a missing piece—until Ava arrives.
Ava is struggling, lost in the world and facing her challenges alone. While she has a supportive group of friends, she doesn’t open up to them, keeping her struggles with self-worth and fear of failure to herself. When she goes to an interview, the last thing she expects is to be attracted to her potential boss and his boyfriend—let alone for both of them to want her too.
I loved this book because the characters are imperfect and flawed, which makes the story feel authentic and relatable. Their struggles and the love they build together create a beautiful and unforgettable journey.
I generally am not a fan of MM in my books, I kind of skim read MM scenes if they aren’t handled properly. But in this book you could really feel the love between the two main male characters, I like that their relationship was solid to start with and that they had a loving long-term relationship and friendship. I like the dynamic between the three of them, that it showed each character was well rounded and not just stuck in their “role”, in their relationship. The way Laylah Roberts handled the FMC’s eating disorder was brilliant. The way Rourke and Sam struggled with how to help her, and how to get her to face our eating disorder was also brilliant. Laylah Roberts did whitewash the problem, but also didn’t use it as the main problem of their relationship.
This was the first book of Laylah Roberts I’ve read, but it won’t be the last.
Her Old-Fashioned Oregon Daddy is beautifully written with so much emotion. I absolutely loved this one. So relatable and the characters were divine. It's a story about second chances, hope, sacrifice, trust, love, and forgiveness. Dusty and Ashley share a corrupt past, as time goes by wrongs are finally righted. They can finally put the past to rest. On this journey, Ashley is barely making it with her kids when Dusty returns. Will Dusty be what Ashley needs in her life or will fate have its way? This is a must-read book!! Rayanna Jamison makes these characters so real you can't help but feel you know them.
This book was just too forced. Everything seemed gratuitous. The relationships didn't feel real. The scenes you're probably reading it for we're not that long. There wasn't any build up. Most of the scenes fit the pattern of let's do this. We're doing this now for 2 to 4 sentences. End scene. Ava was a brat who didn't seem as I she could manage to live on her own. She was such a weak character. She has an eating disorder but that isn't what makes her weak. It's the rest of her behavior.
Roarke, and Sam are a couple we meet in a previous book, with Tom, the Doctor, who had blamed Roarke for " killing " his friend, by pulling the plug on his younger brother. Ava is an interesting character, with a history that caused her to develop an unhealthy eating disorder. Needing a job, she never would have thought she'd work at a BDSM club for the owner, as his PA. Turns out to be the best decision she ever made! Fantastic. HEA ending! Trish. A.
Ava. finds herself applying for a job as a PA at Roarke's club. Immediately his sub, Sam, finds himself wanting to include her as their sub, to be part of their threesome. What follows is a reverse harem that makes them all face and start to overcome fears, past history wounds and insecurities. Laylah has given us a treasure with insightful, beautifully written, dialogue and characters you will wish you knew in person.
Three people, each with very real, human problems. Ava; poor self esteem, lack of self control to the point that she is out of control. Sam: jusr wants to be loved and needed. Roarke: drowning in guilt over the death of his younger brother years ago. They all come together and when they become a family unit they help each other heal
While I’m most fond of Ms. Roberts’ Montana Daddies series, this addition to her Doms series is easily enjoyed with little prior series knowledge. A brilliant MMF story with plenty of relationship to balance out the bedroom hawt, the author perfectly portrays real and damaged people in a new BDSM dynamic. Loved it! 🥰
No plot spoilers No potential triggers There is a little swearing and some sex of a BDSM nature. There are some errors, mostly dropped articles, but nothing to get irritated about. If you are a fan of the genre I have no problem recommending the book. The characterisation is good and the plotline engaging enough to keep you turning the pages.
I did enjoy this book. I enjoyed the realistic issues facing the characters, the living relationships between them and the open way BDSM was featured. However, it felt like something was missing in the way the relationship blossomed and a lot of background felt left out. I wanted more. That to me says the author was in the right track.
A two fer? Whoa. And they are both hot. But why do authors give a bad rap to subbies? Poor subbies. That Rory woman was up to no good and abused her power. I wonder why Roarke doesn't have a Little playroom? Good storyline and characterization. And, it has some hot scenes in it.
Sam is Roarkes sub but they are missing something in their relationship. Ava is having a string of bad luck when she comes for a interview with the fellows. From there it is coaxing, seducing and some spanking to reach a HEA for all of them.
Roarke is the Dom and owner of several BDSM flubs, his sub Sam and him have talked about adding a third person to their life. Enter Ava a young lady who grabs their attention. This book was fantastic even though it still needs an editor or Beta reader.
This story was absolutely hot and actually one of the best MMF books I've read ! Roark ,Sean and Ava were awesome. Love these Old Fashioned stories! Great feels and heavy on the steam! Just the way I like it!
Her Old-Fashioned Boss by Laylah Roberts – This series is on kindle unlimited. I think I skipped over the third book in the series, but you really can read all the books as stand alones if you are ok with spoilers. A great community of characters who really take care of each other! Happy Reading!
If like bisexual Dom romance. This a book to read. The story is excellent, the guys hot. Ava is sweet. The plot is entertaining. No spoilers. Just read the book.
I loved this book so much. It was so good. I loved Sam and roarke so much. Ava is one lucky girl. I cant wait to read more about some characters in the doms of decadence series. I kinda wish this story was longer tho. I would definitely recommend
I think this is the best one of this series! Roarke, Sam, and Ava are just the perfect puzzle pieces connecting when Ava meets them for a job interview. Through small steps and learning to love herself as well as her two sexy old fashioned men, these three are so sweet!
This is a D/s, MFM romance, a sweet love story with lots of grief and overcoming personal guilt and fears. Plus of course lots of dirty sex and quirky sarcasm. Four stars just because there were some spelling errors and grammatical ones
No matter how many times I read this story I always love it more and more. Roark, Sam and Ava are such a sexy trio. Read them for yourself and see what I mean.
