Bay Area Bad Boys

Rate this book
DARK Romance Box Set that includes THREE Novels by #1 Bestselling author, Stasia Black (Crush Me, Please Me, and Woman Named Red):

CRUSH ME: How far is TOO far when it comes to protecting your family? Callie takes a position as more than just a personal assistant to billionaire tech guru Bryce Gentry. So he wants her to answer emails with her shirt off. So what? She worked at Hooters for years to get herself through college and it's not that much different. But when his demands get more and more invasive and he begins toying with her in front of his business rival, Jackson Vale, the job that was just supposed to pay for the lawyer in her son's upcoming custody hearing starts becoming more than she ever bargained for.

PLEASE ME: The conclusion to Crush Me. Callie's determined that no man will ever have the power to hurt her again. But the path to getting her life back on track is messier than she ever expected. Especially when the man she thought she'd left behind is ready to fight for her every step of the way. But can a woman like her, having gone through the things she's experienced in her life, ever truly expect a happily ever after?

WOMAN NAMED RED: (in the Crush Me universe, interacting with the previous characters)
Kennedy: Her name was Scarlet and she burst into my life as an explosion of color as bright as her name promised. But don’t get confused. This isn’t a love story. I don't do love. No, this is a story about a woman with a fiery temperament and passion for life to match her name. She and I were combustible together. Which means maybe we were always meant to burn to the f*@king ground.

Warning: All three of these novels contain dark themes and potential triggers which may be distressing to some readers.

About the author

Stasia Black

76 books2,101 followers
Stasia was born in Georgia, grew up in Texas, recently spent a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota, and now is happily planted in sunny California, which she will never, ever leave.

She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She lives with her own personal cheerleader, aka, her handsome husband, and their teenage son. Wow. Typing that makes her feel old. And writing about herself in the third person makes her feel a little like a nutjob, but ahem! Where were we?

Stasia’s drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).

This is an amazing box set!
Crush Me
This is one of those books that will haunt your dreams. It sucks you in and spits you out! From the first page I could not stop reading. Fair warning this is a very dark romance. All the unexpected twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat. Callie is my hero. She is faced with the horrible decision of how far will you go to save your family. Then she must face the consequences of her choices. By the end of this book my heart broke for Callie. I can not wait for the next book to see how this all turns out. For this being Stasia Black's first book she has blown me away! I will be adding her to my list of favorite authors. I will read everything that she writes!
Please Me
This is the conclusion of Crush Me. I could not wait to read this book. It was freaking amazing! Stasia Black exceeded my expectations. I love dark romances and this one is at the top of my favorites list. This is a lengthy read but we'll worth it. It's about survival and sacrifice. The lengths that a mother is willing to go to protect her child and tests the lines that should never be crossed. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. And don't worry there are plenty of hot and steamy sex scenes. I can't wait to read more by Stasia Black!
Burn Me
I absolutely loved this book! This is a dark, erotic, romance with lots of violence. There are so many twists and turns and the most unexpected things happen that I did not want to stop reading. This is a lengthy read but I finished it in 2 days. I could not read fast enough. Kennedy and Scarlet are such broken souls. My heart bled for both of these characters. I was completely consumed by their journey. Stacia Black is rising to the top of my list of favorite authors very quickly. I love that she has characters from her previous books reappear in this book. It's like Jackson and Callie's story hasn't ended. And just in case I forgot to mention, Stacia Black writes some of the hottest, panty melting scenes that I have ever read!

Tales of dark knights, distressed damsels, and worms that turn...

Many thanks to author Stasia Black for the ARC of this box set - what follows is my voluntary and independent review, and a caveat. CAVEAT: If non-con and coerced sexual activities are triggers for you, stop here. Do not read these books. Black puts the DARK in tall, dark, and handsome, with villains, heroes, and victims all steeped in twisted sexuality and shameful personal secrets. So, why read this stuff, you ask? Because it's rivetingly good storytelling. This author understands some disturbing truths about predation, sexual and otherwise. First off, monsters, like victims, aren't born -they're MADE. And the descriptions of the process are both realistic and terrifying, especially when they have nothing to do with sex. Secondly, not all monsters are bad guys. Some of these men and women are oddly decent but damaged human beings who come to recognize the monster within, and do their best to keep it chained. Until a loved one is victimized, or until a bigger monster tries to hurt an innocent - then they unchain the beast and turn it loose on the bad actors. These Bay Area bad boys are controlled, disciplined, kinky, good-hearted and grim survivors, and as such they enlighten and empower the women they rescue, showing the way up from helplessness, freeing friends and lovers to live a miraclulous HEA. I in each novel, I found myself disgusted at the depravity of the villains, righteously angry for their female victims, and fiercely proud of the ladies and their dark knights who join forces to defeat their oppressors. Stasia Black is a genius at pulling the reader in emotionally, and the three novels together form an immersion experience that will stay with readers after the last page is read. Issues of organization make this box set of three books read better as one long novel, as characters and plot lines tie in across book covers, and it isn't until the end that you see how far out the ripples of evil can spread, and how surprisingly satisfying the victims' justice feels.

The first and second books are about Calliope. She is a young mom who's in danger of losing custody, to her loser, married ex-lover. He wanted her to get an abortion, then when she didn't, he disappeared. A couple of years later him and his snooty wife want full custody of Calliope's son, and will do just about anything to get it. Calliope can't afford a better lawyer, unless she lands the job of personal assistant to a manipulative, controlling, handsome, arrogant, Bryce. Bryce can smell the desperation on Calli. He propositions her sexually, during her interview. Calli has always been used for her body, so she figures it would be a mutually satisfying proposition. She gets her high class lawyer, and Bryce gets a new assistant. Yeah, I know, your all thinking that Calli is crazy! No one would trade sexual favors for a job, but unfortunately, it does happen today. Women who are desperate for any type of help, will do anything for their family. Along the way Calli meets Jackson. There's an instant attraction. Jackson has been a victim of Bryce's before, and really wants to rescue Calli. Towards the end of book one, something tragic happens that we could all see a mile away, but that doesn't stop Calli. She plunges ahead, and after just about losing everything, including herself, she has to fight back not only for her life, but for the welfare of her child, and for the love of her man. Fantastic, riveting story!
The third book is about Scarlett and Kennedy. Kennedy discovers the beautiful Scarlett in a homeless soup kitchen, and his heart goes out to her. He brings a beautiful homeless woman home, to his house to care for her. Needless to say, he ends up caring about her. He has many demons in his past, but can he learn to put those aside to open his heart to love? Scarlett has many hidden secrets. Will she continue on her path of destruction, or listen to her heart and risk all?
These three books are so sexy hot. Their full of taboos, and desires. Run don't walk to the store to buy your copy! I loved it!

*I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this box set.*

Please be advised that there is some very dark moments in this set that may be triggers.

I’d like to address some things that were brought up in other reviews. First, the first book in this trilogy does not end in a HEA for Callie. But her emotional and riveting story continue in the second book. Secondly, another review mentions how “dumb” Callie is it’s so “annoying”. After reading her complete story, as told in the first two books, you can’t help but understand where she’s coming from and what leads her to make the choices she does. Stasia Black did an amazing job of writing a full story that truly digs deep into Callie’s life in these books. You will get to know her and see into her past to where it all started.

Callie is a struggling single mother trying to make ends meat. She seems to hit roadblock after roadblock just to try and get by. She thinks everything will finally turn around once she starts a new job as a PA for a tech company billionaire. Little does she know that her troubles are just beginning. I honestly found myself shaking my head at times thinking “don’t do it” with some of Callie’s decisions, but it all plays out in what I think are truly well written books. TRUST ME, IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE SECOND THAT IT TAKES TO READ THIS SET!!!!

I definitely think that the second book is the most emotional. I made the mistake of reading it in public while waiting for an appointment and found myself turned on and then nearly in tears within a five minute span. I think that Jackson is probably one of my absolute favorite characters EVER!

While the third book is not about Callie and Jackson, they do make a few appearances. This book features Kennedy and Scarlet and there secrets and a quest for revenge. Another great book!

Hardluck gals and the men that rescued them
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my 3rd book by the author and she quickly engages you in the hard luck life of Callie in the 1st 2 books and Scarlett in the 3rd.

Crush Me – Callie is desperate to find a job or face eviction. When Bryce offers Callie to be his personal assistant with benefits, she has no choice but to accept. Bryce introduces Callie to Jackson, his ex-partner at a private lunch where Bryce tries to get Jackson to partner with him again. Jackson works with Callie on the discussions, but Bryce won’t agree to the partnership. Add in Callie’s ex and son’s father trying to get full custody of their son drama and you are well engrossed in Callie’s story. Will Callie and Jackson get together? Will Callie get the promotion offered by Bryce? Or will it all get so screwed up that Callie feels she is crushed?

Please Me – Callie starts working at Jackson’s company and soon they are back together. But Bryce turns the screw on Callie to betray Jackson. Will Callie steal Jackson’s prototype to get her son back? You have to read to find out.

Burn Me – Kennedy is working at a soup kitchen to improve his brand after a bad breakwith his ex-girlfriend. Scarlett comes in and quickly catches Kennedy’s attention. Kennedy offers Scarlett to stay at his place after she is attacked. Scarlett offers a solution to be Kennedy’s personal chef for staying at his apartment and a small salary. But the dynamics quickly change between them. But Scarlett has a hidden agenda and Kennedy has a few skeletons in his closet. Will they make it out the other side together, you have to read to find out.

This box set has three books, with the first two a duet (Crush Me and Please Me), and Burn Me has recurring characters but is essentially a standalone. Callie Cruise is desperate for a job. She has a young son whose father has suddenly decided he wants custody and is going to drag her through the court. She ends up working for Bryce Gentry-this is one of those “if it sounds too good to be true” things. Bryce involves his old school mate Jackson Vale into their work. I didn't know where the author was going, who was good, or if there even *was* a good guy. Great psychological mind games going on. Serious trigger warning for book one. In book two, things are clearer. The strength of the main characters comes out, their histories. Jackson was absolutely perfect for Callie. Really enjoyed the way justice is done, including with Charlie's father, and how the main characters heal each other. Burn Me was quite a long story, broken into two parts. I thought Part one was a bit slow compared to Part 2 but it was setting the story up so well. Scarlet has many plans and many secrets, and they all involve Kennedy Benson. I enjoyed the storyline, so no spoilers, but I found these books to have some wonderfully unexpected parts, with good character development, action, and a variety of kink scenes. Intense, emotional at times, very engrossing reads.

I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.

**Warning. Spoilers and frustrated reader!

Just a heads up, this book is TRIGGER crazy for anyone who’s experienced sexual abuse.

I’m reading the second book now and I’m having sooo much trouble getting through it. It’s that frustrating type of book you want to stop because you kinda hate it, but also wanting to know how it ends because you’re already invested and the small reasons you like the characters.

I want to scream at Callie for all her super bad choices. I want to murder Gentry and her ex and that nasty wife of his. The complete injustice in this book is totally ruining it for me. I’m so pissed she just won’t lean on Jackson. He’s also a millionaire and could probably stand up against Gentry. I mean, Jackson has obviously fallen for Callie and hates Gentry, what better motivation would he need?!

I don’t know if the author wanted to bring possible real life situations into the story, (I read this because I enjoyed her writing in The Stud Ranch books) but it’s ruining the reasons why I love romance, the happy feeling you get, the warm and fuzzies. This one is making me feel like I need to watch a Disney movie to find some happy because the world is a dark terrible place and it’s seeped over into the books I love!

Okay, I know, dramatic lol. But damn, she ended the first book on a gang rape. Who does that?! 🤬🤦🏻‍♀️

Okay. I’ve updated my rating after finishing the second book. I’m happy with the ending, and the way things finally worked themselves out. But it was still really hard to get through and I think might have spoiled this author for me.

2 stars overall

My main issue throughput all 4 stories is that there were too many mentions of past sexual partners and outside of the relationship sex scenes and mentions - especially books 2 and 4. I don't feel like that belongs in romance books. It's unromantic and ruins books for me. The first and second stories were two halves of a whole. The main problem with those, besides the outside the relationship sex, is the character inconsistencies. I realize the characters went through stuff that would bring on certain personality changes and behaviors, but this was excessive. I thought the 3rd story ending could have been better and the whole story dragged on too much. The 4th story didn't feel done quite right. There were issues with editing all throughout the entire book. I did like books 1 and 2 aside from what I mentioned. Book 3 had a couple characters from books 1 and 2, and I would have liked it better without the "big misunderstanding" stuff and with a better ending. I'm not disturbed by 4, and there were good parts. Overall, 2 stars for all 4 books together.

CRUSH ME - Full length book one of series. I would not call this a romance or erotica, but it is very dark. It does NOT end with HEA, but instead with you needing next book. It keeps your interest and pulls you in and makes you want to keep reading. Other reviews have complained about Callie but I really felt like she was young and naive and trying to make the best decisions in an impossible situation. I will absolutely be reading the next in the series.
PLEASE ME - Full length book two of series. Absolutely should read book one first to get the full story. I did not think book one was a romance or erotica, but holy- moly this book has an abundance of both!! Begins with Callie again making questionable decisions, but stick with it because boy is Jackson worth it!! Jackson is sooooo patient and great for Callie, he is just awesome! I liked this book so much more than book one and I am glad I stuck with the series. I loved the HEA and epilogue!!
I need a break before reading book three BURN ME

This is a three book series in one.
The first two books coincide with one another, with the second book finishing the first book. The third book has touches of the two main characters from one and two, but is a completely different story.
Each one is pretty dark, so if you're not into that, this is not for you!
1, Crush Me, and 2, Please Me, are quite twisted and make you want to hurt someone in the process, they are so well-written. Crush Me was really getting to me with everything that was going on. Thankfully, Please Me was written to notnonly give the story a well-rounded ending, but to please all my senses. Amazing work!!!
3, Burn Me, deals with love, regrets, and revenge. But, who is vengeful against whom? This book keeps you guessing as to what will happen and who is the real bad guy due to the story-line of past and present circumstances. Once again, though, a truly magnificent book!!!
I LOVE Stasia's writing style and just HOW realistic her stories seem.

The first two stories, Crush Me and Please Me center on heroine, Calliope/Callie. Sexual abuse in her childhood seems to lead her into repeating a similar pattern in her efforts to protect those she loves. She takes a high paying job with a manipulative boss, Gentry, who also preys on her sexually., but she needs the money to pay for a custody battle for her son. She meets our Hero, Jackson, who seems too good to trust. He happens to be "friends" with Gentry, but she can tell he's hiding a barely contained resentment towards her boss. To break free from Gentry, Callie has to withstand gut-wrenching treatment and the second book features her like a phoenix rising out of the ashes. Callie and Jackson both struggle with trust issues that will either kill their relationship or create a mutual bond against their common nemesis.

There is a lot of graphic sex and possible triggers for people as the dark and twisted nature of the antagonist keeps the stories intense. I've just started reading the third story so I will edit this review when I complete it.

Three : Crush Me, Please Me, Burn Me.
Callie, single with son. Accepting a PA job, a deal with Bryce Gentry (the devil). Taking advantage of her situation, but finds Jackson Vale, the totally opposite of Gentry. Jackson is good hearted and has dealt with Gentry in the past. Suspense, hot sex & dark but well written book!
Gentry did so much to Callie, that she has to rebuild herself. Self defense classes and meeting Lydia, who starts working for Jackson Vale’s. Hurt/crushed, needing control over her life. Jackson won't give up on her. Awesome book. Juggling with a trio love : Jackson/Callie, Callie/son and especially the love to believe in herself.
Meet Kennedy and Scarlet. Two opposites crossing paths. Love or Revenge ? Insane relationship, twists and turns, turbulent. a quest for revenge. action, and a variety of kink scenes. Intense, emotional at times, very engrossing & realistic reads.

I received a complimentary copy of this book with no requirement for leaving a review. This review is being left voluntarily and any and all thoughts are my honest opinions on this book and the authors work. This is a great selection of three books. Please me is a continuation of Crush Me and Burn Me can be read as a standalone. There is danger, plenty of angst, drama, action and hot sexy scenes. These books are intense! They grab your attention quickly and hard and leave you with a book hangover. The writing was smooth and engaging. The characters so well written you could identify with them. The devil is in the details throughout these books. I cant say enough how much I enjoyed reading these three books.

I really enjoyed reading this book set. It really did run on the dark side of things but that is a good thing. Books should not always be sunshine and rose's. This women needs a job to help her fight her ex in a custody battle. She gets the job from hell and has to put up with it to save her child. She had a very difficult life but keeps pushing on. She meets a man that. Brings out a side of her that she didn't know existed. Little does she know they both have the same enemy. The villain is a horrible human being and causes suffering to all the innocent people he comes in contact with. If you are not sensitive read these books, if you are it is not for you to read.

I received this box set with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In each of these books we find boys who are more than willing to show the women they are with what an alpha male is really meant to do for his woman. Each of them have their challenges but they find that if they win their prize it is worth more than they ever thought possible. Can they have it all in the end or will they loose everything before they can claim their prize?

These are amazing books that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There are many ups and downs that I really want to tell you all about. I however don't want ruin it for any other readers. I will say I would highly recommend this set to anyone and everyone.

This book's bad boys are waaaa-aaayyyyy beyond "bad." Their downright nasty! It's hard to read, I felt, but that's because the writer has done her job and made the story so real. Yes, it's over the top, but this is fiction. I can only pray that these things don't happen in real life. If you are willing to read about sexual villains who humiliate, degrade, objectify and demand sex from women, this is your book. If you want to read about strong women who make the best life that they can despite trying circumstances, who may give in to the bad boys, but who know when to fight back, this is your anthem.

I received an ARC for this book.

LOVE THIS BOX SET!!! I love dark romance, it's almost an obsession. I was told about this author and blow me over with a feather, I loved all 3 books.

Don't ask me a favorite...I can't decide. I had a hard time putting it away to sleep but I jumped back into them when I woke up.

Devilishly dark and perfectly told to hold the hooks into you. The characters stay attached to you. The writing is indescribable. I am going to be reading more books from Stasia that's for da*m sure. She has a fan for life!!

Take a walk on the dark side....you'll love these stories!! I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Trigger Warnings: Non-consent and forced sexual activity. Don't read if you can't handle them.

These Bay Area bad boy stories were utterly riveting and dark! Callie and Jackson's story in Crush Me and Please Me was heartrending and intense, and at times ugly and difficult to take. The BDSM parts were scintillating and steamy, and the story and plot were amazing. I was hooked.

Scarlet and Kennedy are at odds with each other, and without trust, how can you stay together? This was another dark story filled with lies and deception, yet the chemistry between Scarlet and Kennedy could not be denied. I loved these dark stories.

This box set was amazing, the stories grab you and won't let you go till you have finished the last page and then you sigh with relief when the last page is read. The drama and suspense nearly killed me and then the dark eroticism stirred me. The characterisation was too real, the story lines so dark an intense, the twist and turns making this box set of stories one of the most enthralling reads of all time.

Such a wonderful growing up story about one woman whose road to that growth is full of pitfalls and some bad decisions. Gentry, a CEO, who is an a** and cheese up women and spots them out. Vale, a once business partner, is free to Callie also. Callie is a single mother who's in the process of losing her son to the man who wanted her to get an abortion. Each story builds on the other as Callie grows and tried to make better choices.

This is an incredibly erotic set of stories. The storylines are interconnected and have chemistry, lust, humiliation, blackmail, deceit, flawed characters, BDSM and finally justice. A Warning, this set touches on trigger-type situations. These are well-written storylines and while you won't like some of the situations you will like Stasia's writing. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Superb set of books by this talented writer.
These books all have very strong storylines with a few twists and turns to pull you futher in. There are characters you will love, some you will hate and others your not sure about but you will most definitely want to see there all their warped paths lead. Be warned these are dark erotic romances so some of it gets quite horrifying but this is balanced out by love and support .
Highly recommended!!!

THese are connected office romances that have dark romance vibes/scenes. There is a lot of power exchange and dominance which I loved. I do feel like I should make clear there are some scenes in these books that may be triggers for some. Please be advised. Ms. Black delivers with these stories and the dark romance genre is better for it.

The third book has touches of the two main characters from one and two, but is a completely different story. The first two books in this set relate to Callie and Jackson.
