Strong woman, smart man, lots of sex. The author faced the doctor/patient issue and made sure nothing happened until she was discharged from his care. The hero also wanted to learn to ride a horse, which also helped even out any potential power differential. I like that the heroine did not give up her life for the hero.

Marti Jenkins meets the doctor all the women in town are talking about when she twists her ankle in a gopher hole after shooting a snake.
Dr. Eli Boone is in Whispering Springs to cover his friend Hank Kelly while he's off doing some advanced training. The Clinic Hank runs is pretty awesome with everything an orthopedic patient could need, physical therapy, x-ray, and more.
When he finds Marti has torn ligament he puts her in an air cast telling her to keep off it.
She's going to do her best but with her parents heading of on a much deserved vacation, she may not get as much off her feet time.
With her parents finally off, she does have an event to attend. The hospital auxiliary was started by her grandmother and this fundraiser was very important to them and her family. In a nice turn of events the Doctor asks her to attend with him.
Now some very interesting things happen both before and after this event.
First a confrontation with Marti's ex-fiancé's father, which she then explains to Eli. But the most fun comes when they reach the ranch after the party.
A searing kiss and a new foal are the beginnings of a relationship. One with lots of potential for both of them.
Getting Eli on a horse to fulfill his promise to Joe, a young amputee, is very entertaining.
We also get to see the Montgomery clan and Delene and Tina in this one as well. Zack and Chad really need to step up their game and win these ladies.
Plenty of heat, fun, laughter and tears in this page turning romance.

Marti Jenkins has had enough of men for a while she is still reeling from her engagement that ended almost a year ago. But then a sprained ankle puts her in the path of handsome and sexy Dr. Eli Boone, and her girl parts start sending out sending out signals that she had not had in a while. She had been told that Dr. Dreamy was the hottest ticket in town and she did not really want to start anything with him, especially because he was only going to be in town a few months.
Eli Boone was told to stay away from the girls from town, as the they saw white wedding dresses and white picket fences whenever there was a new hot guy around. So, he did his dating and hooks up outside of town. But when Marti lands in his clinic, all bets were off. He never had such an instant attraction to this sexy cowgirl. He wants to stay away, but a patient that he has in his clinic challenges him to get up on a horse again and Marti is the gal for the job to help him with this challenge.
I loved Marti and Eli. I love the instant sizzle these two had right from the beginning and Cynthia D’Alba keeps that going throughout the book. But she makes you sigh when this big city doctor turns on the charm and this small-town cowgirl Marti can’t resist him. Especially when one night in the barn watching a foul come into the world has him sending treats to the horses and barn cats. What girl could resist him.

Marti Jenkins has no interest in a relationship, not after her engagement ended like it did. Enter Dr. Eli Boone, who has come to Whispering Springs as a favor to his friend. Eli isn't interested in a relationship either but he's not adverse to a no-strings relationship. When a patient presents him with a challenge, he turns to Marti for help - and this may just turn not only his life on its head but also Marti's. Can two people from two different worlds find happiness?
This is a quick read and Ms. D'Alba makes an effort to provide the reader with a cast of characters beyond Marti and Eli. While this is the ninth book in this series, you do not need to have read the previous books. Marti is intent on demonstrating to her parents that she can manage their ranch while they take a vacation but that doesn't mean she can't have fun. The attraction between Marti and Eli is electric and it is no surprise when they are drawn to each other.
Because this is so short, however, it sometimes feels like Ms. D'Alba relies on common romantic tropes to move the plot along. There were moments where I wish I had more insight into how Marti and Eli feel towards each other, rather than being told what they feel towards each other. Despite this, I thought this was a cute read.

Author Cynthia D'Alba has written another fun and entertaining novel with Texas Daze, the ninth book from her Texas Montgomery Mavericks series. It is a nicely-paced read, replete with an engaging plot, two well-defined main characters, and a complicated, yet seductive romance. The story takes place in the small town of Whispering Springs, Texas, where finding true love is a bit challenging. Although this book is part of a series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
Martha Gale Jenkins, aka Marti, is a genuine cowgirl. She loves being a rancher, and has completely immersed herself in her work while she picks up the pieces from a failed engagement. Lots of pain due to an injured ankle brings her to Dr. Eli Boone, the new but temporary orthopedist from New York City. Dr. Boone is smart, hot, and funny, and the attraction they share is undeniable. Marti and Eli are total opposites and they are not looking for a commitment, however, they end up spending time together which evolves from lust into love.
Ms. D'Alba has become one of my favorite authors and I always enjoy her effortless writing style. This is an well-written story, and Marti and Eli are interesting, complex and genuine. They are a hot and fun couple, both in and out of the bedroom. If you enjoy a novel with a lot passion and energy, then pick up a copy of this book.

Cynthia D'Alba writes hot cowboy stories. I am in love with her Montgomery men and Whispering Springs stories. This time, however, the wrangler is a woman, a real life cowgirl!
Marti has been raised on the ranch, riding since she was two. Now her parents are taking an extended vacation and trusting her to oversee everything. This is what she has dreamed of her entire life.
Eli is the new "hot doctor" in town. Marti has heard about him through the gossip grapevine, from her best friend Delene. When Marti is forced to go to the doctor and happens to meet "Dr. Hottie," the sparks are obvious and immediate. Of course, he is only around temporarily, while the regular doctor is off at further training. Then Eli will go back to a prestigious position in New York City.
Two attractive, intelligent and driven people with very different dreams, lifestyles and future plans. Is love strong enough to make them rethink their future? To make up for the sacrifices necessary for them to move forward together?
I liked the obstacles that made theirs an unlikely love story. I liked the back story and history given for why each is single. It showed much about their character. And I could feel the attraction that does not want to be denied.
A great love story to escape into.

I realized when I began reading that Texas Daze seemed very familiar. After doing a little research I found it must be the first book by Cynthia D'Alba that I read. It was in an anthology titled, When Things Got Hot in Texas. When I reviewed the anthology I stated that “Texas Daze by Cynthia D’Alba is another favorite of mine in the anthology as a minor injury sends a cowgirl straight into the arms of a New York bound doctor.” I gave it five stars then and have not reason to change now.
This Texas Montgomery Mavericks book 9 has genuinely likable characters in a believable story-line. Eli is a man who does back down from a challenge. Marti is a strong, independent woman. Both are carrying around too much baggage, so why not drop some of it. Many of the Montgomery Clan make an appearance in the story. Just love this family.
Since I first read it before any of the other books in the series, I can clearly say it reads well as a stand-alone. Calling all cowboy romance fans this is a series to fall in love with.

This is a very fast pace fun read that holds you attention giving the reader something to really smile at. The chemistry between Eli and Marti's is hot, leaving the reader doing some heavy fanning. When a New York surgeon meets a Texas cowgirl sparks fly and gets very interesting. Both have their own fears and will have to deal with a few issues. I really enjoyed the writing as the author pulled me in giving me scenes they felt so real and natural. I also enjoyed when Eli mother came into the picture and how that all worked out. When the foal was born that was a very touching and remembering scene that really touched my heart.

You can’t stop yourself from smiling as you go from scene to scene. The scenes are so vivid you almost feel like you are there. At first glance, this Western romance would appear to be light-hearted with humour and sizzle to keep the reader smiling. However, both Marti and Eli have suffered in ways that leave scars on the soul that prevent them from making commitments. It is only in order to win his bet that Eli allows himself to be drawn in by Marti's down-to-earth approach to life, as well as her strength and willingness to face up to her difficulties without looking for ways of escaping them. The story is well written with a romance that develops in spite of Eli and Marti's best intentions. They are such different characters and yet they have so much to offer each other. One wonders all the way through how it is going to be possible for them to find their HEA, but love is a strong motivator. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the setting and the characters involved. I received a copy of this book for free as a gift, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This was a fun and sexy short story. Dr. Eli Boone was in Whispering Springs Texas for only a short 6 months then its back to New York and a life that he's always wanted. Marti Jenkins has lived her life on her parents ranch The Flying Pig. Ranching is in her blood and what she loves. Meeting the hot new Dr. was not on her to-do list and not after she's sprained her ankle. Sparks fly but you don't date a patient but after she released Eli can't stop himself and asks Marti out. If asking her to teach him to ride because of a wager all the better to spend more time with her.
I think I loved Marti more then Eli. She is such a spitfire and with a quick whit that she made me laugh. Eli is very sexy and sweet and knows just what to say to make you sigh. You could feel their friendship growing and I think that's what I liked the best about the story. A must read!

I really enjoyed this story by Cynthia D'Alba.
Marti Jenkins loves her work on her family ranch and injuries come with the job so twisting her ankle in a gopher hole isn't surprising even though it pisses her off. After trying to avoid the doctor for days her mother finally makes the appointment and isn't taking no for an answer. The appointment gets a lot more interesting when the new doctor walks into the exam room.
Dr. Eli Boone is working at his friends clinic for six months and then heading back to the big city where he belongs, but meeting Marti is the perfect "pick me up" that he needs. He hasn't been on a real date since moving to Texas and she definitely has his attention.
They have no idea that their chance meeting is going to turn each other's world upside down.

Texas Daze is a fun small town romance by Cynthia D'Alba. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. D'Alba has provided readers with a well-written book populated with an entertaining cast of characters. Marti is running the family ranch while her parents are off on vacation, even if she does have a sprained ankle. Eli is covering his friend's orthopedic practice while he takes off for months of a fellowship. Eli and Marti's story is packed with drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed reading Texas Daze and look forward to my next book by Cynthia D'Alba. Texas Daze is part of the Whispering Springs, Texas Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Texas Daze by Cynthia D'Alba takes place in Whispering Springs. it is a small town. this is Dr. Elias (Eli) Boone an orthopedic surgeon from New York and a local lady, Marti Jenkins' story. It is a classical story of country vs city but it is also a story of how everyone else sees things that we fight. Marti is running her parents ranch and Dr. Boone is running from bad memories. Cynthia D'Alba writes an interesting story that makes you feel like it is your friends story and you get to see it from all sides. It is a story that keeps your interest.

Thank heavens for gopher holes, because that was the reason Marti Jenkins ended up at Riverside Orthopedic Clinic. Super sexy Dr. Eli Boone was filling in for 6 months for a friend. Both felt something when they saw each other and it was only the beginning. But a horse having a foal, stopped any romantic plans on one night, but it only made each other wanting the other more. I could go on and on about the book but there is no way that I'm going to ruin it for the reader. I'll put it this way, it gets so hot and heavy that you will want to sure to have the fan or air conditioner on because as the book gets hot and steamy.

Marti Jenkins is a sweet, sexy, strong and huge hearted rancher with a bad experience on an almost trip down the aisle. Now focused on her family ranch she is so not looking for love or forever. Dr. Eli Boone is only in town for six mouths to cover his friends practice while he is away. After losing his wife seven years ago he is not in the market for forever either.... Loved this beautifully written romantic journey and Whispering Springs, Texas.

Marti and Eli have an intense attraction to one another but Marti isn't interested in a relationship and Eli is only in town for a short time. So what do they do? They agree to have fun while they can. However, things don't always go as planned. Marti doesn't see herself doing anything other than working on the family ranch and Eli has his own medical practice in another state. Can these 2 overcome these obstacles and compromise to be together? Or will past experiences keep them apart?
Very likable characters, steamy scenes, laugh out loud moments, and lots of chemistry. What's not to love? A great, quick, easy read.

Texas Daze is a fast paced, fairly quick read if you get addicted to it like I did!
This one grabs your attention quickly and keeps you turning the pages until the very end. I loved Marti & Eli, she being a strong heroine is one of my favorite things. She's fiercely independent and deeply rooted in Texas, her friends and family.
Eli is a pretty great hero as well, being an upper class doctor doesn't stop him from getting his hands dirty or falling for a cowgirl, not to mention being pretty damn sexy and bringing the heat.
I loved this book, read it nearly nonstop until and cannot wait to go back through this series from the beginning.
This one grabs your attention quickly and keeps you turning the pages until the very end. I loved Marti & Eli, she being a strong heroine is one of my favorite things. She's fiercely independent and deeply rooted in Texas, her friends and family.
Eli is a pretty great hero as well, being an upper class doctor doesn't stop him from getting his hands dirty or falling for a cowgirl, not to mention being pretty damn sexy and bringing the heat.
I loved this book, read it nearly nonstop until and cannot wait to go back through this series from the beginning.

This is the first book I have read in the Whispering Springs Series but it will not be my last. I love the characters within this small town. In Texas Daze your main character is a female Rancher Marti tough as nails but still maintains her feminine side. Introduce Dr. Eli who is only in Whispering Springs for a short time to cover for the Dr of the town. You could not have a more opposite family traits. Eli comes from the high Society and his mom a true uppity snob only wants him to focus on Society appearance. But what the heart wants is not so easy to ignore. I love this opposite couple and the heat and love between them. A must read!

A hot, short, sexy read!! What a great story with horses, a cowgirl and a hot as heck doctor!!! Great characters and storyline!. This is the first book in this series for me and I plan on reading the rest!!! A must read!!!

this was a first book of yours i read and just wow! she is getting over a near marriage and he is getting over the death of the woman he loved. he is a temporary doctor and she needs his help. sparks fly between these two , but will it last? read to find out.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.

Marti and Eli's story is hot. The chemistry oozes off the page. Even if neither of them is looking for anything, they sure found it. I loved their story. I definitely recommend it.
