In the future there is no war, no famine and no poverty. In the future the zombies didn’t come. The apocalypse didn’t happen and no virus wiped-out humanity.
In the future the world is good. All levels of government are gone, overthrown and replaced by eight corporations collectively known as Octagon. In their hands they control all facets of society for the benefit of everyone.
There is order, minimal crime and a content, well-fed society. Or so it seems…
But if everything is so good, so perfect, then why does Jon Kobe, a First Year law enforcement graduate feel that something is not quite right with the world he lives in?
When the tortured body of a young girl is discovered in an alleyway, branded with a symbol meaning Hell, Kobe begins to see the frayed-edge of his world and the horrors that lie beneath. Below the surface of this idyllic society, awaits the sadistic truth where human lives are just fodder for the entertainment of the privileged few. For Kobe to survive, he must find the courage to abandon everything that he believes in and become something that he is not.

Electrifying futuristic reading.
You have a young cop with his senior partner investigating a young girl's death. In comes the head of this cop organization who can decide who lives and who dies who tells them to leave it alone. Well they don't and it results in the female partner getting killed and young Kobe the young cop getting sent to prison. Which turned out to be a literally death camp fight or die camp. And it goes from there and it's action packed full of action all the way through to the end . You get to know all these people in this camp and you get invested in their lives and you root for the good and hopefully they're survival but you know some will live in some. And up to the end you keep hoping they all make it especially your main character Kobe. No spoiler alerts anyone .

I had no idea what to expect from this book. I was just told it was dystopian in nature.
Wow, did it ever exceed my expectations! I surely did not see what was happening coming at all.
Kobe was at ground zero. Didn't know what to expect because this wasn't the world he was to have believe to have existed. Now, all he had to think about was survival.
This was a complete page turner with action on almost every page. It had some gore but not enough to turn me off. It was fitting for the book's circumstances.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for rip roaring action with a twist.

Wow - I really enjoyed this book - so much so when the second book was launched I had to read it pretty much straight away. Great story, full of action. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic book. Octagon really makes you look at the world. What's real and what isn't? I highly recommend this sci Fi thriller!
