As a kid these would probably be a great introduction to the subject matter but the content is very sparse and the stories mentioned only get a couple of sentences. Most pages are taken up by a very large piece of artwork which is usually quite charming in a nostalgic way. For a more in depth look at the subject you would be better off with Usborne's classic Ghost books
