At the time of their graduation, wizards summon a creature to become their aid through life. Responding to a dare, Yuval of Aelion performs this summon far before his time. In punishment for the transgression he is banished from Aelion, his summon sealed away. Disgraced, he vows to recover his rightful summon at any cost.
While trespassing at a temple, warrior Amath is sucked out of his dimension and brought to an entirely different one. Before he can even comprehend what is going on, he’s sealed away in a crystal, only to be unsealed what is clearly years later. Hoping to find a way home, he agrees to temporarily help the wizard who has freed him.
Will Yuval be able to control his demon the time to convince him to stay, or will the demon consume him first? Will they find a way home for Amath? And will he want to leave when they do?

2.5 The story was great. The writing needed some improvement. It's my guess that English is not the author's first language and that this has been translated into English. Certain turns of phrase didn't work out and often the incorrect word was used. Unfortunately editing issues like that can usually be overlooked as long as if doesn't happen consistently, but it did here and affected my enjoyment of the story
This one felt amateurish and slightly disjointed. But this is a free book and I do take that into consideration.
It started out quite promising but went to plain fast. The speech pattern sometimes felt modern and out of touch with the supposed time period. I felt that there were too many tell and not quite enough show. There were some character moments but no real developments.
The sex scenes were hot and I give props for adding to the plot. But not after the first two scenes.
Perhaps I judged this too harshly by comparing to Megan Derr's work. But Ms. Derr's early works still read smoother than this.
There are rooms for improvements, if the authors wants to work on it.
cute fantasy romance. The story telling is little bit like the old tales, telling the adventures individually. Both of the main characters counterbalance each other perfectly. There is this bond of the summons and implicit attraction, but how they actually fall in love is off page which is a bit of a shame.
I loved Demon Ties ! :D I really like the dynamics between the two characters and the whole fantasy setting of this story. Also the side characters were interesting and I'd love to know more about them :) A happy ending, for a hot story like I love them <3
I liked the characters and premise. I think it was good enough for a free book. I knew it was an m/m romance but was not expecting there to be sex scenes so I was a bit surprised when those came along haha. I find sex scenes in general (not just in this book) very cringy to read so I skimmed past those. Also, there were a few typos. But overall, it's a decent quick read.
