She is from a very well known, well to do family. She is at the country club today for a horse ride. Caroline, despite wealth and status is nothing like her parents, she has a heart, she has feelings, and she has her sights set on the hunky stable boy.
He has no father any more, he has a drunk for a mother and a brother he needs to keep out of trouble as well as keep him well. The weight of the world lands on Dean's shoulders daily. He takes whatever job he can to keep money coming in. When she stops and talks to him, it is game over.
Caroline and Dean meet on a day that neither expected. Caroline is from a wealthy family, Dean works the stables. They seemed doom from before they even locked eyes. This, however, does not stop the fire between them. Secretly meeting up, or at least for the time being secret. Then Caroline's mother catches on and calls her out. Deciding she has had enough Caroline goes and finds Dean at his house....on a particularly bad day. His mom is drunk and screaming, when Caroline is introduced Dean's mother states something that seems off. A secret? a drunk talk with nothing behind it?
Then a big event happens, at the country club. Dean intercedes the event between Caroline and a guy her parents are trying to hook her up with (all part of the status thing) but Dean's brother shows up, there is something even bigger that happens. Dean takes the wrap. Caroline tries to visit him, but Dean sends her away - in his mind doing the right thing by having her forget about him and move on.
Now 7 years later, he is free (not only of where he was, but of his mom, his brother and his money situation.) Caroline is free of her parents as well. Although both of them seem to get drawn in somehow at times. Dean and Caroline run into one another, talk about awkward. Dean is back in town due to his brothers medical condition, and this time it is dire. When Caroline finds out she goes to Dean's family house and the secret his mom has been holding on to is exposed. It involves Caroline's dad (and parents,) Caroline, Dean and his family.
Then things progress from there. Tests, a gift that is beyond all gifts is freely given, a person leaves, dad and daughter become closer and truly get to know one another. Love blooms, hearts change, feelings are revealed and mended. All of this leads up to Dean and Caroline having their happy ending.
Dean headed off to work at the stable while his younger brother stayed home to “babysit” their drunk mother. Dean’s coworkers were saddling horses for a group of rich teens at the country club. The female Dean assisted captured his full attention. She was different from the others somehow.
Caroline met up with her friend, Stephanie, for dinner and told her all about Dean at the stable. Having met him just this one, she could not get him out of her head. All the way home, she thought of him and was halfway up the stairs before she realized she had made it home!
Dean and Caroline were comfortable with each other and talked about what was important to them. He was surprised that she wasn’t like the typical “trust fund” type. And for the first time, he shared details of his own life as well, which he had never done with any other female. He was surprised to find that he actually wanted to get to know her!
Caroline’s parents found out she was seeing him and threatened to cut her off financially. But she and Dean continued to sneak out to be together. Eric, a rich kid chosen by Caroline’s parents, tried to threaten Dean to leave her alone, but by now he wouldn’t even consider that. How long would they be able to continue sneaking out? Would Caroline’s parents really cut off her college tuition and finances? And would Eric retaliate and make Dean lose the job that he needed so badly? They were playing with fire – how much longer could it last?
This was a nicely written story of young love. It’s the kind of story line that just about everyone can relate to, even if we don’t all come from wealth. It will touch the emotions of the reader, and is definitely worth reading. I was given a copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. My comments reflect my honest opinion.
This is the story of Dean and Caroline, two lost souls. Dean an amazing man but portrayed as a bad boy, but his heart is delicate and sensitive. Since he is the sole breadwinner in the family and he must take care of his sick brother and his Alcoholic mother, Dean finds work in the stables at the local country club. Where he is exposed to all the rich and spoiled, but what happens one day when he meets Caroline? Caroline is a girl who comes from a good, rich home, all her life dictated by her parents, How to behave? How to dress If you go out? But as soon as they decide who to marry for her, this is where the red nest comes, she gets tired of it, and she decides to rebel. Then she meets Dean, and from here begins a magical love story, painful to tears, and touching. Carioline is revealed to Dean as a friendly and caring girl. They begin to see one another if the other despite the displeasure of Carioline's parents, who do not accept Dean, but if a little help from a company they manage to meet and spend time and experience intense love and even share dreams and the future. But as you know, not everything is pink, and reality apart and dreams apart, I was swept away in a true love story, which examines you from within. Is it despite all the obstacles and heartbreak that love will win? This story is amazingly written, you feel every emotion and sorrow, and the tears never stopped, a convoluted and bumpy way. How did the journey end? Are the obstacles we are going through but what will determine the journey? And like any love story, let's not forget the amazing sex scenes, which of course are written in good taste. This is the second book of the author I read And I enjoy her sweeping writing, "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Once again Rye Hart delivers another emotionally charged, roller coaster of a ride read. I had my doubts after reading the last book, Damaged Goods (which still holds my heart) that I doubted another book from this author would be just as good and I was ready to set myself up for disappointment.....how WRONG I was. Not only is this read emotionally charged with heartache, heartbreak, tears, hope, longing and true love, it's a read that found another place in my heart, that felt real, all of it, the story, the emotions, Dean & Caroline as well. I have read a few of this author's books and Rye Hart has definitely grown in the writing, the stories etc as they are now more than just steamy reads (even though there is plenty of steam in this one) they have heart and characters you can actually fall in love with. This is another read where the hot man is not a man wh*** bragging about his conquests and bedding women every other page. Dean is a hard worker who has had to take care of his family especially his younger brother, sacrificing himself so his brother can live his life. Caroline is kind hearted, compassionate, down to earth and is not influenced by social status or money even with her upbringing and her parents pressuring her at every turn and forbidding her to be seen with the "stable boy" from their country club. The story starts off when she is 18 and he is 24, meeting in the stables of her country club and continues with their summer together when an tragic incident happens, ripping them apart for seven years, then continuing their story when they see each other after all those years. WOW WOW WOW is all I can say and thank you to the author for another BREATHTAKING, EMOTIONALLY CHARGED, AMAZING read. *I voluntarily reveiwed an ARC of this book*
Dean Evans comes from the poor side of town. His father died years ago, and at age 24 he is the sole provider for his alcoholic mother and diabetic younger brother. Dean has found a summer job working in the stables at the local Country Club. He may scoop it all day but doesn’t have to take it from the rich spoiled brats that come to ride. One day when saddling the horses for some snobby girls he meets Caroline. She is different, friendly and caring. They soon start seeing each other to the immense displeasure of her parents. They demand she stop embarrassing them and stay away from “that kind” of boy. With help from her best friend Stephanie they manage to spend time together, sharing their dreams and hopes for the future. Caroline is 18 and plans to attend Yale in the fall, Dean wants to go into construction. With everything against them their love still grows, but fate and prejudices are against them. When a life altering event tears their lives apart, true love is put to the test. Will love endure, or was this just a summer romance. This story will tug at your heart and you feel their pain and sorrows. The roads we travel in life are long with lots of bumps and turns along the way. It is how we handle those obstacles that determine where our journey will end. Rye’s storytelling will keep you in suspense until the last page. The story contains hot sex scenes, but they are tastefully done and not over the top.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Amazing! What a great second chance romance book from Ms Hart. I loved the story of Dean and Carolina. Two people from completely opposite parts of town who find love the first time when Dean is working in the stables of the country club where Carolina goes to ride horses. The attraction is undeniable from the beginning. The two start up a romance in secret. Carolina's parents would not approve and want her to go on to college in the fall. Dean has his own family problems that he is dealing with. Something happens one day and Dean takes the blame for something his brother did. He does not want Carolina to wait for him while he pays the price. Carolina is hurt when he pushes her away saying he doesn't want her to wait for him. Fast forward seven years and Dean is now a successful business owner who returns to his home town because his brother is in the hospital. What has Carolina been up to? Did she graduate college? Dean has never stopped loving her and wants to see if he can get a second chance with her. Will she let him? There is also some unforeseen history between Dean's mother and Carolina's parents that neither Dean nor Carolina had any idea of. This book had me drawn in from the beginning and was such an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. I love this fabulous story and the wonderful HEA that the two were able to finally get!
Caroline and Dean will make you laugh, cry, sigh and swoon with their journey in this sweet and sexy HEA. Caroline is the golden girl. She has money and privilege so she should be happy right? Too bad her family has expectations for her that have nothing to do with what she dreams for herself or her happiness. They try to force suitors and their lifestyle upon her and she tries her hardest to resist their meddlesome ways. She wants life, love and happiness - is that too much to ask? A chance encounter with the clubs newest stable boy Dean Evans leaves her breathless. He is something else - handsome, charming, and nothing like the stuff shirts her parents have been trying to set her up with - a breathe of fresh air. Caroline Michaelson is like an angel that Dean knows he shouldn't go near, but he cannot help but be drawn to. She is unlike any other girl he has ever encountered. Her sweet innocence and fiery nature are beguiling. He is helpless to ignore the pull and soon is head over heels for the girl. They star crossed lovers in the truest sense and have to hidden to keep it off everyone's radar. When one moment changes everything hard choices will need to be made. Will Caroline and Dean be the victims of sacrifice.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Rye Hart has wrote another great book! It had a hot stable guy, Drama, and a second chance at romance for a couple from such opposite households! Even something unexpected! I'm glad this didn't end up going the way I thought it was at first. I recommend getting this book for sure, it's definitely a five star read! It kind of reminds me of the 80's movie Pretty In Pink with Molly Ringwald. Dean is like Molly, in the movie, from the wrong side of the tracks. He got a job working at the stables at the country club to support his brother and alcoholic mother. Dean has been working since he was twelve because of his father's death and his mother's alcoholism began. He wasn't enjoying having to deal with the spoiled country club kids until he met Caroline. Caroline is different from the other spoiled country club girls. She dislikes how snobby and status seeking her parents are, especially their attempts to set up dates between herself and their friend's sons. Even though Dean and Caroline live such different lives, they understand each other, and can talk honestly to one another. But things happen to break them apart for a few years. If you want to know if they'll get their second chance you'll have to get this book!!
Dean was a 24 year old young man when he found the right young woman that he fell in love with. Caroline was a young 18 year old young lady with controlling parents that thought they were better than everyone else that didn't have money. They wanted Caroline to marry into a family that had money. Caroline wanted different but was to afraid to say so until she meets Dean. Then Caroline tells her mother that Dean is a good guy but her mother forbids Caroline from ever seeing him again. Dean works hard to take care of his younger brother and mother. His younger brother gets mixed up with the wrong people that he thinks is his friends. Deans mother is an alcoholic and throws fits like a two year old would. Dean is a strong independent man that has a lot on his shoulders but is doing his best with what ever life throws his way. Caroline is a strong, smart, independent woman that is strong willed and isn't going to let things get in her way. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one in the series. This book had an excellent plot and story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a short read but what a great book it is I couldn't put it down from start to finish I was spell bound it was raw real and hot, Dean is the gorgeous guy from the wrong side of the tracks and Caroline is the rich trust fund kid but when they meet it's like fate had made it happen but everyone was against them being together, in just one moment everything changed a life was lost and a debt had to be paid, so seven years have passed and in that time neither Dean or Caroline could forget one another, so fate stepped in again and brought them back together for a second chance this time a life needs to be saved and Caroline is the only one that can help save Deans brother Daniel with a kidney transplant it's a gift she wants to give whole heartily and Deans loves her even more for but tells her she doesn't have to but Caroline has made up her own mind and goes ahead with the surgery. Will everything work out with the surgery and will Dean and Caroline get there HEA read this book to find out it's amazing you will love it. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book. Thanks Karen N
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. Dean and Caroline came from opposite sides of the track. Working at the stables at the Country Club, he sees Caroline and the attraction between them is mutual and has to keep it quiet. The heat and electric current was palpable. Dean and his brother Daniel witnessed Eric physically harassing Caroline. During the struggle between the men, Eric was shot and Dean took the blame for for his brother. He was sentenced to prison and didn't want Caroline to wait for him. This changes the course of their lives. Now 7 years has past, Dean didn't come back, is now a successful owner of his own billionaire construction company.
A call from his Mum that his brother is very ill and is in the hospital. A shocking secret between both families came out which will affect them. Daniel is in need of a new kidney and finding a matching donor is imminent.
Will Daniel get the new kidney? Will Dean and Caroline have a second chance at love? You will have to read to find out. There is nothing in this story that I didn't like. A well written, emotional, captivating story which was hard to put down.
When the stable hand Dean catches a glimpse of Caroline sauntering his way ready for a horseback ride, he is right away wishing this young, wealthy socialite was taking him for a ride instead! The insta- wow sizzles between them straight away, but her mom and dad have lots to say about whom she associates with even at the age of 18. Not able to stay away from each other these two start sneaking around, falling deeper each passing day- but just like summer all good things come to an end, will the hot, fun and emotional connection they have be shattered within a matter of minutes when forces of nature step in? I was all in for this second chance hot, detailed, plot twisting all encompassing romance! This fast paced beast of a tale gets right to the heart of the matter within the first few pages. Leaving me glued to the Kindle wondering what in the world could happen next! While Caroline made me want to pull out my hair along with my parents, I loved Dean and all his faults they rounded each other out making for one helluva rainy afternoon read. Definite #ONECLICK material
Dean was the hot stable boy from the wrong side of the tracks working at the posh country club. His father has died and his mother is an alcoholic and he helps to support the family, which includes his younger brother who is a diabetic. He meets Caroline, rich and privileged, who sees him for who he is and not just the poor, hired help. They start to see each other but her parents are totally against the match and do everything they can to split the duo. After an unfortunate accident, Dean has to reluctantly leave and he goes away, leaving Caroline behind, with a broken heart. Lives go on but a number of years later Dean is forced to return because of a family tragedy and he's back to reclaim Caroline too.
This is a well written and sensitive story of family loyalty, class divides and predudice and how love can overcome it all. I loved Dean and Caroline, they were well written and likeable. The story kept me entranced from start to finish. A super read.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and provided this review voluntarily.
Grab a box of tissues because you're gonna need them. Wow, what an emotional read about young love from different social classes. A wealthy country club girl and the stable boy. Her parents presented one wealthy suitor after another and she brushed them all off. They were too stuffy or boring. Dean the stable boy was like a breath of fresh air. They had to keep their relationship secret as her parents had threatened to cut her off financially. Dean has a lot to deal with in that his brother is a diabetic and his mother is an alcoholic. Lots of drama and twists including Dean taking the fall for his brother and going to prison. The thought of Caroline kept him going. No spoiler here, but this is a great book. Well written with wonderful characters. I couldn't quite understand how the book title related to the story. Did I miss something. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review this boo,. A great read and a beautiful second chance romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Dean is the hot stable guy from the wrong side of the tracks working at the snooty country club in town. He has had to work several jobs since he was twelve years old when his father dies and his mother sought comfort in the bottom of a booze bottle, since nobody else was there to help pay the bills or take care of his diabetic younger brother. Bored with the usual come-ons from the rich women at the club, he is surprised by the visceral reaction he has to a young beauty who comes in for a ride one day. Fresh, approachable, polite and stunning, Caroline is too good to be true, and certainly too good for the likes of him. Or so says everybody else at the club, especially her furious parents. Dramatic and tragic circumstances conspire to keep the pair apart, but will fate intervene to allow them a second chance? Couldn't wait to find out what happens and rushed through every delicious page.
Dean may come from the wrong side of the tracks but, he is a great man. Everything he does is for the ones he loves, his brother, Caroline and even his mother. In contrast, Caroline's father, as well as her mother are absolutely the worst people no matter how much money is in their bank account. Her heart ached for Caroline. Her relationship with her parents is controlling, manipulative and disrespectful. Dean's love gives Caroline strength to live her life beyond her parents' wishes. Caroline's love for Dean gives him purpose until one fatefully horrific night that changes their lives.
Dean and Caroline's story is touching and kept me glued to the book. Dean's brother, Eric is another emotional part of the story that lends itself to their second chance that keeps you hoping and waiting for the happy ending. My heart kept pounding as I read - truly a captivating story.

This is an amazing heartfelt story between Dean and Caroline. Caroline comes from money and is a member at a prominent country club. Dean comes from the other end and works at that country club. When they are teenagers they meet and have an instant emotional connection and fall in love. Their relationship is not easy and with the negatively and family responsibilities will tear their young love apart. After those complications 7 years have come and gone and you hope they can come back together and fall into love again but has too much time passed? This was a very emotional read. I felt like I was in the story with these characters and a part of their story. This a one of a kind story. You will fall in love with Dean who is a good guy that's out to protect those he cares for and Caroline shows you what a genuine heart full of love is. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. What a great read, with a few twists and turns that you really don't see coming. Dean is from the lower class and works at the country club as a stable boy, Caroline whose parents are definitely from the upper class. Caroline doesn't want to follow in their footsteps and when she sees Dean there is an instant attraction between the two. Her parents warn her to stay away or they will cut her off. Dean's brother has fallen in with the wrong crowd and always seems to be in trouble, while their mother is an alcoholic and doesn't seem to care. Dean proves that family comes first and tries to do the right thing, but ends up in jail. Fast forward 7 years and the pair meet up again, while Caroline is still upset over Dean the sparks fly when they see each other again.
Just when you think you know what is gong to happen everything is turned on it's head again. I thoroughly recommend this book.
Dean works in the stables at the local country club, where Caroline is a member. She is planning on leaving in the fall for college. When they first see each other, Dean knows he wants her like he has wanted no other girl. Just how that will happen he is not sure of. For one, they are not supposed to be together, they are from opposite sides of town. Her parents would never allow it, yet Caroline knows she wants to be his. After sneaking around and sharing their love with each other, disaster strikes when she is attacked and he ends up in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Years later, he gets a call to come home, his brother is sick. Will Dean get a chance to see Caroline again, and if so, will they want to reconcile their differences. She helps his family, makes up with her dad, and finds her happily ever after. I loved how the characters interacted with each other, and how the story line played out. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Dean Evans and Caroline Michaelson. The two of them could not be from different social classes. Dean is a working class guy and Caroline is the girl with money. What she really wants is to be with the boy down at the stables. Money means nothing to her she wants other things for her life. Her parents disagree. Dean isn't sure he really should be with Caroline but there is something about her that keeps dragging him to her. Can these two star crossed lovers really have a chance or will their differences just be to much?
This book will hook you in from the first word to the very end. There are some major ups and downs that I want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book is amazing I could not put it down. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Seven years ago, Caroline and Dean had a summer fling that ended in broken hearts! Caroline is from a rich, snobby family that looks down on anyone that doesn't have money. Dean is one of the country club's stable guys, his life is hard and he's trying to live it the best he can. His mother is an alcoholic and his younger brother is always in trouble, what is a guy supposed to do? Dean's younger brother, Daniel screwed up bad! Dean is taking the hit for it because he knows his little brother would just not make it through it! Dean does what he thinks is best for Caroline and tells her to move on and that they are done. But now he's back in town because his little brother is really sick, he still yearns for Caroline. Will she see him again? Will Caroline accept his apology? Has Caroline moved on without him? Want to find out, then read this book!
Did anyone get "cowboy" out of this book? I mean, the H worked with horses at a country club, in fact, he was never even mentioned as riding a horse at all ! I'm starting to see more and more authors giving their books titles that are misleading. If you were expecting a basic run of the mill cowboy book, with horses and perhaps some ranch life and maybe even a little Texan accent (seeing as it's based in Austin), then this book is not for you. It's actually a little disappointing.
The story is ok. There are so many things working against the couple. It almost felt like the author decided on one conflict idea, but that could only take the book so far, so she threw another one in there, and again, can only go so far, therefore oh look, yet another conflict !
One good thing is there weren't too many typos and grammatical errors. It's just ok.
This book has a whole lot going on and every minute is captivating. It begins with the meeting of Caroline and Dean. Both characters are strong and independent and have a whole lot of weight on their shoulders. Caroline comes from money and stuck up parents, where Dean has nothing but a brother he loves and protects and a drunk for a mother. These two characters work so well together and they find their way to each other despite their differences until the unexpected happens and they are torn from each other.
Years later fate brings them back to each other. The question is can the sins of the past be placed away in order to make way for a future together. Well, I guess you will just have to read the book to find out their futures and what exactly happened.

Rye Hart is one of my all time favorites, so I was eager to put my hands on the story of Caroline and Dean! It worth the wait! It was such a great story. Caroline is the best heroine I’ve recently read about, and the twists in the plot made this book a real adventure. I was very curious to see how their story will end, how the characters will grown during it. I loved them! It was great to see that they are layered characters with many feelings, which sometimes got them in trouble. I love how Rye Hart writes, her sense of humor, her characters, her beutiful lines which are full of methapors, which help the reader get sucked into the book. I recommend this book!
7 years ago, they loved each other, but social standards said they were wrong. Learning of a family emergency, Dean returns home to discover not all was as it seemed. When Dean crushed her heart, Caroline was determined to not let him back in. Chemistry and love cannot be denied. Will Caroline forgive Dean for pushing her away? Will they both be able to overcome their combined pasts?
Loved how everyone was against these two, but yet in the end they were determined to love each other. I have to admit that I wanted to smack both sets of parents time and again. While I didn't agree with how Dean handled everything the years before, I was glad that he made the right decision in the end. I loved the fact that Caroline was down to earth and not like the others in her society. Good read!

Dean is a young poor guy struggling to support his sick brother and alcoholic mother. He is a stable boy at a posh county club but he loves his job as he is around horses all day. Caroline is a 18 year old rich girl. She is striving to make her own way in life but her parents thwart everything she does. They are controlling and want her married off. When she sparks a live affair with Dean they forbid her to see him. One tragic night to save his brother from jail he lies and takes the blame. He throws his life away but forces Caroline to leave him. Fast forward 7 years and Dean has made something for himsel. His brother is very ill and he is forced to go home. He still loves Caroline and she feels the same and when they meet they just gel together again
I loved this second chance love story! Dean is from the wrong side of the tracks, making ends meet as a stable hand at an affluent country club. Caroline may be wealthy, but she's nothing like the other girls. She's smart, down to earth, and strong minded. I loved how she and Dean developed their friendship, and my heart broke when prejudice reared its ugly head against them. The character development was done well, giving us a clear picture of how the upper crust looked down on the help. When Caroline and Dean are reunited due to traumatic circumstances, it's heartfelt and emotional, yet explosive and so steamy and passionate! Great read, but I agreed with some readers that the title was misleading. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This was a nice read. The story line with Caroline and Dean was worth following and the span from their young love then heartbreak and rekindling that love many years later was a joy to read. This story shows the family problems of the elite rich to the family problems of the poor and a like in many ways. Along the way are sex scenes as well as several self gratification scenes. This had a very very happy ending. One thing I question is why the title of this book has Rodeo in it when there isn't one in the story. Unless she's using it like a metaphor. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Most towns have their own "railroad tracks" and those on the "right side" would never cross to the "wrong side". For one summer, Caroline and Dean ignore those "tracks" and fall in love. An unfortunate incident causes it all to fall apart. To protect Caroline, Dean pushes her away. Seven years later Dean returns and all bets are off. I loved this book! Dean was wonderful, caring and protective. As a parent, I would love for my daughter to find a man like Dean no matter what "side of the tracks" he came from.
