After a lifetime of heartbreak, the word “family” makes Celeste Hennessy want to run for the hills. So why does the sexy, famous billionaire Grant Bronson claim her as his wife – and the mother of his six year old child Jeffrey? Turns out, Celeste’s late sister was keeping some dangerous secrets – and so is Grant. Grant is not quite human, but he is quite ruthless. He’ll stop at nothing to ensure his little boy’s safety – but does that include toying with Celeste’s fragile heart? With dark forces from Jeffrey’s past coming to claim him, Celeste has no choice to turn to Grant for help. Too bad the closer she gets to Grant, the more danger she’s in.
Georgette St. Clair writes hot, sexy romances starring Alpha heroes. The road to love may be rocky and fraught with peril (and humor and scorchtastic sex and healthy heapings of snark), but her shifters will stop at nothing to claim the women they love.
Georgette has worn many hats in life: newspaper reporter, EMT, internet marketer, cocktail waitress, temp, nurse’s aide (not in chronological order).
When she’s not rescuing fur-babies, she spends her days in a fantasy universe where she nudges her smart-mouthed, take-no-gruff heroines onto paths which will set them on a collision course with true love.
The second book in The Alpha Billion-weres series was just as good as the first one. This time, the story follows Grant (Cliff's brother), a ruthless manwhore with a broken heart, and Celeste, a human with a bitch for a twin sister. Celeste’s past has made her wary of having friends or family, but that all changes when she meets her nephew, Jeffrey. There are a lot of secrets and drama - and I’m here for it! 🌕🐺💕 Cute and short. Might also be at 3.75 ⭐️’s.
Celeste Hennessy is at her sisters apartment to gather any mementos from her since her tragic death. What she doesn't expect is to find a six year old boy who thinks she is his mom. As twins Celeste would have thought that her sister and her would have been close, but her sister was not a woman you would be proud of. Now she is on a mission to find the boys father and ends up seeking Grant Bronson out.
Grant can't believe he has a son, with CPS trying to take him because of his worthless mother Grant comes up with a plan to marry Celeste. Celeste is a woman who doesn't allow herself to get close to anyone but Grant has a plan to change her mind as she is his mate.
Enjoyable read. I was curious about Grant's story after the last book. Liked Celeste and jeffrey the child is a pistol. Another great read.
Editors. Editing. These are your friends. They are friends that help you use the correct words and not homonyms (or words that were possibly autocorrected to the wrong thing). They are friends who help you use the right pronouns so a reader doesn't have to go back because who did which to whom? They are friends who make sure you use the right name so there isn't a random scene with the wrong couple and a person being paradoxically twice in the same time and place. The story itself wasn't awful, tho I felt like it downplayed the effects of trauma and had at least a bit of the magical cock trope going (It veered close but managed to avoid going whole hog). I also tend to prefer slightly more complex villains but that's not an issue with the writing or plot, just preference. I bought his instalove/lust more than I bought hers. I felt there could have been more done with the wannabe OW. Some cardboard cutout repetition re: supporting villains took away from the conflict a bit. There were a lot of flaws but the precocious grifter kid kept it from being boring. If there was decent editing involved I'd definitely read more by this author in this world.
What an interesting full on read this was. There is so much going on it is hard to write a review without giving stuff away so I will just say, read and enjoy. I couldn’t put it down till I had finished it to see where it was going to take me. Lots happening in regards to there being quite a few smaller stories going on in the background. Likeable H’s, great characters and it was great to find out about Mandy, Jeffrey was a sweetie and very smart. As harsh as it sounds I felt no remorse at what happened to a certain person or two. No names or it will spoil the story. You will know who I mean at the end. This is my honest review of this book.
This book was every bit as good the second time around as it was the first! This author’s characters are always amazing! I love the many twists and turns to the plot and the ending that I never saw coming. Not to mention the wholesome goodness of the perfect HEA. The characters were quirky, and funny, and overcame so many struggles to be that heartwarming HEA. This book is the best weekend read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The romance is complicated. The child was a sad twist. I liked the HEA at the end but the closure was bitter. I can’t say I’m a fan of a mate having been with a sibling first. It’s an icky thought that the sisters had been with the same guy. But it was definitely interesting.
Oh poor baby. Jeffrey at only 6 years old has had a hard life. He has a father and an aunt who do not even know about him. But they are about to. Yes, they are. This book had a great storyline, great characters, and elicited a lot of emotion out of me. I was outraged, uplifted, and had a little crush going on.
Hearing her jerk of a twin sister had died in a car crash, Celeste goes to clean out her belongings.... Dirty apartment... Check. Sink full of dishes, check. Dirty little boy with big eyes staring at her.... Yikes! What the heck?!?! And so Celeste discovers she has a young nephew named Jeffrey. Within seconds an odd, angry CPS lady tries to abduct her new nephew until he sprouts fangs and bites her?! What the heck? Celeste goes into full on protection mode... Determined to make sure this young boy gets happiness in his life. After all, finding him in that grimy apartment on his own for goodness knows how long, she knows his life so far hasn't been that great. Factor in her grifter sister as a mother and it definitely doesn't improve the odds. Going on vague recollections from years ago, she seeks out who she believes is her nephews dad.... Enter hottie billionaire Grant. Shockingly Celeste is still in the dark about werewolves until she barges in on Grant... Talk about a shocker! Getting to know each other is tough when he doesn't believe a word she says... Thanks sis! After initially thinking she's Jennifer the evil twin, he then accuses her of being a grifter like her twin. Determined to keep her nephew safe she doesn't know what to do.... Evil CPS still intent on taking her new found family, rogue shifters, a hot billion dollar werewolf, and random kidnapping attempts tend to make things even more complicated.... However...NEVER put it past a fiery mouthed, determined woman when she sets her mind to things... At that includes the love and welfare of her nephew. Bad guys better back off! Have fun and take the wild ride... See what kind of adventures are in store for this amazing surprise family! I voluntarily give this review in thanks for an advanced copy gifted by the author.
What an amazing new series this is. This is the second Well book in this wonderful series. So expertly written and thoroughly thought out. I have been hooked since book one . This series by Georgette St.. Clair is absolutely amazing. I cannot get enough of it.
This is Grant’s book. Cliff’s younger brother the so called Man-Whore. But man, are you in for a shock when you learn more about him. He is so much of a softy and to think he has been keeping this secret all this time. And this is how he meets his lost love’s sister. And she has one hell of a shock for him with what she finds and her supposed dead sisters home. I love how they meet with him brutally kicking a bed. Lol just to keep a secret he was not willing to let known. And man is he an amazing person to step up and take care of things. But they are both in for a surprise when Celeste gets taken. Hope he can save her in time. You will have to read to find out. I only know as I read the book and I am not telling.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too
Great addition to the first book. Grant was the middle werewolf brother and a Playboy, or so it seemed. Grant and his women have been hiding a secret for the past five years. I'm not telling it though. Celeste gets a call from her bosses that her twin sister was killed in a car wreck. When she goes to the address she was given she finds a six year old boy that she knew nothing about. Her sister Jennifer was a grifter, always on the run and lying. She only spoke to her on burner phones when she needed something. The boy, Jeffrey called Celeste mom, so she knew that he was Jennifer's. Celeste takes Jeffery and leaves to try to find his dad(Grant) after CPS comes to the door to take him away. When she finds him he realizes that she is his mate but she doesn't trust him because of what her sister said about him. She doesn't know if her sister lied or not. While all of this is happening someone is trying to kidnap Jeffery who is also a werewolf. This is a great book with plenty of twists and turns. I can't wait for the next book about hopefully Austin, the youngest brother who is standoffish with the pack because of his past family relationship.
The second book in the Alpha Billion-weres series was fantastic! Grant and Celeste are both complicated, complex characters, and even though Jeffrey is only 6, he is as well. The childhoods that these poor souls survived will definitely make you sad, angry, and feel just about every emotion possible. If anyone deserves a happy ending, it is this family. The road to their HEA isn't just bumpy, it is full of Grand Canyon sized pot holes! This book is action packed, suspenseful, full of twists and turns, as well as passion, friendships, and love. If you haven't read the first in this series, please do. It gives a lot of background on this family and their community and there are characters we see in both books. I highly recommend you read this book. Mature eyes only due to the hot shifter loving, as well as violence. Also, a trigger warning that there is some descriptions of past childhood abuse. I am off to start the 3rd book now. Happy Reading!!!!
So the blurb was a bit misleading to me. "So why does the sexy, famous billionaire Grant Bronson claim her as his wife – and the mother of his six year old child Jeffrey?" There's no confusion about Celeste's identity, and there's a perfect reason why Grant has her pretend to be her sister and marry him. I was never unclear about any of Grant's motives. He was a good man. It took me a long time to finish this book because nothing just grabbed me to make finish in one sitting. I finished because I had read the other two books of this series and was curious about what happened in this book. The child, Jeffrey, was used like a plot device. He's not there much unless he's in danger or about to expose shifters to humans. The bad guy and his motives were very unique, so it has that going for it.
The narration was fine. She didnt have a different voice for everyone but I could hear a tone difference for each character.
The identical twins shows up after learning her twin sister was killed in a car crash and explosion. When rummaging through her twins apartment she stumbled across her now six-year -old nephew who stubbornly refuses to accept that she is not his mother. She is heartbroken and can't make the little guy lose another person, so she tries to find the little guy's father to see if he wants his little boy. The story then gets better yet when they must take a marriage to keep social services from getting custody of this little boy and outing all the werewolves everywhere. Romance, drama and one broken little boy will have you flipping pages in this well written story. I highly recommend reading this book it's well worth the time. I know that I loved it and would gladly read more by this author. Kudos!
Voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
I gotta be honest and say Grant wasnt my favorite guy. He's a bit of a douche and when I say a bit I mean hugely and has a mean streak a mile wide. Jumps to conclusions...dislike that in characters. No common sense. Otherwise I did enjoy the book. Celeste was a character. I liked her a lot and I really understood how she was constantly let dow and that even included what Grant did to her in the beginning. She will do anything for that Cub even save him from his Father. It was kinda cute how he wouldnt want anything to do with his Dad cause yeah Grant did screw up in the beginning but everything worked out in the end. A recommended read! Cant wait for Austins.
Grant Bronson on the surface is a carefree playboy. He is uncaring and arrogant. And pretty selfish. But underneath all that is a wolf shifter that fell for a human, then got his heart broken. As a result of that heartbreak, Grant has led his life hiding behind booze, partying, and women to keep others from getting too close. So, when the identical twin of the woman who broke him comes barging into his life and claims that Grant has a young son he is rightfully skeptical of her intentions. Grant has a new challenge ahead of him, he must connect with the 6-year-old son he never knew about, teach his son about being a shifter, and woo the sister of the woman who burned him. Sounds easy right, until the human authorities get involved and try to take his son away.
I usually enjoy Georgette St. Clair. I've read several past books, which might have contributed to my not liking this one so much. It wasn't awful. We still got her quirky brand of humor with a cast of interesting characters , but it fell short of her usual skill.
There were some continuity issues that I found distracting, characters called the wrong names, person says they can't get drunk then the next paragraph they are slurring their words etc..
Overall, I would say, don't judge this author by this book.
Explaining the storyline is difficult. This book is about Grant from the previous book. He was manipulated by and woman who had his child years before without his knowledge. Now the woman's twin finds the child and attempts to connect with Grant. This books has action, suspense, romance, and comedy. Took off one star because of editing errors. I will definitely be looking for another book by this author!
Wow you like a story with depth, intrigue and mystery you got it. Now throw in the one true mate...sparks!
Celeste has a twin she hasn't spoken to in6 years they a opposite. Jessica is selfish, manipulative and sick. Celeste is sincere, honest and self sacrificing. Image Grant the poor sucker to Jessica's twisted plot and a treasure is literally left. Lots of moving part's. violence2, sex2
Loved that Book 2 is as strong as Book 1. Book 2 plot was interesting and kept me hooked. Story line different but it was strong. Loved the characters and their development. Alpha Grant was charming. Fierce Celeste loyal.and great as well. Jeffrey is so cute. Loved Taylor and her mate and bestie being in the story too. Love Mandy and the banter with her TM. Loved and enjoyed the book.
Second in series. Well written, lots of action, sexy moments, funny, excitement and a few twist. Celeste has no idea werewolves exist until she goes to her dead twin sisters home and sees a small boy. Getting involved in his life means trying to get his father Grant to take responsibility and learning about their secret.
Another enjoyable read from Georgette St Clair. 2nd book in the Alpha Billion-weres series. Celeste is drawn into the world of shifters when see goes to clean out her sister's apartment. Loved the story and characters, especially little Jeffrey. The story has drama, action and romance. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book
Kindle Unlimited standalone. Wow - playboy? Not really but that's what he wants everyone to think. Drifter who doesn't need at anyone, that's what she wants everyone to think. All it takes is a little boy and a promise to keep him safe!! Good story!!
This is an interesting storyline. Grant had terrible parents and a father who caused him to miss out on 6 years of his son's life. Celeste had a rough childhood too. She learns to live her nephew as if he's her own son. There's some betrayals and secrets revealed.
After thinking her sister has died Celeste is amazed to find out that her sister has a son. Not just a son but a werewolf son, whose father has never knew of his existence. Grant is floored to learn of his son's existence. The jour they take to save this werecub brings hem closer together. Now if only they can stay together.
The stars are for Jeffrey because the rest wasn’t so great. If it was edited it could have been an ok story. I would have to read passages over and over, incorrect character names, not knowing who was speaking. By 70% I was exhausted and skipped to the end just to confirm who the villain was. It was not a shocker.
I like the fact that even though Celeste's and Grant's childhoods weren't the greatest, in the end they found a family that was meant for them that they built together. I didn't like what Celeste's twin sister Jennifer did and the fact that there were mistakes in the story that made it hard to read.
The story was ok but for some reason I just couldn't get into it. I normally love shifter romance, but this one was too similar to other stories and as the narrator was the same one as another bunch of shifter stories and as they have quite similar jokes. Still a good story and the audio book is free on catalogue plus.
