In Another World With My Smartphone: Volume 5

Rate this book
The newly-crowned 16-year-old Grand Duke of Brunhild, Mochizuki Touya, is just starting to get the hang of managing a nation. What better way to christen his Duchy than to host a party with all the other royals in the region? Laughter! Fun! Pinball! But it's not all fun and games, Touya's search to uncover the truth behind the Phrase and Babylon bring him to the depths of the darkest forests, and the caps of the snowiest mountains. Not only that, but new territory means new responsibilities, and soon enough the eyes of the Vatican fall upon him. “Blasphemy!” they scream, “God is no old man, he is a magnificent being of light!” How will Touya react when even the Pope challenges the honor of the old man that gave him a new lease on life. The bells toll for a riveting tale of swords, sorcery, and... savage tribals?!

If you come to this series for tense action, strong character development and thrilling drama, I am not sure how you got to volume 5. Like earlier parts of the series it is a light hearted slow paced slice-of-life isekai in a fairly standard world for the genre. For the most part I find it entertaining, whether it is organizing and running the conference for the western rulers, improving the duchy or the search for Babylon and the phrase. Still, the conflict with Ramissh felt a bit off and it is a large part of the book. Touya's anger and the World Gods actions felt out of character, and for me the religious aspects (no matter how much I might agree with Touya) just feels as not fitting to a light hearted story like this. Still, as far as light-hearted wholesome power fantasies go, it is a good read.

Mochizuki Touya continues pushing the envelope. As the ruler of a Kingdom, he invests in the Knight Order and introduces Baseball to his fledgling nation. As far as Babylon goes, he discovers the Alchemy Tower. In the final chapter, Touya goes on a date with his five fiances. It gets interrupted by some thugs, but he and the girls take care of them handily.

I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.

Good but I want more romance

The girls are pretty much gone from the book which is fine because the story is good but if this a comfy story I want to see cute moments. I get there's a lot of characters now but that doesn't mean you can drop the love interests like a sack of hammers. Otherwise the phrase has gotten more interesting and the theocracy was great!

It is time to start figuring out some answers.

Need a pope? Got one!
Want to ask God? No problem, he is just a phone call away!
Want a game room? Got you covered!

This is a FUN romp showing just how much fun being a super powerful wizard in a magic world that doesn't know about game rooms can be!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!

For the fifth book, the story from an interesting turn when it involved religion ideals, and more came to light with more information about the phaze enemies. Looking forward to get the next book!

best so far

I really enjoyed this volume. It had a missing part from the anime and it was as good. Touya keeps improving the lives on his new world. I can certainly see why people are excited to be near him or be serving him in any way.

Need Moore Immediately!!

This Book overall was good, but was a bit slow. I admit the illustrations are better than the Web Novel.

These books seem to contain more and more filler, like the endless tea party near the start of this one. Still, they’re decent enough mostly.

Each book is getting more interesting than the previous one. I enjoyed it, despite the lack of conflict/challenge for the hero. Maybe I like the cozy/slice of life part more than I thought I would.
