This is a full-length 53,000 word Romance novel with a HEA guaranteed. Bonus Book Included: Silas: Alien Warrior by Ashley West.
They’re destined to be mates, but can she accept the life that comes with the love of a dragon- shifter?
Nova lives a safe life, which she enjoys. She doesn’t need action and adventure to feel fulfilled. All she needs are archives and the prospect of a good job. Little does she know, all of that is about to change the second she meets him. Apollo is the lead warrior for the Native Samou, a race of dragon-shifters who, despite the close relationship with Earth and the Galactic Empire, still live on their home planet. When he and his warriors are called to the Capital to help lead the troops against a possible attack, a chain of events neither of them expected is set into motion. When they come together, there is no looking back. Nova is pulled into the world of danger and war—a world she never realized she belonged in. She will discover a part of herself she never knew existed, all while falling in love with the man who refuses to see her for anything less than what she is.
With danger hovering around them, and threats coming from the most unlikely of places, will their love be enough to keep them together? Or, will the world they live in successfully tear them apart?
Was a good scyfy dragon shifter romance. I enjoyed both Apollo and Nova but seemed like their romance was going to be a slow burn and then next thing you know they are declaring their love for each other. In fact the plot was the same. Seemed like it would take a while to come to its conclusion then bam! its there. It was still a good read and I'm hoping the next one will be more developed.
Apollo Dragon Warrior Ashley West and Jamie Phoenix
Adventure, romance and dragon shifters of old. You will love this sci-fi slash paranormal romance. I throughly enjoyed reading it and hope for more to come in this world.
Nova is a archivist of the Capital. Always looking for information to file away in their archives. Her most recent work is about the Samou natives that live on Earth. Lately she has had a weird feeling while walking about the Archives building. When she discovers a meeting and a mysterious Samou who sets her senses on fire. She can't help but be curious. Why these feelings, what do they mean? The closer she gets to him the better she feels and it not just her feelings... Even her weird birthmark is changing on her and that causes a lot of concern for her. What is going on?
Nova is an historical archivist who enjoys her books more than real life. Her favorite topic is discovering more about a spaceship that was sent out to check out signs of a new species but the ship never returned with the data. One night when she is working super late, she accidentally runs across a top secret meeting with a mysterious alien. She overhears that ship that didn't return was shot down by the aliens and now those aliens are coming to earth. The mysterious alien is a Samou dragon warrior whose people have lived on Earth for centuries. Nova doesn't know all the details yet but she has strong feelings for the alien. Apollo is in shock. He is supposedly preparing for war against another alien species in planning sessions with Earth leaders. Then Nova walks in and he knows she is his destined mate.He knows he should stay away from her while preparing but he can't stay away. After an encounter with Nova he finds out the birthmark that she has always had is actually a Samou warrior's mark. Somehow he has to save Earth and protect his mate from the coming war. This is a good story with some twists and turns. I really liked Nova but sometimes she was just too meek. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
My copy only contained the main story Apollo and not the additional story Silas: Alien Warrior by Ashley West.
I haven't read the other books by Jamie Phoenix, but based on the character names there at least some of the other books are set in the same world. It was just enough overlap for me to go looking to see if there were other books, but not enough that I felt I was missing anything by not having read the other books.
I was rather fond of both Nova and Apollo. I do wish the story was a little less insta-love, Nova especially went very quickly from 'I'm not sure I want to bond with you' to 'I love you'. I also wish we got Apollo's POV as I feel like I was still missing parts of the story because we don't have his impressions.
There are a lot of sci-fi weredragon books out now, but I found I liked this one more than most I have read. There flow was nice (slow at times, but not stilted), there was an actual plot, and there was some world-building to the story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Nova leads a quiet happy life until one day she is working late and overhears a meeting which is about a threat to earth. There is a man there that Nova has a strong reaction to and discovers that he is her mate - Apollo. Apollo is a dragon shifter from another planet who has come to aid earth against a possible threat only to find his mate. This discovery puts people in danger, especially Nova and Apollo. This is a good story and mostly well written. Some parts, especially in the first half of the book it felt like I was reading a young adult book, and I felt that Nova was coming across a bit juvenile, but the writing did get better and became a good read.
Excellent futuristic weredragon romance. This was an excellent paranormal futuristic with a bit of fantasy romance. Nova has worked hard as an archivist of historical records regarding the treaty throughout the Galactic Empire which includes earth. In particular she chose her profession after a spacecraft accident when she was younger. Her boss is always ordering and embarrassing her. She overheard a meeting and meets the weredragon warrior Apollo from Native Samou. Suddenly, Her life changes drastically and her futures uncertain. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
How can you be a warrior if you can't fight, fly, or shift change? This super enjoyable reading book tells you all about that. I found this story to be not only a great action packed sci-fi adventure, but also a super romantic tale as well. This was a story about the leading characters' struggling against finding, fighting and finally accepting, what they truly are inside themselves and then doing exactly what they were meant to do. I enjoy sci-fi romances. Nova and Apollo lives are changed when they meet accidentally. They are destined to be mates if she is willing to take a chance on love with an alien.
Apollo is a risk taker and he is willing to do anything to be with his mate. Nova is not so it is really hard for her to take a chance on something she has never heard of like being a fated mate. They have good chemistry. The romance moves fast and you don't get a lot of relationship development.
Our heroine lives for history, she wants to read about it all the time. But her life takes a strange twist when she stumbles on a secret meeting. She's instantly drawn to our hero, an alien dragon shifter and as it turns out, leader of the resistance strike force. The invaders are already on earth and planning an attack and it's up to our hero to stop them.
I received an ARC of this story and have voluntarily chosen to review it here.

This might have been a good book but I lost interest towards the middle because the story plot slowed down and is not catching my interest anymore. Apollo and Nova might be bonded but it did take them a while to admit that they were meant to be together. I almost didnt finish it and I admit that I had to skip some words just to get to the end.
I thought the book was ok. It had it's slow moments and the plot was predictable. There wasn't much character development. It was mostly instalove with war and politics and little background on the history of the other races. The story skims the surface and doesn't go into detail or answer a lot of questions. Overall decent read. Note: I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy.
*** I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book*** Although SciFi is not my #1 genre choice, I do like it on occasion and this was a good read. Apollo and Nova were interesting characters, the pace of the story was good, although jumpy at times. Good action and intriguing people, the Samou. I liked it.
This was a good read, with a good storyline. Sure it may have felt a little flat at times, but the insta attraction and super sexy alien were dragon more than made up for it. :) With a little intrigue, danger and aliens able to clone anybody at will, it has a little for everyone. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book.
Outstanding adventure of dragon shifters warring against an invasion of Earth. There is suspenseful intrigue, clandestine operations, spies, traitors, heroes, sacrifice and even some fiery passion on the side. Great story and highly recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.
What a great story! I loved how energetic and devoted Apollo and Nova were, and how Apollo helped Nova discover her true self. The descriptions and personalities of even the bad guys was as though they were live. I couldn't put this book down as I felt like I was in the battle myself. I received this book as an arc and voluntarily am submitting my review.
This book was just as exciting as the other three books? There's plenty of action, adventure, drama, and steamy love scenes that leaves you saying ahhh with awesome characters? Thank you for the bonus story it was great. Keep them coming and a must buy series.
This book is for young adult readers. For me, too immature. The romance was truly young adult. The story was pretty good with few errors. Just not suited for mature readers. It would be nice if the books were advertised with the intended audiences - or maybe a PG rating system.
This was my first exposure to Jamie Phoenix. I have to say, I enjoyed it quite a lot. Apollo and Nova have an intriguing connection, with a twist. I find myself wanting more stories of the Samou, so I can’t wait for more. I’m off to look for more.
An intriguing fast paced read filled with danger, adventure, secrets, suspense, some heat and new love. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced reader Copy of this book.
