Told in dual POV, Incubus is an addictive read with suspense and action. As the story weaves between the present and the past, Lilah and Roth are both motivated to get what they want and they will not stop until they do. The relationship between them is intense and equally charged with intimacy and passion. The mystical creatures enhance the plot greatly as power and pleasure ebb and flow throughout the arc of the story. The tempo of the read is intense as the battle for love and life is on the line.

Overall, the creative genius of Celia Aaron never ceases to amaze me. Incubus transports you to a fantastical world where passion and power reign. I highly recommend this jewel to any and all paranormal romance fans. Lilah and Roth are perfectly matched and as each piece of the puzzle falls into place, I could not tear my eyes away for one second. I sincerely hope there is more of this world to come!

4.75 "love the incubus within" stars

Ah, damn, saying how "fantasy" genre is a very grateful setting for a vast playground is simply an understatement!

And Celia Aaron did just that, she had set a play for us, a perfect game with perfect elements, mixing magic, mythology, fantasy, romance, passion and love into a fast paced action filled joyride and honestly, in that kind of setting, anything goes...

The story

Lilah was a simple young woman who got "drafted" at the age 25 by the Goddess Artemis herself, and all of a sudden Lilah is serving her imortality training as a warrior maiden Lilah de Artemis.
Artemis had been full of pride at her creations, the fierce females who accompanied her on the hunt and guarded her while she slept. No man could ever defeat them in battle, and no man could take what was not given.

But Lilah was young, naive and she fell for the charm of a wolf Farrow, even though knowing her ultimate rule of maiden warriors - no men, no coupling ever
No man, mortal or immortal, can ever force a warrior maiden of mine. You are impervious to males because you are their betters. They are beneath you. You are imbued with the power of a goddess.

BUT Lilah gave herself willingly and the wolf betrayed that, he betrayed her and everything she represents

and as a punishment for her weakness, Lilah is banished from the slopes of Olympus onto the earth, stripped from her warrior maiden powers to live as a halfling (half human/half immortal)...

Trying to find a way to reedem herself, she strikes a deal with the God of War himself -Ares (she needs to find and deliver the infamous incubus with a high price on his head - Roth de Lis
and after almost hundered years of search one night will bring them into an encounter that will shake their axis...even with playing at decoy, and starting with false pretenses, Lilah is slowly getting to know Roth, for who he was, how he became the demon that thrives and feeds himself on sexual energy and why she can't shake this yearning feeling off while being near him...
Roth can sense that Lilah hides something from him, but he is infatuated with her sensual impulse, posture and sense, she's different, unique and alluring and she might be the one to satiate his incubus demon -she might be the only one
Could I dare hope that incubus would be satisfied with Lilah, and Lilah alone?

What neither of them account for was the passionate, wild and deep connection between them
Did I feel the communion of our souls? Yes.
Was I about to say that sentence out loud? No.
But I felt it, like an earthquake deep inside me, shifting my foundations. I'd felt him clicking into place in my world.

But the time is slipping away, and when the decision must be made, Lilah leaves Roth and goes to Ares alone, sacrificing herself...
I was caught in a trap of my own making, and there was only one clear way out of it.

Never seeing Roth again burned almost as much as the dread of the fate that awaited me in Ares's lair. I wouldn't get out alive. That was a given. But I didn't want to give Ares the chance to play with me before my death.

Even though, the doom above her fate is looming dark and her chances against the God of war are slim to none, Lilah will make the final sacrifice to save the man/demon she fell in love with, and Roth will do the same in the final riveting countdown of power display...

BUT once more, it will take another God's intervention to change her destiny...

Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.

Loved the characters, loved the "old fashioned" notion of deep passioned love and the ultimate will and choice to make a sacrifice to save the one you love, even though the doom is set upon you both and really, even though, that very action is somewhat pointless, cause if you are willing to sacrifice your life for the loved one and that loved one can't live without thy, then the sacrifice is, well a moot point, no?! Lol

But that's the power of love, love makes us do stupid, impulsive things as much as the great gestures of affection...however, those very actions, breathe that notion of everlasting love and brings out the invinsibility of 'love can conquer all' kinda feel...

And in fantasy, anything goes...*wink*

🌟🌟🌟🌟STARS
Love Celia Aarons work and as what I have read previously is of a contemporary nature (The Acquisition series) I was excited to see what she would produce in regards to a paranormal offering.
"Incubus" was a really great start to a new series.
It did initially take me a short while to get into the groove with this, but when I did this was magic in motion.
I really do feel this may have been more to do with the fact that I have not read this genre for a while so I was a bit out of whack overall.
So anyway incubus is about Roth de Lis an Incubus and Lilah, once the warrior of the goddess Artemis, expelled from her home on Mount Olympus after falling for and succumbing to the charms of a male.
Lilah will do anything to earn her place back at her goddesses side.
Including making a deal with the god of war Ares (despite him being a psychotic nutter) to bring him said Incubus, Roth de Lis. using herself as collateral (so not smart.)
After locating and tricking her way into Roth's home which he shares with his delightful butler a jealous harpy of a succubus and an enchanting Nymph and With a totally biased stereotypical opinion of Roth, Lilah soon learns her preconceptions regarding the incubus are way off base.
So I found Incubus to be a delightful tale that once I got into my stride made for some very easy enjoyable reading our two main characters were both extremely likeable and along the way, we are also introduced to some very intriguing secondary players.
This was so very different from what I have read of this author previously and let me just say, Celia Aaron, can so do paranormal, she didn't disappoint here and she so rocked this genre, throwing the ball right out of the field.
I also was really digging the fall hook line and sinker for each over vibe that Incubus gave off it made for such a refreshing change.
Don't get me wrong this is no insta-love tale but when these two eventually connect I got tingles down to my toes, every time Roth whispered Carissima I melted into a puddle of goo.
And when he chased after Lilah wanting to save her well let's just say my heart was pitter-pattering like a big ole softie of a girl. (which I so am )
So it's safe to say, I have absolutely no problem recommending this to my fellow paranormal lovers.
Overall I found this to be a really enjoyable and positive experience and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Should just mention that Incubus is available free on KU.

Lilah was a warrior of Artemis, cast out for falling in love and giving her virtue to a man. Desperate to get back into the good graces of the goddess and back to Olympus, she’s willing to do just about anything. Tasked with bringing Roth to Ares for a past indiscretion, she goes to his stomping grounds to learn more about him, stalk him, and worm her way into his life. Roth is an incubus, or so it seems, but the more time Lilah spends with him, the more she discovers the man many never get to know. Maybe he’s not just a philandering whoremonger after all.

I loved this little departure from the amazing Celia Aaron. I’m a huge fan of paranormal romance and realize that not every author can pull it off. I’m happy to say that she did so almost flawlessly. Her characters were instantly relatable, her plot and its points were fantastical and compelling, and her writing, as always, kept me captivated. With an open-ended conclusion and an array of appealing side characters, I can only hope that the author will be bringing these people back to life again some day.

Lilah was a warrior maiden. Once a warrior for Artemis, she was now banished from the Forgotten Forrest to roam the mortal land. She found a way to get back to the goddess' good grace, but the simple task might end up proving difficult.

Roth de Lis had an endless supply of females. As an incubus, getting lost in pleasure was his nature. But an encounter with a feisty female made him crave something more. He didn't know how she could possibly seal his fate.

I am already aware that Celia Aaron is versatile in her writings, so I was excited to see what she could do with mythology/fantasy. Considering I love Greek mythology, I definitely enjoyed this one.

I was just another one of his conquests, another notch for his bedpost, if he even had any bedpost left after his lifetimes of lovers.

Roth was not how I expected him to be. Like how he was flirty and commanding, but he also quite soft on the inside. I love reading about his background and his incubus. However, for most of the book, I felt him and the incubus was too detached - like he was talking about something that's not related to him.

I knew I could take care of myself, had done it all my life, but Roth was the only male who’d ever made me feel like being wrapped in his arms was where I belonged.

I like how Lilah was badass. She could certainly took care of herself in any situation. She's willing to trust within reason and not afraid to put her heart out there even though she had every reason not to.

The overall storyline was light and even though nothing surprising, it was entertaining. I love a lot of the supporting characters. My favorite was definitely cheeky Apollo lol! I love the mythological elements but as a book with fantasy setting, it could use a little more elaboration of the "world". Oh also with him being an incubus, I wanted him to be more dirty haha!

Incubus is a tale of inner strength and rising up to one's full potential. It would appeal to readers who enjoy stories of fantasy and mythology.

Once under the service of a goddess, Lilah has been banished from the only family she’s known. Since then, she has been determined to regain the good graces of her ruling deity, and while it’s been a long learning experience, Lilah believes she has a solution that will rectify her problem.

“No more would I feel the freedom of the night or the unbreakable strength the moonlight gave me. Unless….”

Roth de Lis is powerful incubus that has battled with his duality for centuries. Knowing how to sate his beastly side has become second nature but upon discovering a certain raven-haired beauty following him, both man and immortal are prepared for a satisfying seduction.

“You must grant me everything I ask within reason on that night. That’s not too much to ask, is it? He blinked at me slowly, innocently, but the look wore thin on him.”

Under the guise of her earthly profession, Lilah gains access to Roth and slowly learns about his past and sacrifices. Learning that Roth isn’t the reckless demon as previously thought, Lilah tries to resist his charms because she doesn’t want to be a fool once again.

“He rushed to me and kissed me roughly, staking a claim that I belonged only to him. Being swept up in his arms and captive to his sensuous mouth sent my every nerve ending tingling.”

Told in dual POV with alternating chapters between past and present, the character development is evenly paced and certain questions about Lilah and Roth are answered at appropriate intervals. Getting a bead on both characters felt natural. Additionally, the secondary characters, including immortals and gods, add depth, humor and hot times to the storyline.

The idea of an incubus intrigued me from the start and Roth’s story proved to be worthy, as his easy sex appeal and charisma make him irresistible. The constant internal struggle between the incubus and human side provided an interesting dichotomy and made Roth a more balanced character. As for Lilah, I completely related with her tenacity and witty sense of humor. While Lilah was so scarred from her past, she was still courageous and didn’t compromise her values.

The characterization of Greek gods and goddesses was also a favorite element. Though I wished a particular character wasn’t so hypocritical and should have lead by example, the storyline still weaves effortlessly between the mythology of gods and immortals. Apollo, Voltaire and Ares definitely peaked my interest and I wonder what is to happen to Corinne.

In Incubus, Celia Aaron weaves an imaginative and mystical tale steeped in romance and sacrifice where the reader is transported into her penned world. For those who enjoy romance with paranormal and fantasy elements, I definitely recommend!

Celia Aaron writing a PNR? I want to see, count me in!!! This book was very different from the other books I have read by this author. First because of the PNR factor and second because of what it made me feel.

I didn't know what I was going into when I started Incubus, and I really liked what I found out. The mythological setting was very interesting and particularly the original approach of the gods and goddesses. Ares, Artemis, Apollo... as you have never seen them!

Back to our story...

As an ex warrior maiden of Artemis, Lilah is innocent, has always been devoted to her goddess, and relationships with men were forbidden. Banished from the Olympus Forest, hurt, she wants to do anything and everything to go back to her sisters and into Artemis' good graces. Starts out a long journey where she seeks and eventually  meets Roth, the one who could be the solution to her predicament.

Roth. Immortal with an incubus inside of him. Intrigued by Lilah's innocence, sexiness and sassiness from the first time he laid his eyes on her, he is torn between the need to feed his Incubus, the attraction he feels for her (the hunger, even) and the need to protect her.

Lilah sets her plan in motion, seducing the intense yet caring Roth. The alternance of flashback and present scenes render is quite enjoyable, making an easy, somewhat suspenseful read. As they learn to know each other, the chemistry between them grows until their feelings become undeniable. Will the smart and cunning Lilah able to go through her original plan and betray him?

The atmosphere is incredible in this book. Paris, Roth's mansion, the different places they visit, Ares' den, the different creatures, the world Mrs Aaron created was super intriguing.

It was nice and sweet, mixed with passion and scorching hot scenes. I missed, though, the edge there usually is in her books.

Wow. I mean, I knew Celia was a super freakin talented writer of dark romance and all things smutty, but now she’s gone and added paranormal/fantasy to her bow, and you know what? It’s a-maze-ing!

In this tale of gods and goddesses, we follow Lilah on her path to redeem herself and get back in the good graces of Artemis. Once a strong warrior maiden, Lilah was banished from Olympus, and forced to live in the mortal world. Her only chance at getting back to Olympus, lies in the hands of Roth de Lis.

Roth is an incubus; he draws his power from sexual energy, needing to bed women regularly to ‘feed’ the demon inside. He’s a ladies’ man, never having to really chase women to get what he needs, until he meets Lilah.

One of the things I love about Celia, is the way she creates such strong heroines. Even without the power of Artemis running through her veins, Lilah is able to stand on her own two feet and fight her way out of most situations. Not only is she strong physically, but mentally too. She’s stubborn and determined, but also has a softer side.

Roth is more than meets the eye. He’s got the body of a Greek god, but beneath his looks, he is so much more: brave, loyal, and a fierce protector. You won’t be able to help but fall in love with him.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this change of genre, and the fact that there were still some heart-stopping scenes that had you on the edge of your seat, made it even better. I am definitely hoping she writes some more like this.

So this was my first erotica-fantasy book ever and I really tried to keep an open-minded view about this genre considering it would not be my first pick. I picked it up for the hype, and the idea of having a world where supernatural beings (like vampires and werewolves) AND greek gods are involved together in one, it really intrigued me how well it was going to be executed.

Truth be told, it left much to be desired.

Lilah, an Artemis' warrior is cast out from Mount Olympus for giving her virtue to a man who betrayed her. In order to get back to her former glory she makes a deal with Ares: as this god has a hissy fit with Roth, an inmortal incubus, he orders her to bring Roth to him and gives her a limited amount of time. But as Lilah gets to know Roth she realizes she is not this cruel man she's led to believe.

➕ I really enjoyed the first half of the book. It was fast paced, it did not contain an excesive amount of erotica which was a plus because there was a story to be told and I was more interested in the world itself and what the characters had to go through.

➕ The characters were very well described and separated between each. The POV's didn't feel forced and went along with the storyline smoothly.

➕ Although there was insta-love right away, the bond of the couple was implied. I felt for the characters and their connection.

➖ The last third of the book threw me off. It started to make no sense and rushed in order to reach the end of the book. It would have been better to make it longer and explain a few things that remained unsolved. It's like the author grew tired of writing and said "oh well, let's just end it right there". No. If you are going to make a book, make it good.

➖ The basic "laws" or aspects of the supernatural world and the inmortal world started to mix up and the species that existed in this world started to make no sense to me. Examples: Apollo not healing a person who needed help. Ares sinking FANGS to other's skin like a vampire or a werewolf. Artemis having a lover. It looked like the author didn't bother to search deeper into Greek Mythology and just added names because it was cool. That was just dissapointing.

➖ Pleasure demons: First things first, never heard these kind of things exist. But this is fantasy, so whatever. Only one appears in ONE chapter and I wanted to gauge my eyes out. It didn't make a point to the story, it was unnecesary.

Overall, I felt like this book had so much potential. The idea was unique but the author decided to make a poor job about it. It was fast paced, yes (I read it in only half a day) and it was all due to the literary skills of the author which kept me hooked from start to finish. The characters were good and I was glad that the alpha male of the story gets badly injured as it stated that nobody's perfect.

Will a pick another book with this genre? Never say never.

Will I read the second installment of this book if there's any? Perhaps. I want my questions to be answered.

Will I read another book of this author? Absolutely not.

I went into this story totally blind and what a ride! I’m one of those followers that believe Aaron has “the gift” and she can own it in any genre! She not only proved she could in Incubus, but she NAILED it!

Lilah is the hunter. Roth is the hunted. Or is it the other way around? You’ve got to read this story! It’s well written, the characters are fun, and the scenes are amazing! I loved learning about how “others” lived. Their bar scenes are no different from bar scenes “here” lol. Same assholes different species!Hahaha!

If you’re looking for a fresh and invigorating story, you’ve found it. Sometimes readers just need to wooooossaaa from the same ole same ole.....

An incubus who feeds off the sexual desires of its host, and the women he beds. I must say this is something I’ve never had the pleasure of reading and I loved it! Totally outside the box for me, but then again it’s Celia Aaron, and I absolutely love her writing!

Vampires, werewolves, and every other creature that you can think of. Super hot and some very spicy scenes. I was consumed! Can’t wait for more!!

Incubus is a good start to what is shaping up to be an amazing series. It is filled with so many supernatural beings that I can't wait to find out more about. I loved that it mixed history with mythology and a whole lot of the author's imagination which gave it that extra oomph.

I also loved how badass and fierce the heroine, Lilah was and how caring the hero was with her. However I expected there to be more debauchery as the hero, Roth was an incubus. Despite this I thought it was an awesome read that I definitely recommend to Paranormal and Fantasy lovers alike.

Love Celia Aaron's story of Lilah a committed hand maiden of a Greek goddess and Roth de Lis an Incubus and their natures versus trials and finally their romance.

In this paranormal extravaganza that mixes Greek God myths and legends, which also have vampires and werewolves, all with magical fantasy and intertwined with passion, romance, and ultimately love and to what ends Lilah and Roth will go to for the love of the other.

Hope Celia writes more like this.

Just hits my idea of five star read.

Lilah was one of the goddess Artemis' feared warrior maidens but when she ditches the 'maiden' part of that title Artemis banishes her to the mortal world. She spends the next century searching for a loophole, or for someone to champion her cause. She eventually finds some information that leads to a mission that she hopes will get her back into Artemis' good graces and back with her sister warriors.
Roth de Lis is an incubus, he needs sex to live. When he finds out Lilah is looking for him he's intrigued by the gorgeous woman searching for him but he knows that she's not telling him everything about her hunt.
I was just another one of his conquests, another notch for his bedpost, if he even had any bedpost left after his lifetimes of lovers.
Roth and Lilah are clearly attracted to each other but she's not eager to jump into bed with the notorious womanizer, she's keeping him at arms length. The book was definitely more tame than I was expecting, I was hoping for more debauchery, Roth is an incubus after all. We spend the majority of the book getting to know Lilah and Roth, they're both immortal so there's a lot of ground to cover when learning about their pasts. The book is full of greek mythology, and action.

I enjoyed a few of the side characters, including Apollo, and Bartholomew. I'm definitely curious about the connection between Paris and Elena!

* 5 "paranormal is not my thing but OMG this is a hell-to-the YES, amazing, must read" stars *

Okay, for the record, I don't do paranormal....It's just not my thing. I'm not into vampires and werewolves, shape shifters or aliens or anything else of the sort. I have nothing against it, it's just not my cup of tea. Whelp, thank you very much Celia Aaron, you have officially blown my mind and made me a convert! Incubus was INCREDIBLE! From the amazingly creative and interesting characters to the dark underworld, fantasy forests and everything in between, Aaron has written a dark, alluring, suspenseful, addicting, sexy and emotional story that had me completely riveted. There was so much to love about this story and I found myself having difficulty putting it down to, you know....adult and all.

The push and pull between Roth and Lilah was addicting. I loved the dialogue between these two other-worldly characters. They played so well off of one another and Aaron did a great job building up the sexual tension between these two dynamic individuals. Their chemistry is palpable from their first meeting and when they finally get together? Yeah, it'll blow your mind! Aaron did a phenomenal job of writing Roth in a multi-dimensional way. He's presented one way but as his story pans out, we see so many other sides to this immortal man who lives an eternal life of a notorious Incubus. His character was so easy to fall for! Smooth and suave and radiating sexual energy! Lilah was fierce and I loved her drive and determination. She gains more and more strength as the story progresses and I loved her transformation. The secondary characters were fabulous, some of who provided some much needed comic relief throughout.

Spanning across centuries, Incubus is an epic tale of love in a world where Gods and Goddesses rule the masses. The story moves quickly and involves backstories told through flashbacks. I was blown away by the emotional aspects of the story and truly found myself getting choked up at various points. I definitely shed a few tears as the story came to its peak. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that so it took me by surprise. But again, Aaron worked her magic and wrote the perfect ending for these amazing lovers. And for those who are not PN fans, don't worry, it's easy to follow along and appreciate the superb talent with which Aaron penned this sexy, sinful fantasy. In a nutshell, Incubus is one wild ride that I did not want to get off of! This is an absolute must-read at all costs story!

Well, well, well...ladies and gentlemen, what we have here is some of the finest entertainment between two book covers you could ever hope for.

You like PNR, you're in luck...
How about some Greek gods/goddesses and immortal demons, yep, they're in there...
Werewolves and vampires (*shivers), we got those too...
Tie that all up with a bow in a love story about a sexy and dangerous immortal incubus and a bada$$, exiled, immortal female warrior on a mission, and you have hours of delightful escape.

Yes, there are some dark elements. The clashes between these deities are heart pounding, edge of your seat, watch through your fingers moments, but you can't look away...immortals are so brutal !

I absolutely loved Incubus, something so different from the dark tales I've come to love from Celia Aaron, but I truly believe it's a winner! PS...I think there's more...she left us with some bread crumbs into the next episode!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of Incubus.

Gahhh! I need to catch my breath! I absolutely love everything Celia Aaron writes and jumped on the chance to review her PNR novel, Incubus. Good Lord was this story amazing!! I loved Roth and could not stop reading. His chemistry with Lilah was pure FIRE!!

Lilah De Artemis was once a warrior maiden in the service of Artemis. But after a fall from grace she is now a half mortal/half goddess cast out from Mount Olympus to spend her life rotting away on Earth. Now alone and missing her family, she will do anything to return to her warrior maiden status even betray Roth de Lis, a powerful incubus who feeds off the sexual desires of others. But as she spins her web of lies, Roth begins a slow, wicked seduction that eventually threatens to consume them both. But when Lilah’s deceit comes to light, will their torrid love affair be able to overcome a pact with the darkest of gods?

I absolutely loved this story and the use of mythology. Right away Lilah was different for Roth. As an incubus..women are women and his needs are to mainly use them to their hearts desire and to also appease and satisy his demon's vast appetite. But I loved that right away Lilah was different to him. He didn't know why or even how but for some reason she affected him on a deeper level. Lilah on the same foot learned that sacrifice was the key to her own hearts desire and what she really needed. Gah! I am being intentionally vague because I feel everyone should read this book! It had EVERYTHING I've come to expect from this author: It was a compelling and emotional read, had a HOT alpha hero and a sassy heroine and a unique and fantastic storyline. Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

I am sitting on my desk while writing this review and I am going back three days ago when I read Incubus. First I felt intrigued. I had read the blurb and I was like there is my kind of book. There is the book I have been craving especially in the paranormal genre. Secondly, I felt consumed by the story, dialogue and characters. It was unique and effortless. Lastly as I was finishing the book, I was blown away. Blown away by the action. Blown away by the magic of story. Blown by swoon worthy and sexy scenes that I indulged. Incubus was truly special. Celia Aaron created a world of wonder and spell binding magic that left me beyond amazed. Artistically portrayed, Incubus just brings to another universe of love and passion. I breathed and inhaled this sexy and invigorating book that tied me up and captured me from the beginning.

Incubus is a sensual and fast paced paranormal romance that simply pulled me. This book was magnificent to read. I love paranormal romances but Incubus was out of this world. Seriously, Incubus held a story so dynamic and with an engrossing yet soul pleasing essence that gave me goosebumps all over skin. I was in a thrilling ride going up to the skies. Palpable Action. Tongue waging suspense. Drop dead Phenomena. Incubus had a wicked blend of mythology. romance and history set in a fantasy world so captivating and seductive. This book reminded me of the time when I was 12 and I was into mythology. It was so reminiscent that I felt comfortable and mesmerized even thought because Celia gave a new spin on the history I used to love when I was 13. My whole soul was taken completely. Celia Aaron can write. She that gift that simply draws you in, Her talent is immense because she can write any genre she can think of with grace, artistic flair, beauty and enchantment. She definitely wrote a fantastic and perfect book. That id the reason why I love her books. She is unbelievable brilliant.

Celia Aaron just makes me fall in love with all her characters. I do not know what charm she pulls but I find myself so excited of her characters. Roth and Lilah were certainly in my list of favourite Celia Aaron characters. Amazing chemistry. Sinister to my heart and soul, Roth and Lilah were the perfect match. They were wine and chocolate with incredible sexiness that brought this book to another level. Lilah is a survivor, warrior with strength. She had a past that made her not trust people but she never gave up the fight to be home and the fight for the one she loves. I really liked a lot. Roth was an incubus who feeds on sexual energy. He was a powerful wrapped in a suit of debauchery and sin. But I loved the parts when he showed his gentle, kind and sweet side. It just made me swoon so hard. I definitely loved these two together.

Incubus is definitely one of my favourite paranormal romance. It just transports you into that world and you just want to live there, I cannot wait to find out about the other characters. They definitely a need a book of their own.

I have to start this review by stating that this is best read if 2017 for me. It was so much more than I was expecting. I truly believe that this story is a MUST ADD to anyone’s reading list (I have added it to my favorites file, and read it twice in three days).

This is 56 chapters of romance, epic adventure, and a story spanning centuries. It is a mini Iliad/Odyssey. If Homer were alive today and wanted to write an adventure romance novel, he would scrap his ideas because Celia Aaron had already beaten him to it! In this story you also get mini crash course in Greek mythology. We as readers get to interact with (among many others): deities, wolfs, vampires, gods, incubuses, succubus, nymphs, and Voltaire himself!

The story starts out with Lilah, an immortal who is hunting the allusive Roth de Lis in a supernatural night club, Red Handed. We are introduced to her in the most delicious way. We find that she is strong, determined, brilliant, and beautiful. She can kick a** and think her way out of any situation (she is a warrior maiden, after all). Lilah was banished from her “elysian homeland” for breaking her deity’s (Artemis) rules. Throughout most of the story Lilah is determined to get back to her home world and back into the arms of her beloved Artemis. This story is her adventure of meeting with different God’s, following their challenges to do just that. What Lilah was not expecting, was Roth.

Roth is an immortal as well, maybe the most powerful incubus in the world. He is known the world over for his “love of the flesh… and ability to please.” One night he goes in search of this new woman who is tracking him down to get answers to his questions: Why is she trying to find him? What does she want? And who sent her? He gets these answers and so much more.

Lilah and Roth come to an agreement and this is where the story truly begins. The story is written in dual narration, but also hops back and forth between the present and the past; the story is linear, just in different centuries. It was so great to read a bit of the present and just when you had a question about the past, the story switched and you got to read the answer to your question. I loved the portrayal of Apollo in this story, he really came to life and I was pleased with the liberties that this author took with the different deities personalities. The secondary characters are just as amazing and really add to the story. It is not often that you find a story that could be carried by the secondary characters unaided (if needed). It just proves the brilliance of this story and this author.

I could go on and on but it is best if you just read the story for yourself. I will say this, the first time I read the story I felt it was mostly an adventure read, but the second time I read it I felt it was a great romance. It can be both as it crosses so many categories, and takes you on the adventure of your life. I will leave you here and wish you a safe journey as you embark on this wonderful adventure. I received an ARC and am leaving and honest review, but let’s be real here, I also bought this book because it was so amazing!

Incubus by Celia Aaron is the story of Roth de Lis and Lilah de Artemis. Lilah was around 25 years old when she was chosen by the Goddess Artemis to be a Maiden warrior with immortality. Roth is a Incubus from the powerful underworld. As a Incubus he seeks pleasure from multiple women... and the women seek him.
Lilah fell pray to Farrow a wolf who tricked her which in the end caused her to be banished from Olympus and sent to Earth.
Now after such banishment she has been trying to find her way back and to redeem herself. Lilah thinks she has done so when she strikes a deal with the God of War to bring in Roth...who has a high price on his head.
Liliah tries not to feel anything for Roth...'isn't he just like other men to use women' she thinks. But the more she learns of him the harder it is for her. Roth too is so taken with Lilah he starts to fight his Incubus but he knows there is more to her than what she is showing.
I could not put this book down! Loved it!

Gods, goddesses, and other immortals; this is a great PRN/fantasy.

Roth is an incubus that needs to feed from sexual energy to survive. Women easily fall for his charms. He doesn't need to work hard to get them to bed, except for Lilah. She's able to resist him. Lilah is a maiden warrior exile to live on Earth. She's willing to do anything to return home. However, she didn't plan on falling for Roth's seduction. Lilah has to decide if she wants to continue with her plan, which means betraying Roth, or follow her heart and go against the gods for love.

All the characters were great, even the secondary ones. Roth isn't quite like other incubi. He's cocky, cheeky, commanding, exudes sexuality, but also has a soft side. It was hard to not fall for his charms. I liked Lilah as a heroine. She's a badass warrior, and she's able to take care of herself, whether it's fighting off enemies or Roth's seduction. I enjoyed the battle scenes and admired her strong willed and determination. I also liked the way she fend off Roth's advances. As for the secondary characters, Apollo was my favorite. I'd like to see more of him. Paris and Elena pique my interest. I love paranormal and this is an excellent one.

4.5 stars

This book actually surprised me. I wasn’t sure going into it that I would like it, but I absolutely loved Lilah and Roth. The plot in this book was written wonderfully and the author was fantastic in the world building. I especially loved that yet again, the gods were included in the story. I’m not sure what it is lately but I’ve been totally digging when the gods of Olympus are being introduced and put into a story. I especially loved the way the author gave the incubus actual feelings. I’ve read book before where incubuses were soulless creatures that didn’t care about anything no matter what, and were destined to either kill or impregnate someone who would eventually die from giving birth. This incubus, Roth, was so different. Yes, he spent many many years being that soulless creature, but he was able to snap right out of that when he met his match Lilah.

Fantastic read and awesome story all around

Every book I’ve read by this author has been completely different she is able to tackle any genre with ease.

This is a paranormal fantasy story that has gods and goddess, immortals demons and vampires. Lilah has been banished from her home and is hunting Roth in the hope that if she captures him all will be redeemed and she can return to Olympus.

I loved Lilah's character she is a woman who can take care of herself. No matter the obstacle in her way she keeps fighting. Roth is a bit of an idiot at times but yet he’s quite adorable. A story with so much going on to keep you invested in the story,

This isn’t my usual genre but I really enjoyed this change of scene.

i wasnt expecting this to be good! the beginning was a little meh- but it turned around eventually! i love greek mythology and havent read any paranormal NA in a while and this really hit the spot. i liked it a lot! the heroine was badass- as all Celia's heroines are and was strong and capable. the guy i was a little ugh at in the beginning but he got a lot better & was fully dedicated to the girl, which i ofc loved. their chemistry was fun and the plot itself was intriguing.
hell- i even cried in the end lol (altho that might have to do with me being up for 23 hours so)

anyways this was fun! i cant wait for book 2 aka Paris's book!! im excited for that because he was so sexy and i have a big thing for vamps so- looking forward to Paris & Elena's story.

Wow....just finished this fantastical romance...and just, WOW. I will probably go back & edit this review later as I'm a little drunk on the book right now, lol. First off, Celia.....freaking adore her writing....love all her books....so when I find out she's doing a paranormal romance?!?!? *dead* Paranormal is my first love, I fell into the whirlpool of romance last year-so to combine the two? Combustible. Second, that cover...it's freaking gorgeous & I would pretty much give a kidney for it to be signed and my "shelf of loves";) Third.....the story revolves around the Greek Gods...mythology.. and it was so beautiful & interesting to read. Lilah is one of Artemis warrior maiden (yup, as in virgin, as in forsaking men) and she truly loves her Goddess but yearns for more. In the story there are many flashbacks which explain how she gets cast out of the warrior fold, and normally? I don't like constant glimpses into the past, but it's CELIA and she is ah-mazing, lol....I found myself anxious for the next piece to be shown to be....completely enthralled by the ways of the Gods. And Lilah...keeping with Celia's theme of kick-ass chicks, she does not disappoint! Even without her godly powers, Lilah uses e everything in her repertoire to stay alive...she's cunning...she's witty....she's highly resourceful. Loved her, freaking loved her. Roth....ages old Incubus....hella powerful...and pretty much over it, lol. Until Lilah, until he feels again...more than the hunger the demon inside screaming to be sated... he is genuinely interested in her, ALL of her....and he knows her seeking him out isn't quite what she says it is...he knows it means trouble for him. But he could care less, he will do anything to keep her around. The chemistry isn't just on him though, she feels it too...she is aroused in ways she never knew, introduced into a world of sexual hunger & need. Totally not going to spoil this freaking fantastic read so if you want to know what happens? Buy this, devour this, because you will love it!!!!
