Chris, the head of Eden City’s Shifter Crimes team, is mated to his work. So it’s just an ordinary day when he finds himself in the woods chasing down a murder suspect. Only when he catches Danny, there’s nothing ordinary about him. Danny’s scent says he’s a shifter, and an Omega at that, and yet he’s neither. Chris is tasked with trying to build some trust with Danny while solving the mystery of what he is and whether he’s guilty of the crime he’s accused of.
Danny has always known he was different but buried those thoughts and feelings down deep. When he loses the only family he has ever known, he winds up on the run from the monster who killed them. Until another shifter tracks him down.
Chris is nothing like what Danny expected. Instead of killing him, he goes above and beyond to keep Danny safe. And as they grow closer, the Alpha helps him come to terms with who and what he is, bringing to the surface those feelings he’d done his best to forget.
Discovering the truth about Danny becomes the key to keeping him safe. But to truly set him free, Chris needs to free the wolf hidden within him. To do that, they need to get close. An Alpha and an Omega. What could go wrong?
Chasing Love is the second book of The Omega Haven series. It is a 60,000-word paranormal romance with a happy ending, no major cliffhangers, and it can be read as a standalone. There are scenes and language not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen. It includes mpreg.
Claire Cullen is an author and aspiring baker. Since she was a toddler, she has loved making up stories. Getting them down on paper proved a challenge in the early years when her preferred medium was finger puppets. She moved on to pen and paper, and later to keyboards, and hasn't looked back since, except for occasional bouts of nostalgia.
When a family is found murdered by a wolf attack; Chris Ferris - a werewolf and shifter crime policeman - is sure that Daniel Adams - the sole surviving member of that family - is the murderer.
Danny must be a new wolf; recently bitten, just first time shifted...and out of control!
But, when Chris finds Danny, his scent tells otherwise... It is Strange... He smells like a wolf, but has clearly never shifted, even though he is 20 years old.
What exactly is Danny?! A werewolf? A human?
And if he hasn't ever shifted, then who is the wolf responsible for his family's murder?!
Can Danny be proved as Inocent?!
In a world where Lycanthropy (being a shifter) is a disease to be cured with a vaccine, since it comes from a vírus passed through a bite... Is it possible than Danny has been infected?
And if he has, can he be cured from it?!
Or will he just have to accept who he ultimately is, now?!
Read the book to find out ;)

I enjoyed this book!
There was some originality to it, being a shifter book. It's not that same old story of shifters that we have read tons of times before...
I liked the aspect of Lycanthropy being an virus and a disease brought from a werewolf's bite that can (and should) be cured with an vaccine/antidote.
And I Really Liked the all self-discovery and self-acceptance that is present in the book! I Really Felt Danny's struggles to accept and embrace who he is.
I'm trying not to be very spoilerish here (and probably failing), so I'll just say that the one thing I didn't like here was the relationship between Chris and Danny, particulary how they got together... It was WEIRD!
I didn't really feel the connection between Danny and Chris... I wish I'd seen more of their feelings growing slower, so that I could feel their connection more.
Eventually, it was kind of explained why it happened the way it did. And, while it does make some sense, I still didn't really love how it happend.
Overall, this is a enjoyable book about the shifter world, with some tiny bits of mystery into it. It is book #2 of The Omega Haven Series and I enjoyed it so much that I got curious about book # 1 - Falling Together (which I haven't read) - about Will and Jake. I might pick it up, someday.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Claire Cullen has done it again...written a book that completely engaged me from start to finish. It was good seeing the familiar characters from the first Omega Haven book, but wow was I glad that this was Chris' book! I loved him in book one, and it was awesome to see him find his own happiness. Danny is adorable, sweet, and smart. He's the perfect balance for hard-edged, soft-hearted Alpha. My favorite part about Claire's writing is how she writes the shifting descriptions.
This was a good shifter book. It went just dark enough to get me interested, but not dark enough that I need to read a happy book after. I love the concept I loved the story. I wish we would have gotten a little more of that need that mates have. But overall good story.
I really, really enjoyed this second book in the Omega Haven series. I loved Chris and Danny, how their relationship slowly grew over time, it wasn't insta-jump-into-bed, and that they came to care for each other so much.
I also thought that the story of Danny's past, and his unusual genetics thanks to experimentation, was very well done and different. I get that it was done with his best interests in mind, but my heart hurt for the others going through the same thing that didn't have as successful results as Danny did.
Loved getting to see Will and Jake again, and I can't wait for more in this series.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I liked Chris from the first book, initially, I thought it would be Colin the Omega he would be interested in but I enjoyed the fact Danny came in with an interesting background. Danny was a bit naive and innocent but I liked that about him, the part of the hospital and his belief he could be cured of his shifter's ability was realistic. I also liked how the author tied Jake's abuser in the first book with Danny's family murdered. It builds on to the third book nicely.
Okay I thought book one was boring and slow but I decided to give the series another chance ani I am glad I did. This installment had a better pace and more interesting plot. Still not perfect but I as interested all the way through unlike book one where I skimmed by a lot of filler.
I enjoyed watching Chris and Danny fall in love. It's a sweet and gentle evolution. However, I am baffled by no mentioned of them being fated and what that could mean. I long to see Chris and or Will eviscerate Hart. To understand you need to read the first book if you haven't. I so need the next book.
This is a great read. Danny and Chris are both complex characters. The intriguing medical background was a unique take on shifters. It's a really solid m/m shifter series.
A good read. This series is a bit darker than the newer work. The setting being in a somewhat lawless city is odd. Pack life isn't the stereotypical stuff.
There are some dark events in this storyline and the slow recovery forms much of the story. Decent character development and some new cast members support this book, eventually providing a positive ending for Chris and Danny.
This book stands alone very well, which is unusual for this author, who tends to write serials. If you want to give this author a try, but you're hesitant to commit to a series, I think this is the book to read.
This was a great follow up to the first book. I enjoyed seeing more from the main characters from the first book and I can't wait to read the next book.
Chris and Danny were not looking for each other. Great hardship and trouble threw them together. This was a moving story of Danny learning about who he really is and how much patience Chris has. I thought this was a beautiful story about acceptance of other cultures. It shows that ignorance and the unwillingness to even try to understand, breeds prejudice in all society. Anyway, that's the feel good message I felt. Keep an open mind and heart for those around you. Everyone is not white, straight and rich. I LOVE this talented, passionate author. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS FABULOUS NEW SERIES!!!!!
I felt really iffy about Chris and Danny, because Danny didn't even know he was a shifter, let alone an omega, until just now, and it felt like he needed more time to get to know what life as a wolf and among a pack was like. But all he had to rely on was Chris, and then his heat came, and Chris didn't exactly hold back... And I know they explained that they had a shared heat, so Chris didn't entirely have control, but still. He had even told himself he needed to be careful, and then when the time came, he just.... went for it. I felt so bad for Danny after that, when Chris pulled away, feeling guilty, but how that made Danny feel like he had done something wrong. Danny was a sweetie, and it killed me that he had all these wolves looking at him weird, and he didn't even know what he was his whole life. I loved how Chris defended Danny and how they used this as the opportunity to change things in Eden City.
