Lucky Number Eleven

I’ve always been the person that does whatever someone tells me I can’t.

Can’t graduate with a four-point-oh? Check.
Can’t win a modeling contract without trying? Did it. Check.
Can’t make it in the pro football league? Triple check with an MVP Award on top.

When my best friend told me to stay away from his little sister, Layla, it didn’t sound like a challenge. Then again, I’d never seen her before.

He obviously wasn’t thinking about who he was talking to if he believed I could ignore her. I obviously wasn’t thinking of him at all when I fell in love with her either.

Fact of the matter is: I not only fell harder than a quarterback sack on a Sunday night game, but I did us one better. Kind of like that MVP award, only not so shiny. Sort of like my Player of the Year title, except the only thing I’m walking away with is an ex-best friend and a woman that hates my guts.

It’s okay. Just tell me I can’t win her back.

I’m Branch “Lucky” Best and today’s my lucky day.

4 stars!

description

Sometimes that play that wins the game isn’t the safe one. It’s not the pass over the middle that will definitely get you ten yards. It’s the Hail Mary at the end that you toss up with nothing but a prayer.

Lucky Number Eleven is a feel good sports romance that is sweet, sexy, and a lot of fun!

Layla meets Branch Best after she’s just had a break-up with a football player. She’s promised to swear off athletes, but there is something about Branch… Branch and Layla’s brother, Finn, are teammates and close friends. Branch knows that Layla is completely off limits to him. Branch may have a bit of a reputation when it comes to women, and Finn warns him off of his little sister.

Branch and Layla’s chemistry is so strong, neither one of them can head to the ‘off-limits’ warning. I loved watching them together. Their playful banter, fun and sexy time, and of course a bit of a forbidden love story happening. Then this story takes a bit of a twist. I liked the direction it went, it gave the story a bit more depth and more of the feels.

What I enjoyed most about this book was all the different relationships. Not just Branch and Layla, but I loved the Poppy and Finn dynamic. Not just them together, but Finn and Branch’s friendship, as well as Poppy and Layla’s. I love a book with an array of fantastic characters!

I listened to the audiobook of Lucky Number Eleven and I feel like the narrators really brought the story to life. I’ve listened to other books narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott, and they make a great narration team. I’d definitely recommend the audiobook.

If you’re looking for a brother’s best friend/sports romance with just the right amount of fun, feels, sexy, and sweet- pick this one up!

LUCKY NUMBER ELEVEN is part of the Expose collection of romances by Adriana Locke, but is a complete standalone. In this we meet Branch ‘Lucky’ Best and Layla James Miller, his best friend’s (Finn's) younger sister.

Branch and Finn decided to get away before their preseason starts up and head up to Finn’s families vacation house on the lake.

The last two people they expected to have the same idea as them is Layla and her best friend Poppy who is so into Finn it makes for great secondary reading.

Layla’s licking her wounds over a failed relationship three months gone, but still saddens her to a degree seeing him all over the tabloids with a female that isn't her, enjoying a vacation with someone that isn't her. A vacation they had planned together.

Branch is a no strings kind of guy, living life to the fullest, bedding who ever catches his eyes and not making any promises, until Layla catches his eye, she’s not to be touched, not to be messed with, forbidden in the aspect that she's his best friends sister.

"I'm Branch Best. And you are?"
" My sister," Finn warns, knocking his hand away.
" No touching, Best."
" It's a handshake!"
" It starts with a handshake with you," Finn explains
" Or a spilled drink. Or an exchange of insurance information.

Layla is a full time blogger, that writes about food, fashion and home decor. And isn't in the market of dating or more. She's sworn off athletes for good.

An undeniable attraction, a weekend full of sex with no strings attached. Once the weekend is over so will their time spent together. Only fate has other ideas.

He's this crazy confusion of dangerous and wonderful. He's terribly funny and has the stupidest sense of humor. And buried under all that brawn is a nice guy. He can be sweet. Then he's so filthy I get whiplash.

This was a really cute, sugary sweet story, it exceeded my expectations, usually jock stories surround an arrogant man whore but surprisingly he was none of those things. Maybe in his past it was checkered like a revolving door leading to his bedroom but until he set eyes on her and the tingles from their first handshake he was spell bound, she was his perfect match in every way..This is going to be a no frills review so no spoilers are divulged. This threw all the normal feels and then some that this author is known for, grab your credit cards and one click this come release day.

Branch ‘Lucky’ Best is part of the biggest playboy duo football has ever seen. You can always find him with his best friend Finn, ladies hanging all over them and having a good time at any bar. They decide to have a weekend away before the season starts but get a shock when Finn's sister, Layla had the same idea also. Branch decides it's the perfect opportunity to show Layla that his moves in the bedroom are even better than the ones on the field.

Lucky Number Eleven was forbidden, sexy, and so damn good you won't be able to put it down. It had me falling in love with these characters and Branch is now officially part of my Book Boyfriends hoard. I loved that it was such an easy read, it's one of those books that you'll sit down with thinking "only one chapter" and then next thing you know you're reading "The End."

There was a perfect balance of heat and intrigue that made it impossible to tear my eyes away from it. Finn and Layla's friend also had a little secondary story going on in the background that I found perfect. It didn't take over Layla and Branch's focus at all, instead it just added to why I couldn't stop reading. Clearly this is a recommend from me.

I was not a fan of this book. I felt like it was just little bits and pieces of every other sports romance out there and it was a solid case of telling not showing.

We're told Branch is a manwhore, but never shown it. He has some cheeky comments and tons of sexual innuendo, but that doesn't make someone a manwhore-it makes them a flirt. He supposedly has commitment issues, but he seems perfectly ready to jump into something with Lyla. We're told later on that he got a BJ from some chick in a bar, but in the original bar scene all she's doing is sitting on his lap. Content is important to me when it comes to developing a character's background and I feel like this one missed the mark.

I actually didn't like Lyla. I didn't see her fierceness despite being told that she has a fiery personality. Again, she had little quips and occasionally witty retorts, but that's about it. I didn't find her to be an inspiring person, in fact, she at times seemed a little weak to me. She also giggles, a lot. Bleh.

I didn't buy their chemistry or their "love". I don't think we, the readers, get to see them get to know each other because, again, tell not show. It's glossed over situations of "we sat on the porch and just talked for hours" and "we had sex and talked about ourselves" etc, etc. Speaking of sex, most of the scenes were told not shown and the ones that are shown were basically copy and pasted scenes from all other scenes in various books. Don't even get me started on the mentioning of his "nine inches".. I HATE that. It's a gross description and, in my opinion, it's tacky.

I gave this a two star instead of one because I was able to finish it and I also liked the secondary characters. I've read one other book by her and I gave it a three star, so maybe I'll try another one. People seem to really like her and I'm clearly in the minority with this one so I guess I'd say read it if you want? I think I've just read too many sports romances for this one to stand out to me.

Generic sports romance without any sport where the adults act worse than teenagers, are constantly jealous, don't communicate and he's afraid to commit because despite being 30 if i remember correctly, he's never had a girlfriend because he knows that other players cheat so he "won't do that to a woman". (I mean, or you could just not cheat? Because you are a human adult not an uncontrollable robot that has to put its penis in things?)
So not into male characters with little emotional maturity and even less command of actual logic.
Then there's an accidental pregnancy thrown in just so he can act like more of a dick to her.

“Everything in life is on some unseen, coordinated timing mechanism. Think about it. Everything is circling, staying in perfect harmony every day despite what humankind wants or needs or thinks. The Earth circles the Sun, the Moon circles the Earth, even our heartbeats are timed."

As always, Adriana Locke managed to make my reading moment just perfect with this sweet, sexy, flirty and feels good story of Branch and Layla. All the goodness seeped through the pages of this book that I had no difficulty of connecting to the story and of course with the characters. First few pages and I know I will be in for a great treat and I wasn't wrong! I finished this book in one sitting and even now I am still on a high because of Branch. Yup, you read it right! I am #Branched!!!!

Lucky Number 11 is part of Expose Collection of Romances but you can read it as a standalone. Following the story of Branch Best and Layla James Miller, this book will not just ruin the bromance but ruined what was left of my ovary. Gahd! That cover!!! I may have drooled way overly because of it because who wouldn't with that abs? But more than that, I loved how Addy portrayed Branch and Layla. It wasn't forced instead, a flawless delivery of their characters that in the end just made their chemistry strong and off the charts. It felt like they're just made for each other. Their easy going and witty banters together with their flirty inuendos put a smile on my face. I love reading it because it connected with me. Add up the heated scenes and I was, "This is just sooooo good, I don't want it to end." I felt that the moment I started reading the book and it never waned until I finished it. There might be some push and pull that made me want to punch throat the characters, but I could not deny the fact that I love them both. I was invested in their jouney that I savored it and I am glad I did. It was wonderfully crafted and I had a lot of fun reading it.

Lucky Number 11 is not your usual sports romance story. I mean, if you're looking for some action in the field, you will not get it here. More like the book focuses in a forbidden-ish romance due to younger sister and best friend relationship, the possible outcome on dating a play boy, the in betweens and of course how life is not just about how you adjusts when the playbook's changed. It was brilliantly written what with Adriana Lockes' football analogy. Clear enough how much she loved football. Other than that, the story no matter how light hearted had depth in it. The words of wisdom Addy incorporated in this wild journey that is so fitting is a proof of that.

Lucky Number is more that just dating a player, it is more than just the play book. More like everything in life was written in perfect timing. Because Layla and Branch's journey? They did not planned it out. Who would have thought, a weekend of witty banters and heated moments will turn out to be more? It's really fitting,
"Life is timed to a watch we don’t control. Things happen today to set up things later that we can’t predict or see or imagine. Don’t fight it. Embrace it.”
And they did.

I highly recommend this book! If you want lighhearted, swoony-filled romance without angst but with full of sense of humor and witty banters? Then this book is for you.

4.5 coffee cake & candy apple stars

There are so many things to love about and reasons to enjoy this book. Aside from adding yet another Locke hottie to my ever-growing book boyfriends list, Lucky Number Eleven dropped at the perfect time and was just the book I needed. It was all kinds of sweet, sexy, scandalous, and oh so addictive! Branch Best will certainly leave you swooning, drooling, and your ovaries exploding.

Lucky Number Eleven is part of the Exposé collection, which includes a variety of full-length novels from some of the most sought out and best selling authors in the indie romance genre today. Now this one—this book wasn't one I was about to pass up on, especially knowing a bit of its background. I've always loved Adriana Locke and she's never failed me when it comes to every single book I've read from her. This one isn't any different at all. Her words just give me this certain kind of thrill; her books always filled with feels and humor that I revel in. From the very first page, Branch and Layla had me hook, line and sinker. There was no stopping the devouring and manic page-turning episode that happened.

Branch Best (aka Lucky) is the wide receiver for the Illinois Legends who's also known for his charming playboy ways on and off the field. Layla James Miller is a lifestyle blogger who also happens to be Branch's best friend's sister. Branch was supposed to stay away as his best bud and teammate warned him off Layla. But Branch was never good at following instructions. And once these two started to get to know one another and spent more time with each other, walls and defenses started to lower down. A calm comfort flowed through their conversations. A surprising easiness surrounded them every time they were together. They just clicked. But is that really enough for what life throws their way?

The chemistry between these two, that undeniable sizzle and spark that flowed through them was palpable and present ever since they first laid eyes on each other at the cabin. I wasn't completely on board with Branch, his filthy humor and cocky personality in the beginning—I know, I know—but he was able to change my mind about him without me completely being aware. I guess those little snippets of softness, thoughtfulness and vulnerability he showed somewhere in the middle of everything made me have that change of heart. Not to mention how amazing and utterly panty-melting he turned out to be in the end. And sweet Layla, she really was a ray of sunshine. Heartache is unavoidable in any situation, but I loved how she handled Branch, his misgivings and imperfections, and the crazy unexpected situation they found themselves in. I just really enjoyed where Branch and Layla's juicy, gossip-worthy tale took me.

Also, someone who's familiar and fairly acquainted with most of Adriana Locke's books will, without a doubt, have a field day reading this. You'll be seeing so many of the characters from her other books in this one that it's kinda mind-blowing. I have no clue how she's able to manage to bring them all together, even if it's just a mere mention here or there, but she did it. She made it happen. And I had a freaking blast—like mouth hanging open, incredulously laughing, kind of blast. It's just absolutely genius! Either you love football or not, Lucky Number Eleven is definitely yet another must read from this incredible author!

I didn't care for this book. H goes to bar with Layla's brother after meeting her. He gets a bj from a groupie. Plus Finn made me mad as well. Sleeping on and off with Layla's BFF while still sleeping with groupies. Once Branch and Layla started to get to know one another they were alright. Why don't these book characters get STD's? It's one thing to have unprotected sex with someone you know but then to have it with someone you know sleeps with anyone that has a hole is another. I know its fiction but I wish the sex was safe so young readers constantly get reinforcement about safe sex.

Breaking News: Is Branch Best really, the best?

A fun and quick sort of sports romance with a surprise inside. Branch Best is a well known player on and off the field. Some people thing he's the best and some people say it's all luck. Layla is a blogger who hasn't had much luck in the romance department especially when it comes to dating athletes. To get her mind off of her latest ex she heads up to her families cabin with her best friend Poppy, where her brother Finn happens to be with his best friend and teammate Branch. The attraction is there. The warnings are too. Wonder if Branch or Layla will get lucky?

This was a pretty good read. Angsty and fun at times. Poppy was a great character for adding humor in. If you like angsty contemporary romance, then this is one you should go for.

This is perfect book for those who like to read about sexy athletes. Although this is a sport romance, there is not much sport competition, but there is a whole lot of ego, charm and sexy body.

What you can also expect is a fun story, but with surprising and heartbreaking twists. I was slightly surprised when emotions really caught me. I even dropped a few tears several times. And although our heroes are not perfect, and especially Branch did some stupid moves, I really liked those heroes.

I also very enjoyed the story of the secondary characters. Finn and Poppy are too good.

I only did not give more stars, because I would like more, more developed situations. Then a book would have been a lot longer, but I liked them so much that I would not mind.

For me, Adriana Locke is amazing author. She writes engaging and heart-grabbing stories, so if you have a chance, do not hesitate to read any of her books. I recommend!

This was the perfect long weekend read! It was sexy and sweet, with the trademark witty banter and innuendo that I love so much in Adriana Locke's books! Lucky Number Eleven is part of the Expose collection of romances, but is a standalone.

Branch and Layla had incredible chemistry and I was pulled into their story right from the start. I liked that although it's their mutual attraction that starts the ball rolling, their actual romance is gradual and organic. Yes, there is a bump in the road and the inevitable push and pull, but it works because these characters actually grow to care about each other and you're invested in their relationship. They each give as good as they get and their back and forth verbal sparring and innuendo had me grinning like a fool.

Like many of Adriana Locke's books, the secondary characters are just as amazing as the main hero and heroine, and this time was no different. Layla's best friend, Poppy, really stole the show for me and I loved every crazy thing that came out of her mouth. She's the supportive, honest-though-it-hurts, wonderfully loyal girlfriend we all need or wish we had. Her own romance with Layla's brother, Finn, was equally entertaining and I was DYING as she explained her theory on the correlation between relationships and football positions.

Man I'm so disappointed with this book. I thought this was a romance but that's not what I got out of it. Yes it was a somewhat romance but not really. Am I making sense? Maybe not. Guess I'd have to give some spoilers (not to many) to explain.

First of all, I felt like they didn't really start connecting until 70% of the book. Yes they had sex before that but not really a connection. And no where throughout the book did I feel any love. Just a real like for each other (if that makes sense). That's the most spoilers I'll dish out because I really like this author. But that being said, I'm highly disappointed with this book. Not a love story for me. More like an "oops, guess we'll just deal with it together" kind of book.

I'm sure most people will like it but not me. I'm into more romance.

✨️Thank you so much to Adriana for this gifted audiobook for my honest review! I had such a good time listening to this audiobook. It was done in duet narration and the narrators did an amazing job! I absolutely felt the attraction and chemistry between Layla and Branch from the get go. Layla had just gotten out of a relationship with a cocky football player but that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun with her brother's hot teammate, right? They had what they thought was just a fun time at Layla's family vacation home, but little did they know a surprise pregnancy would come from that fun time. Of course they're both shocked to find out. I loved the growth that they both had in this story. I loved Finn, Layla's brother and how supportive he and her best friend Poppy were. This was an overall such a great time and I definitely recommend it!

I've been Branched!

It's starting to get annoying, but I can't bring myself to feel differently: 5 lucky stars to another Adriana's book!

I loved this book! I loved the characters, I enjoyed the reading so much! I laughed, swooned, got anxious, hot, light, full of joy and love! I felt Lucky (see what I did there? Lame, I know).

Branch was amazing! He was cocky, sexy, hot, funny. You met Lincoln Landry, right? It was something like that, but somehow I felt Branch more vulnerable than Linc. And that was so sweet. I felt like hugging him, putting him on my lap and telling him everything would be fine.
Except when he was being a childish d**k...in that moment I wanted to slap the hell out of him. But every time he was wrong, he apologized!
My point is: during the whole plot, when he was trying to figure things out and trying to tame his feelings, he was vulnerable, he was lost, like he needed someone to lean on, as Finn would be the right person, but Branch kind of couldnt lean on him for obvious reasons. And I must say, I loved this bromance so much!
Branch didnt have a big family and meddling loving simblings like Linc did that could help him and call him on his bulls**t. He was on his own, struggling to control and understand his feelings for Layla and her news, and that's why I felt him vulnerable.
And boy, was he sexy!! Like: "As long as I have a face, you have a seat". *Fans self*

Layla made me so proud! She was so strong, so fierce, so determined! She was sexy in a sweet way, she was funny and so adorable to have around. I loved the friendship she had with Poppy! They were amazing together!
Layla was so real, so relatable. She had insecurities, fears, she panicked when she was supposed to, but she was determined to work everything out! I loved that she had standards and stuck to them! She was mature in a sweet and young way, if that makes sense.

Poppy and Finn were amazing together and I loved everytime they were around! (if there was a book about them, I wouldnt complain!!).

And oh how much I loved Layla and Branch together! They were fire, sweetness, amazing banter, lightness, cumplicity. They learnt to be a team! They were sexy as hell, but full of funny times. They were so compatible, so fitting for each other!
"I'm taking pride in being your man. If you'll have me"

And I think I saw something about the next book, right, Gibson Guys?

AHHHH and Max!! My Max! Oh My God, Max is in there too! ohhh Max...

Anyway, if you're still wondering about reading or not this book, grab your edition, head into the gossip and find more about Layla and Branch's "Lucky Ever After".

I've come to the conclusion that I can NEVER go wrong with an Adriana Locke romance. She continuously brings us AMAZING, DELIGHTFUL, and SEXY characters that are completely unforgettable. Her storylines never lack passion, hilarity, and romance. Her writing style pulls me in and her words keep me at her mercy. I'll never want for a great romance or a great laugh as long as she keeps giving us these fantastic love stories.

LUCKY NUMBER ELEVEN brings us Branch Best and Layla Miller, two characters that you will ADORE instantly. "You’ve been quite the player."

"I have been. No doubt. I’ve been the best, actually."

5 Candy Apple CROWNS

Lucky Number Eleven by Adriana Locke is hands down, without question my favorite book of hers. It has absolutely every thing in I love in a sports romance: cocky sports hero, feisty heroine, and sweet and sexy times. I never wanted it to end.

Branch Best is my kryptonite. Seriously, this man hits all of my points for a hero. He is sexy as heck with the body of an athlete (hello, cover), and he has the confident swagger that I cannot resist. Even with his arrogance, there are these moments of kindness beneath the surface when he interacts with Layla that just makes you swoon and wins you over. Layla couldn't resist his charms and neither will you.

Layla is my favorite heroine. She is smart and witty, and so feisty that she has no problem putting Branch in his place before and after their time at the cottage. Her ability to stand up to him, demand things from him, and walk away from him had me cheering her on the whole way through the novel. Add to that the way she deals with the surprise plot development and I was sold on her character. I really love her just as much as Branch.

This story is engaging from the opening pages. The Expose article for the opening of Lucky Number Eleven is pure brilliance. Starting the reader in the middle of the conflict makes us desperate to see how the characters got there. Then Adriana Locke's use of secondary characters, especially Poppy, as a form of comedy is brilliant. I love all of her moments with Layla. In fact I want a friend just like her, supportive, loving, and willing to throw down for her friend. The chemistry between Branch and Layla carries the story as well as the conflict. The author's choice of conflict is real and believable, causing their inevitable split to feel organic and natural. Don't fret, though, because this couple and Adriana Locke do not let readers down, and she delivers an epilogue that will absolutely have you swooning.

Lucky Number Eleven is absolutely, positively PERFECT! Adriana Locke has scored with her newest couple, and their journey to happily-ever-after had me glued to my Kindle. I never wanted it to end.

Layla and Branch are blindsided in more ways than one in this steamy, fun, and heartwarming HEA! Layla is done done done with swarmy good for nothing jocks that think just because they have a little ability on the field they can run roughshod over her. Her latest ex has once again proven that this whole subsect of men should just be written off as players and liars. If I had to pick one facet of Adriana Locke's writing that is my absolute favorite I'd pick her banter. I always find myself laughing out loud or thinking that I'm reading a conversation that could totally have taken place with my friends. I just always have such a good time reading her stories.
In this particular story I love the bit of taboo with a hint of sexual tension. With Branch being Layla's brother's best friend it makes her off limits. But that doesn't stop the attraction between these two! This story is funny, hot, a little angsty and I loved the premise of the tabloid headlines and how the stories were built around them. I really enjoyed Branch and Layla's story.

This one hit the spot!!! Definitely pick this up when you are looking for a fun, flirty quick read - a story you can take down in 4-5 hours!!! This book was 10 times better than what the synopsis says. Branch was off the charts swoony, and Layla was the perfect compliment to his funny banter. I loved the whole thing! I ate it up like fair food...yes that is a book reference :)

Brother's best friend hooks up with sister. Of course stuff gets heated, men fight, yes they are hot football players. Yes there is a brother-sister-best friend-side story. Yes it's got a small town family feel to it too. No eye rolling drama just a fun but complicated storyline that hits all the right buttons!

This isn’t a romance novel. Because when you read romance, you expect .... I don’t know....? ROMANCE! And a path to LOVE.
But in this case, there was none of that. And of course that was a major disappointment. Both MC kind of felt obligated to be together and that was a complete turn off for me.
At least I didn’t DNFed it, hence the 3 stars review instead of the 2 stars I originally felt.

Could the blurb be any more trite? I'm just surprised it didn't start off with him having a ONS.

And he says he hates dogs.

4.5 Stars

“…I’ll admit I’m no saint. It’s so much more fun being a sinner.”

I loved Branch and Layla! To be honest, I didn’t really know much about this book before diving in, I just knew that Adriana Locke wrote it and since I’ve loved everything I’ve read from her, I knew I had to read this too! Even without not knowing what it was about, the book was nothing like I was expecting. It ended up being even better. I’m not even going to rehash the storyline because there’s a pretty big twist that takes this story from light and sexy to something much more emotional and involved and I thought it was really great. This book has a little of everything - we’ve got a bit of a forbidden pairing (best friend’s sister), cocky athletes, strong heroine, horrible exes, life changing circumstances, plenty of heat, and lots of heart.

Sometimes that play that wins the game isn’t the safe one. It’s not the pass over the middle that will definitely get you ten yards. It’s the Hail Mary at the end that you toss up with nothing but a prayer.

I liked how light and fun things were between Branch and Layla when they first meet. He’s been warned away from her since she’s his best friend’s sister but there’s something about Layla that he’s unable to resist. Their weekend together was sweet and sexy and you really start to fall for them. After an ugly breakup with another football player, Layla’s not interested in starting something with another player and Branch knows the score and doesn’t do relationships so their no-strings pairing is perfect. Things quickly take a turn, though, and they are both thrust into uncharted territory. I have to say, this is where the book really drew me in. The reactions from every single character to this new development were all perfect. Some of them may have made me angry with them in that moment, but they were all so true to character and 100% realistic. But then I liked how they started to work through it, and not just Layla and Branch, Finn and Poppy were also important parts of this equation and I loved their parts just as much as I did Layla and Branch’s! I will also say that for having such a complicated relationship, Layla and Branch were surprisingly functional and open with each other. I loved that theirs was a slow fall, they had to work for everything that happened between them and that made the reward that much sweeter. I absolutely loved the ending and the epilogue made me a little misty eyed!! It was so sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I hope you do too!

This book's been on my tbr for a while and I finally managed the time to read it. I admit the first thing that caught my attention was this beautiful cover, it's so cute. And I believe this was my first book by Adriana Locke but I already added her books to my wishlist. <3

So, this book was really fun to read. I really liked how the prologue gave so much fire and curiosity to know what would happen.
Layla is Finn's little sister and Finn's Branch best friend.
After Layla got 'dumped' by a quarterback, she decides to give up football players all together.

"My mom says mistakes aren't mistakes unless you fail to learn from them"

She is totally sure she will be able to cut loose this karma of getting hurt while dating players but, Branch Best is not ready to let Layla put all football players in the same box. He's gonna do everything to change her mind.

"'Does this mean you've been thinking about me, Branch Best?'
'A hell of a lot more than I should be, Layla James Miller.'"

And... after a whole weekend of fun, something will change their lives forever. Decisions will have to be made and things will change. They will have to figure it out if what they have is worth it and fight for it.

"Nothing is random and nothing is a coincidence. Everything is running on a schedule, a pattern that we don't see or control."

"Life is timed to a watch we don't control. Things happen today to set up things later that we can't predict or see or image. Don't fight it. Embrace it."

After everything they've been through, someone from her past will come crashing their bubble and this will make them see, or better, it will make him see the wonderful thing that is just at his reach.

"'I can image. You've been quite the player.'
'I have been. No doubt. I've been the best, actually.'
Rolling my eyes, I sigh. 'Only you would take pride in that.'
'Now', he insists, 'I'm taking pride in being your man. If you'll have me.'"

I loved reading this book. Every scene had this thrilling excitement that just kept me reading until the end.
Also, a book about Finn and Poppy would be so great, they are awesome and there was so much history between them, it was so cute.
This is a romantic comedy that will leave you with a grin and warm heart.

Lucky Number Eleven ...Adriana Locke is certainly one of my go too authors and she has once again knocked it out of the park!
Layla has just come off a bad breakup with her football boyfriend. She knew that he wasn't "The One" but cheating is a definite deal breaker. She decides to take her best friend and head to the family cabin in the mountains for a bit of regrouping
Branch has lived his life in the spotlight . He is one of the bad boys of football. He is a player on an off the field. His best friend Finn decides they need to get out of the spotlight for a long weekend and head to his parents cabin in the mountains. A bit of R & R to sooth the savage beast! What Finn didn't know is that his sister Layla had planned the same adventure!
The moment that Layla and Branch meet the attraction is obvious immediate but when she opens that sassy mouth and continuously puts him in his place ..he wants her even more.
Layla knows that she should steer clear of Branch but their is more to this bad boy that meets the eye. The more she gets to know him ...the more she likes him?
A wild and crazy getaway is all they have and all they can have! They both will end up taking more away from this getaway than they expected!!
Loved it !!

Loved it! I love Adriana Lock's books! This one might just be my favorite one so far!

Branch ‘Lucky’ Best and Layla James Miller are amazing! Their love story in kind of unconventional. They have a fling. Shocking... no. But, Layla just got out of a relationship with football player and is not looking for a new one. She is attracted to Branch, and gives into her attraction. Branch is her brother's best friend and teammate. That makes Layla out of bounds for Branch... but he doesn't listen. Their fling leads to a more complicated situation which leads to more complicated relationships for everyone involved.

I loved the witty bater in this book. I loved the main and secondary characters. I loved everything about it. Great read by the pool on a weekend!
