This book is a complete stand alone story about those brave men and women who headed west along the Oregon Trail.
Trinity and her family are heading west on the Oregon Trail. They sold their farm in Missouri and were heading to Oregon. The trail was hard for a lot of people, and Trinity saw that firsthand early on. People were injured; they fell ill, and some even died. She was thankful she had a good, strong Christian family and that she and her parents were so close. Until the day they weren’t. The unthinkable eventually happened to her family too, and by the time they reached Oregon, it was just Trinity and her mother. She saw romance blossoming early on in their travels, but the loss of her father had destroyed any hopes of that for herself. Time doesn’t heal all wounds, but it does make them easier to deal with, and eventually, Trinity found that she still had the capacity to love, and the man she’d first become interested in early on in their journey was still available and very much interested in her. He hadn’t made anything out of his dream yet though. It was all still just a dream, and even her mother was skeptical of his ability to make those dreams come true. But Trinity never gave up. This story was beautiful. I’ve read many sets of books including stories by this author, and frankly, a lot of the stories were good, but none of them were as good as this.

Very short book! Traveling with her parents from Missouri to Oregon in a wagon train of about 1000, Trinity undergoes a tragic loss. She and her mother must either turn back, or rely on fellow travelers to get them to Oregon City. A young man named Dillon Goodman, assisting another person on the trail, takes them the rest of the way.
At about 15% into the book they’ve arrived. Trinity and her mother become servants for a wealthy family in town. Meanwhile Dillon decides to make money in other ways to set his future, hopefully with one sweet girl, who through the constancy of friendship, patiently tries to make his own.
Sweet story, just not much to it. About 80 pages total, although the book continues with previews from 3 other books along with author information.

Trinity and her parents joined a wagon train following the Oregon Trail to Oregon. Things went well at first, but her father was fatally injured along the trail and Trinity and her mother decided to continue to go with the wagon train rather than turn back. Trinity had made friends with a young man and he assisted Trinity and her mother along the trail. Upon arriving in Oregon, both Trinity and her mother were hired to work in the home of a wealthy rancher for very little money, but they were provided with food and a place to stay.
This book continues with the story of people they met and life on the ranch. Read this book for the story of the love of Trinity's life and his plans for a future for them. I enjoyed this love story.
Dreams and the reality once on the trail, one can’t even imagine. As Trinity said,it was boring, dusty, food was probably the same, day after day. Her highlight was the evening with musical instruments, and folks gathering to share and relax. Dillion looks at her, he was the one who ran down the gulch to her father pinned beneath the wagon. Her life has changed, romance was only a thought, it was her mother and her now. The author painted a very real picture of those days. It captures, and haunts us as readers, how could one do it. The time in 1837 the economic to make a living was almost nil. Readers will enjoy and want to read this through, hoping there is happy days for Trinity ahead.
