True Blood meets Fifty Shades Book 1 of 5 of Lucille Moncrief’s the Nefarious Series
Talcott Henderson, dead for over one hundred years old, wants to live again. Enslaved and abused, he longs to destroy his maker and return to the world of the living. But first, he must replace himself with someone else. Armed with only a silver tongue and a fuzzy sense of right and wrong, he sets his sights on Elyse Delafayette, a lonely melancholic. But Samuel Quartermaine, a vampire hunter with a dark past of his own, bears a grudge against Talcott's maker, and stalks Talcott from the shadows of the cemetery walls.
Will Talcott succeed in convincing Elyse to join the ranks of the undead before Samuel can stop him?
Fans of Dracula, steampunk, and gaslight fantasy will love this collection of dark and lurid tales. If you're tired of sparkly vampires and sickly-sweet romances, sink your fangs into the Nefarious Series and get a bigger bite out of the vampire world.
This short read has definite darkness. Guilty pleasure. Hypnotic compulsion to obey the darkest desires. But it's not eroticism written just for the sake of kinky sexual ploys, though that is present also. There is a well formed plot with players carefully introduced but no where near fully unwrapped yet. Just a taste. Enough to make you want to know more and see where the twists in this tale will take you. If you like dark erotica without a guarantee of a happy ending, you'll certainly enjoy this quick read. If not, I suggest you skip and move to something lighter!
I haven't read a sexy vampire book in a while and this one definitely fit the bill. This is a short story. It is just a taste for who the characters are but I will continue the series to see what transpires down the road. Elyse is a woman who gets migraines so she goes to see two doctors, not knowing they are vampires. She is very intrigued by them and continues to see them. One of the vampires is the other's creator and he is not happy with his creator. There will be more to the story there. At the end some vampire hunters arrive and that is where it ends. I am very curious what will happen when the story continues.
An Enticing introduction into a very dark and sensually twisted world where vampires play with their food and hunter's seek to balance the scales- the sketches were detailed and added a really neat touch to the book . At first I was a bit lost as to what exactly was happening but as the story progressed the characters and their role begin to take shape - this is a new author for me and I am definitely moving forward in this series - I am writing this on my tablet ,pardon any grammatical errors
