Have you ever been embarrassed to invite someone into your home? Cobwebs in the corners? Laundry piled to the ceiling? Mile-high dishes in the sink? If it’s true that cleanliness is next to godliness, does that mean those of us too stressed and over-worked to maintain a clean home are ungodly? Perhaps, God would be appalled to enter many of our homes... but not for the reasons we might think! Today’s world is full of distractions and many litter our living space without us giving them a second thought. How can Christian women cleanse their homes of the idols and temptations that hinder salvation?
Monica Mynk is a high school Chemistry teacher and author from Central Kentucky. She spent her early years reading books with her mother, acting out plays with her brother and sister, climbing in corncribs, and helping her dad on the farm. Periodically, she loves to tell corny science jokes.
In her writing, she battles the meme-driven sound-byte belief system with strong characters who have the word of God on their hearts and who take Biblical stands against even the slightest truths and injustices. She desires to help broken women grow exponentially in their faith through the stories she presents.
I found this book engaging and the questions at the end personally challenging. I received a copy of this from the author for review. I have recommended to our ladies group that we consider using this for our next set of devotionals. Monica tackles some tough questions that many Christian women ask of themselves, and even introduces a few that many women haven't give much thought to.
Routine can be the enemy of any Christian woman's spiritual walk. Examining ourselves to see if we are doing all that we can and should is never easy, but Ms. Mynk's book encourages readers to do just that.
She has a clean, well-focused writing style, which facilitates learning. It is obvious from the quality of the book that she has spent a great deal of time thinking about it before sitting down to write it.

This book made me stop and evaluate my Christian walk. It is very thought provoking but not harsh. The author has the courage to directly discuss, in love, many sensitive topics that are very relevant today. She considers how to keep a house and home pure from literal and spiritual clutter. I would highly recommend this book for individuals or ladies' Bible studies. I received a free copy and am returning the favor with an honest review.
