Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer #4

Barry the Lonely Reindeer & His Bashful Elf

Rate this book
From the world of Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer.

The North Pole isn't exactly as it appears in fairy tales. It has the elves and Santa and his reindeer, but Santa and Mrs. Claus aren't the jolly couple the world believes them to be. Far from it, actually. The reindeer are all shape-shifters who transform into gorgeous beings in human form and are respected by all.

Reindeer Barry Simpson leads a simple life. He works, comes home, then does it all again the next day. Once upon a time, he was outgoing and social. That changed after he became involved with an abusive reindeer. It's been a year since Barry ran and he's finally getting over his fears, eager to start living again.

Ricky is a shy elf who blushes at every turn. One accidental touch and Barry's convinced he's finally met his mate. He's never been with an elf before but he knows in his heart that this is the man he's been waiting for.

Between meddling parents, an overprotective brother, and even a sad Santa Claus, Barry and his elf are pulled in several directions. When his abusive ex-boyfriend starts getting violent, Barry has to fight to protect not only himself but also those he loves, including his newfound mate.

Ms. Kay has once more taken things up a notch with this fourth book in the series! Along with the sweet romance and sexy times she has added a dash of suspense and danger and done it exceedingly well! Barry and Ricky are just wonderful and are both worthy additions to the North Pole family. This story was by far the most complex of the series thus far and she balanced all the parts beautifully. This book continued her liberal use of humor and made me laugh out loud multiple times. Just love this series so much and hope she continues it for many years to come!

The titles suggest this series is all fun and humorous. It’s not. Of course it’s fun to read about reindeer shifters and elves falling in love on the north pole while Mrs. Claus is a ho, and Santa the doormat that takes it. But these books aren’t funny in a slapstick kind of way.

In this book we have reindeer Barry who had been in an abusive relationship, and where his ex still harasses him. And we have elf Ricky who is shy and has very low self-esteem because of a past boyfriend who used him and always told him he wasn’t worth anything.

Barry and Ricky meet and Barry immediately knows Ricky is something special. But Ricky thinks Barry would just be using him for sex, even though Barry assures him he is not. In fact, Ricky is Barry’s mate, and Barry wants to spend the rest of his life making the shy elf happy.

And then there is Barry’s abusive ex who is trying to hurt either Barry or Ricky to get to Barry….

I was quite enjoying this, but I was actually quite disappointed about this thing that didn’t even have anything to do with our main characters. Santa was a huge letdown for me. He is struggling with the separation of him and his wife this entire book. But it is also shown often what a truly despicable person Mrs. Claus is. And what does Santa do in the end? I was very surprised by that term of events.

But I did like the romance between Barry and Ricky. There was lots of hurt/comfort going around and I liked these two together.

Still…. Santa… you dumb man….

I can't believe I'm publishing book #4 when Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer wasn't even supposed to be part of a series. Thankfully, Willy wouldn't leave me alone and insisted there was more to his world than just him and Randy. :)

Barry the Lonely Reindeer & His Bashful Elf is a little more serious than the others but it's a 'Willy' book so you know there's also a bit of silliness.

This was book 4 in the "Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer" series. Barry who is Blake's little brother he is lonely when Willy and Seth come into the shop that he is working in he meets a young shy elf Ricky who happens to be his mate. Both of them were in abusive relationships. Blake was physically and mentally abused for a year by and older rich guy Ashton. Ricky was abused more sexually by a friend of his fathers. Abuse is never okay and I felt bad for what each of these characters went through. Turns out Ashton wants Barry back and he is willing to do anything to get what he wants. At first Ricky thinks that Barry only wants him for sex and after they have it he leaves. It was funny when Aston tries to kidnap Barry and Willy stops his plans this was a good read. The guys do everything thing to keep him safe. When the parents Ricky's mother doesn't like him because he is a reindeer. I loved that Barry stood up to his ex. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Barry the Lonely Reindeer & His Bashful Elf is the fourth book in the ‘Willy the Kinky Elf’ series. The stars are, Reindeer Barry Simpson, the younger brother of Blake from Book 3, and Ricky, a shy elf. This is told in first person through Barry’s pov.

TY to Candi Kay for the review copy!

It's reindeer Barry's turn for love. Barry's Blake's younger bro but he doesn't pull the big guys sleigh as he's an accountant at the Nth Pole. He falls for his elf mate Ricky. They all have a bit of trouble believing in mates but listen and learn boys. Listen and learn!

Santa's looking like he’s down for the count. It sucks, because hello it’s Christmas!

“All I know is that there are less than two weeks until Christmas Eve and Santa Claus better get jolly quickly or it’ll be a miserable holiday for a lot of damn people.”

Ricky is 100% the mate of Barry but he’s in denial because his ex made him feel like a dirty secret and he’s shy. What floated my boat was Ricky being such an elf, walking around in green spandex with bells on. It’s their costume and all but if you picture it it’s kinda hilarious. He’s a smaller but heaps cuter Will Ferrell. But the biggest question of all is if Mrs. Claus is gonna hold the annual Christmas Bash because elves love peppermint whiskey, reindeer like to party, and Randy likes a speech.

My nsfw blog review.

These books just get better and better. Loved getting the chance to meet Barry, Blake's younger brother. This is another Reindeer/Elf mating situation where things don't always go as planned. Barry and Ricky both have to deal with crappy exes and even Santa is dealing with Mrs. Clause leaving . We also meet Dylan the subject of the next book. Even though this book is more on the series side it is still humorous and of course we get to see our old friends from the previous books.

This series shouldn't be taken seriously -- honestly, it's all completely OTT and rather ridiculous, but it's fluffy fun with enough smut and drama mamas to satisfy every sweet tooth. I'm sure I'll read the rest of the set, but I think two books in two months is enough for me for another 10 months or so.

I hope I am correct in my conclusions that there will be still yet another book next year! *grin*

This was full of sadness and "evil" but, it was also full of hope so that made it a good read for me!

I'm having a great time revisiting this series. Once again, I can't possibly improve my original review.

I am completely and totally in love with this series. From the moment I saw Willy the Kinky Elf in a Goodreads list, I became obsessed with it. I've been waiting all year for this book but decided to wait and finish off 2017 with this one. Nothing better than finishing the year with a great book.

Barry's book is more serious than the others. He's escaped an abusive relationship but finds himself in a funk. Until he meets sweet elf Ricky. As soon as they touch hands, Barry realizes that Ricky is his mate. I love both of these guys. I loved the sweetness of them. And the spice!

I'm so glad that Barry was strong enough to get away from his ex, swarmy Ash. I hated Ash and wanted to rip him apart for not leaving Barry alone. Ricky's slimy ex was almost as bad. Fortunately Barry and Ricky found each other. Even amidst the drama of Ash's stalking, the occasional run-in with Spencer and some other small obstacles. Their love for each other shined through.

I love the world this series is set in. Love the sweet elves, the sexy reindeer, and crazy Santa. Even slutty Mrs. Claus makes this series a world of fun! All our favorites from previous books show up to help Barry and Ricky find their happily ever after!

4.5 stars.

First, I love Ricky the elf. Such a cutie. His sweet and shy self wanted to have sex with Barry so he jumped at the chance when it was offered, even if it meant never seeing the reindeer again. My kind of elf!

I liked Barry okay but what really surprised me is how much I liked his brother. I hated Blake Simpson. I know the author made him good in Blake the Rogue Reindeer. But to see his protective big brother self in this one was really nice.

The parents - Ms. Simpson is a hoot. A busy-body, nosy, overbearing hoot. She's a fucking blast. Her husband is patient and kind. I loved Ricky's dad. The jury's still out on his mom. She was a bitchy bitch.

Bad exes galore in this installment. A little violence. Past domestic abuse. A crazy elf who only cares about kicking reindeer butt and grinding against his reindeer. God, I love Willy and his willy.

4.5 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons ---

I wanted more of Willy and his craziness.

It took me a few minutes to get the feel for Ricky and Barry as a couple. When I did I loved them but they seemed a little mismatched early on.

Because I'm a perverted bitch, I always want more sex scenes.

And dear author - I want a Randy and Willy sex scene. It's been too long since their story and I want to see Willy's 9 inch bad boy again. You get us all worked up with the elf grinding. I want to see what happens after the reindeer throws him over his shoulder. ;)

I love these books. This one was more serious than the others but it was still a fun read.

I'm having fun with this series. I've pre-ordered the next one.

Fun fun fun

Ok I jumped from book one in the series to book 4 but I don’t feel like I missed a beat although now I’m chomping at the bit to read books 2, 3 and 5. This book is about Barry, a reindeer who’s a bookkeeper, lol and Ricky, one of Santa’s elves. They both came out of abusive romantic relationships so we had the angst (is it really love or just plain old lust?) of their new romance and the drama of their exes trying to come between them. But the star of this book in my opinion is Willy, the horn dog, eyebrow waggling elf from the first book. He had me ROFLMAO! He showed up everywhere. I’m thinking he’ll be a regular in all the books. It’s because of his presence that I’m rating this book 5* and if the other 3 books have him lurking about this will defo be a 5* series.

So great the see Blake's continuing transformation in this one and the love he has for his family and friends. I loved seeing him trying to make up for lost time with Barry and trying to actually be his brother and be there for him during stressful times. Can't wait to see more of his transformation in the next book! And how could you not love Barry and Ricky? Men who were traumatized and abused in their previous relationships falling for each other and helping each other heal. Love this series, and I hope we eventually get Santa's story.

Wow I loved Barry's story! My heart broke for him reading about all he went through with Ashton. Ricky has also been in an abusive relationship on top of his already shy personality, so he's scared of his feelings for Barry. I loved their evolvement event though they are fated mates. There was more drama in this one and I loved it. The ending at the Christmas dinner was great too; you can always count of everything coming out at those dinners. Can't wait to see what happens with Dylan now that he's free of the evil Mrs. Clause.

I really enjoyed this one but it was darker than the previous books, dealing with abuse in the past of both Ricky and Barry.
There were plenty of cameos from the gang and another wonderful addition to the series.

Serious in some places, funny
in others (willy!), a nice love
story. Ricky's sweet. Barry's
a good guy. His brother's in it
a lot. I like him more now. Love
the reindeer mom. The elf one's
crazy. I hope there's another book

series.

After Barry thought he had found his mate last Christmas, he quickly realizes that is not the case. Now that his brother, Blake, has found his mate, Barry wishes for the same thing. After meeting Ricky one day, he realizes he's met his mate. Ricky and Barry's journey is not as easy as it was for the previous couples. Barry's ex, Ashton, was abusive when they were together and he continues to abuse him. Ricky's only had one lover and he was emotionally abusive. They both work through their past to prove that they belong together. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of this series!

I enjoyed this revisit to the North Pole and the world of Santa's reindeers and elves. In this story, Barry, brother to Blake (from the last book) I struck with the lightning recognition of his mate, a little elf named Ricky. But nothing is easy for these two. Both have had abusive exes, and Barry's is trying to win him back for some reason. Or is it kidnap him back? The situation deteriorates and he and Ricky get to know each other.

Ricky, meanwhile, is dealing with his own abusive ex, a much older elf who took advantage of him, his best friend's son. There's plenty to unravel here and the young couple finally finds the support of the entire community, including Santa, as they make their way to their HEA.

Man did I dislike Barry's ex! Ricky's, too, for that matter. This was definitely an insta-love story, but they took a little time to think about it which was nice. Barry was a sweetheart, and Ricky was so great for him. I loved seeing Blake still doing well after all of his struggles, and to see his and Barry's relationship strengthen. Great addition to the series.

Barry wants a relationship like his brother and parents, but the last time he tried to find one, the guy ended up being abusive. Flash forward a year, and Barry meets, Ricky, a shy elf. Hands touch and instant sparks fly. Unfortunately, they have to battle the exes and protective family members.

This series is slooooowly growing on me. It just seems like there is a lot of repetition and sex. While lots of sex by itself doesn’t bother me, when there isn’t really a story, it just gets boring. This time, though, both Ricky and Barry seem to be fully formed characters who were not created just so they could bone constantly.

Barry has been leading a simple life since he got away from his abusive ex, and he has finally started to get over his fears from the previous year. When Barry meets Ricky, a shy elf, he feels a connection he has never had with anyone else. Barry and Ricky's parents are continually meddling, and Barry's brother Blake. The two want to try and put their past behind them and start a life together, but abusive ex-boyfriends keep getting in the way.

I liked Barry and Ricky, they both were sweet characters trying to put their pasts behind them, and their parents didn't want to let go of trying to protect them from being hurt. I loved seeing all the previous characters.
