Lovely book

For this being Christina's first book, you wouldn't know it. She writes from her heart and is fantastic at the stories she tells.

Amelia and Bailey remind me so much of my best friend. Bailey is the type of friend everyone should have at least one of, she knows exactly what to say to make you feel better but also knows when to put you in your place. Her story has me heartbroken for her, but at the end of it all I was so happy for her. As far as Amelia goes, I'm so happy that she got her closure with Ryan and is getting her second Chance with Zach.

Linda, Bailey's mom is such a strong woman going through what she did and coming out from it as she did.

Such a great story, can't wait to read the others❤

It's the story of a woman, Amelia, who is moving away from home to try to start over after a disastrous relationship. She must leave her pain behind and open herself to new relationships. It's about her starting to find herself and a new life. She finds new friends, a new job and possibly a new love. Was leaving home the best thing for her or will she end up returning home to the familiar?
This is the first book written by Christina Butrum. Having read her later works first, this is definitely not as good as those, but whose first book would be? It was still an enjoyable story and it's fun to see her growth as an author.

Oh my!!! I loved his book. Amelia is overcoming a bad break up when she decides to move to Fairshore. She meets her neighbor Bailey and they quickly become friends. They overcome obstacles together. Amelia meets Zach and falls head over heels for him. Things happen that try to come between them but they don't let it.

Loved this book

this is a 3.5 out of 5 stars
This is a sweet story about a young woman and second chances at love an life . Let me introduce you to Amelia and Zach . They are trying to start anew and put the past behind them . When we meet them Amelia has moved out of her parents house into her own place 90 miles away . She meets Zach at his furniture store. There are sparks and they start dating . But will their past come back and haunt them or will they be able to have their happily ever after .
The characters in this story were ok . I think the author could of flushed them out a little bit more . Amelia was in my opinion a little naïve . Yes I know she is only twenty but with what happened to her I thought she would be a little bit more jaded then she was . Her friend Bailey is the same way , they become instant friends and besties . Bailey is sugary sweet and they are like two peas in a pod . Zack is well he is a hard read . Amelia and Zach take it slow and build a good foundation . He was the perfect gentleman all the time .
The story is sweet and the only thing that bothered me was everyone got along with everyone . I wish there was a little bit more drama, not just the minor disagreements that went on . Also that the author would of made the characters a little bit more complex . Over all I did enjoy this book as a great evening read on the deck . This is a book about healing from the past and letting yourself fall in love again Also about forgiving yourself and growing from your past . You will get sucked in and you will want to figure everything out . This would be a good summer read for pool side .

Is there anything worse than losing in a relationship, starting over many miles away from your friends and family? Amelia is about to find out this answer as she leaves the only home she knows and the only friends she has along with the man she thought she knew and loved. A very sweet and touching read with true emotions that grabs you. It is heart breaking but at the same time a story of passion of one that has lost so much and breaking out to find what it is like to be truly on your own. It is a little slow at the start but does pick up and is a great read. From what I understand this is the first book this author wrote, and she did a really good job. I haven’t read anything by her before but I do look forward to reading more of her work.

I like the characters Amelia and Bailey friendship starts out strong and fast. Amelia and Zack romance is lovely even as they work to overcome things that get in their way you can tell they love each other. The characters are likable, the plot is good, the writing not bad at all. There are a little repeating of wording and a little more filler than I like but all in all it was a good read that I did enjoy.

I went into this book thinking it was going to be about something else based on the blurb. It was more of a book about second chances in life after a hardship and not for just the main male and female characters. The blurb talks about Amelia and her 5 year relationship with Ryan but that was more of the backstory and defining event. The second chance is not with Ryan. I feel like I would have enjoyed the story more if the blurb reflected the story a bit better. At times, the story was a bit choppy but the grammar was correct, it just didn't flow as well as it could have. I found myself wondering if this was one of the author's first books. Overall, everything was correct and it was a good story. I think the author was setting the scene for more in this series. I would have liked more from Amelia and Zack. The relationship was more of a secondary story. This story is more about personal growth and overcoming the past and moving on. Which is also a great story, just not what I was expecting.

Second Chances by Christina Butrum is a great effort for a first book. The story of Amelia, her best friend Bailey and new love Zack really is very good for a first effort. Character development was great. I felt like I really knew Bailey and Amelia and their friendship seemed genuine even though it developed very quickly. Zack was a great ego booster for Amelia after her first relationship ended in after 5 years to a cheating boyfriend. Moving away from home for the first time to a different city is very stressful and I was definitely rooting for Amelia. The book started a little slow for me but definitely picked up. There were some grammatical errors, run on sentences but this author has the ability to move forward and correct this in her next book. I will definitely read more by Christina Butrum.

Sweet Second Chance

I really loved this story, a sweet second chance is my favorite reads. Small town romances where everyone knows everyone is another favorite. Makes you wish you lived in a small town, a community helping each other.

When we meet Amelia she's moving out on her own and moving on from a breakup. When she gets there she meets a neighbor Bailey and they become fast friends. And Zack who owns a small business. You get to see and feel Amelia and Zack falling for each other. There are some bumps in the road, twists thrown in the story. When you hear Amelia's heartbreaking story you understand why she's careful with her heart.

I love the way this author tells a story unfortunately this one isn't her best but there is a great storyline. Since it is one of her earlier works I wanted to see where she has come from so I can see the difference in her later/more recent books. In this book she hasn't yet become as comfortable with her style of writing and it shows. What could be an amazing read comes off as average but don't let it stop you from reading her newer stuff. I enjoyed the read but it lacked the focus and fluid easy flow movement of her current books.

Great book about second chances. Amelia has had some difficult times. She lives with her mom & dad. She's 26 & decided to finally move on from her past. When she moves to a new town, she immediately meets Bailey & they become fast friends. Through Bailey's help she gets furniture & meets Zach.
There's a spark there.
With the help of her new friends & family she starts on her new life. There are some obstacles for her along the way.

I loved Amelia and Zach’s story. Theirs is a very sweet one. It’s about letting go of the past and starting over. It’s about healing, learning to love and put your faith and trust in someone else again. This is only the beginning for Amelia and Zach. They have laid the foundation for a strong relationship that will hopefully be able to overcome the obstacles that are ahead.
I can’t wait to read Unexpected Chances and find out where their journey together will lead them.

Wasn't impressed with this book ….The storyline was cute but, I just was not into the actions of the characters ...Maybe I read to many mystery/suspense books but, I felt like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop with the actions of the characters. I will give Christina another try with the next book in series maybe I will like it better... Anyways I will know after another book if Christina's writing is for me.

Second Chances

This story is about a woman who spent five years with a man only to find out that he was cheating on her for over a year. When she told him she was pregnant he stated he would be there for her. But when he lied again she left. Moved away and starts a new life. I question the title choice. They don't get back together. She moves on. She meets someone else who seems to be there for her. There are two more books in this series.

Second Chances

I had a hard time getting into this story. The story itself was good but the way it was written just made it really difficult for me to get into. I enjoy stories about second chances but the dialogue just didn’t feel natural and I don’t know it just didn’t click for me.

Not a bad story, though for me it seemed choppy and the characters needed more "fleshing out.". To me, it also felt as if the book ended right as things were really drawing you in, so many unresolved issues that I'm hoping there will be a second book to wrap everything up!! Sweet read, funny characters (Is love to have Bailey as my BFF!!). Enjoyable.

Love, Chances, Life

Great story about love and life and second chances. This story is so true to life. One minute you're laughing, then life smacks you and you're crying. Christina Butrum writes such sweet, true to life stories. I've loved every one of her books that I've read so far. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of her books that I've bought, but haven't read yet.

This book started off a bit slow and was hard for me to get into it but the story captured me as I progressed. For the authors first book it was really good.
This is a lovely story about friendship and the kind of friendships that will weather any storm. A fun story on moving to a new town, making new friends and taking second chances with love.

Great short read!

I chose this because I saw her at a vendor show & became interested. It's a very quick & easy read. I'll keep going with the series to see how the characters progress.

This was a sweet story about taking chances and having a second chance at love. While it took me a little to get into at the beginning, I’m really glad I gave this a chance. Amelia & Zach are a cute couple. I’m excited to read book 2.

Amelia, Christina, Zack and Ryan all learn to accept what Fate has delivered to them and live with their choices. This is a good story about growing up, taking responsibility and living with consequences.

I loved this book. I wanted to go live in the same neighborhood as Bailey and Amelia! This book is about second chances and making sure to take those second chances even though you've been hurt tremendously in the past. It's not always going to be the case. Take a chance!

So much happening in this story.

A lot of characters second chances! So much happening in this novella. Very relatable for a younger me. All except how she saved enough tips to buy a house. I have never been that great at saving while life happened.
