I won a copy of this book from Goodreads Giveaways.
I found this book to be clear and easy to read, but not particularly enlightening. There are exercises Graham calls "activations" in here that could be helpful exercises for goal setting and commitment, but the majority of the book is really just feel-good basics. Not a bad thing, but not insightful either.
I found the beginning of the book to be very basic insight, but the workbook exercises toward the end were very helpful. The book would’ve been better formatted as such. Overall, a nice read that is geared towards workplace leadership development.
Inspiring. I really recommend it if you’re struggling with what path to take in life. I also recommend it for people who are bad with time management, procrastinate or lazy; it’s bound to have an impact on you
The first few chapters were difficult to get through but I believe that the "Activations" worksheets at the back are the true value of the book. The 9 Steps make perfect sense and I can't wait to fill in the worksheets and create my vision and mission statement.
A really great book diving into leadership and the qualities needed to become a leader! The questions in the book were helpful and sparked a lot of thought about myself and where I am going!
I listened to this and honestly found it insufferable. The authors voice and style of reading was annoying, not to mention the content of the book. I don’t have any major takeaways from the book despite it being over 7 hours long! It was a steady stream of lists on things you should do to be an identity leader, but no discussion on any of the items listed. I have no memory of what I read as the lists were too numerous to take anything away from them. 10/10 do NOT recommend.
It’s only 3 simple steps to identity leadership. Sounds simple enough and as the Chinese proverb goes a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, for identity leadership it’s a long journey which is why we need 3 steps!
Apart from the 3 steps which is the ongoing mantra there are multiple other how to guidelines to help drive and guide you on your journey. Infused with stories and anecdotal real life experiences this book is a great companion at both the start and during your identity leadership journey
Don’t hesitate just get it and read it
Huge thanks to my wife who brought the book to my attention and recommended I read it. She’s reading it to so it’s a double companionship of a journey.
