Winner of an NAACP Image Award for Best Literary Work and a two-time Image Award nominee, author Jeff Burlingame has written more than thirty books and is the recipient of a prestigious Sigma Delta Chi award from the Society of Professional Journalists.

He has presented at the Washington state capitol and has been featured on A&E, MTV, and elsewhere. He and his family reside in the Pacific Northwest.

I bought this book for my first official, week-long trip to the penisula. I wasn't sure if I needed a guide like this with the abundance of travel tips and guides online, but I'm glad I bought it. The author provides a lot of fun insights as a person who grew up on the penisula. He adds in great recs (updated through the pandemic) and fun stories of the areas. I ended up reading this from cover to cover as we explored the port towns, the northern penisula, Hoh Rainforest, and the western coast. I do get the impression he does not enjoy the Twilight-fication of Forks.

This was a great travel companion. Highly recommend!
