This is a good overview of bourbon for any bourbon enthusiast. It features a short history of the spirit, followed by a (not comprehensive but relatively extensive) list of various bourbons including proof, what they smell and taste like and who they are made by, and finally a list of 20 of the most popular bourbon cocktails. The book could use some updating but I enjoyed reading the history and now will use it as a reference item if I'm looking for a new bourbon as well as a recipe book if I'm in the mood for a bourbon cocktail.

3.5/5…I mean it’s fine, but in a world that has Fred Minnick’s Bourbon Curious, I would go in that direction.

very good explanations of the process!

Explanation of the whiskey making process and history is excellent. However, in trying to also be a guide to the breadth and variety of all available bourbons, the author runs into the problem of information becoming outdated almost as soon as it is published. Still an excellent effort, and a good read!

Lives up to its title

If you not only want to learn the history but also the distilling process of bourbon and follow that up with a huge selection of tasting notes on literally dozens of bourbons then the Bourbon Bible is for you. Enjoy and cheers!

It's a great intro to bourbon and it's many variations. I was disappointed in the bourbons reviewed. There seemed to be a lot from the same distilleries and I was hoping for the more uncommon offerings.

It's a little dated today in terms of the individual bourbon details, but the history, explanation, cocktails, and keywords are as true as ever. A great little read for any person who enjoys the spirit. Would be interested to see if it ever gets an updated release.

A brief history of bourbon, a brief rundown of how to know a bottle, and the majority of the book is dedicated to reviews of different spirits.
