They wanted a chance; they were given a choice: follow the scripted path at Gaia Sur, or face the unknown to find their families. In AQUA and TERRA, Jazz and her friends took the risk, then battled the seven biomes of the “Rush.” Now, from high above the earth in Admin City, it’s clear their fight has only just begun. Told from two perspectives, the third book in The Elements series sends part of the crew to a topside world that isn't the way they left it and the rest into the virtuo-cine network, where truth is blurred, and time is running out.
Greeted by their new contacts from The Seam upon arrival, it’s only hours before the Empaths discover they've triggered the release of an encrypted message designed to right the wrongs of Gaia Sur and their corrupt affiliates. But when a problem in the virtuo-cine code threatens to send the message careening off track, Jazwyn and her group must navigate a fictional world to bring everyone the truth. And this time, the world is watching.
Meanwhile, locked out of the only viable transport hub still miles below the ocean floor, Liddick and his team are forced to negotiate not only the fast sands--home to enormous, flesh-eating antlions--but also the treacherous tunnel shark system in order to reach Azeris’s hub in The Badlands. Only then can they reestablish contact with the others in Admin City and join The Seam’s fight against Gaia's genetic manipulation project.
Everyone has a breaking point, however, and after an impossible turn of events puts Liddick on a collision course with his friends and their mission, the logical answer is that reality is relative, and who we are is not always whom we appear to be.

Overall, I enjoyed this book - the world keeps on getting more and more interesting and the tech is still fascinating and accessible for understanding and it feels futuristically believable.
Without giving away any major happenings, I had two main pieces that weren't a great fit for me. The first was the amount of cines - for some reason they didn't resonate with me until the final one. I think having three cines lead up to the big one over many chapters felt too drawn out. And I'm not sure why because the mind games from the 7 biomes was interesting. I know the western-based cine wasn't a great one for my introduction (no spoilers), but I don't like when authors bring us to another time and use language from that time that's really derogatory...I know that it "fit" the time and is exactly what is said in some old westerns, but I'd rather an author pick something different.
Now, this wasn't the case the whole way through, but I was waiting and waiting to see some tender moments earlier in this book and we didn't get much until towards the end, and those were pretty minimal. Both Liddick and Jazz are in ridiculously intense situations and they're barely sleeping, but TK did such a great job having Jazz in particular find little moments of love and calm. Since everything was so much more emotionally demanding and damaging in this book than the first two, it would have helped me really stay with both Jazz and Liddick - poor guy.
With all of that said, I'm still really enjoying the world in this and, as with the other two books, I like how the characters are all growing and changing in ways that make sense for their personalities. We're seeing more focused strength and clearer communication for those struggling with that.
Also, Vox and her mild obsession with riding a dragon was perfect.
Definitely excited to dive into book 4!!
I received a copy of this title from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with that adds so much to the story. Such a great read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Aer is the third book in The Elements series. Of the three that I have read, I really didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. The group was fractured in the last book and was kept separate for pretty much all of this one. Apparently, the group dynamic was a bigger part of my enjoyment than I had thought. It just felt like everyone was running around for the sake of running around but not in an interesting way. Also, the ending is one giant cliffhanger which I guess makes sense as it is prepping for the conclusion in Ignis, but I still hate cliffhangers. And I finally understand why so many reviews I have read for this book have said a variation of, "Poor Liddick," because the teen goes through it. I am pretty sure I will end up reading the fourth book here soon as I want to know how it ends.
Where Terra was slower paced this book really kicks it up a notch. I couldn't put it down. I felt so sorry for Liddick, but he's resourceful so I'm hoping he gets revenge on the ones who betrayed him. I must say I really disliked Dez in this one, she got on my last nerve. The world that is created in this book, like the others is just mind boggling. We're introduced to a few more characters in this one but not as many as in Terra so it's a little easier to keep up. I'm hoping we meet back up with some old characters in book 4. Can't wait!
Best one I've read so far! The ending had me nearly throw the book across the room. Won't be able to read another dystopian until I get the next one in the series.
Book three in the series. MUST read books one and two in order to understand what’s going on. Tracy Korn continues with her brilliance in this book.
Firstly, they group has been separated. So tragic. Jack Ripley, Azeris, Zoe, Dell, Cal, Dez, and Tieg are still in Phase Two. Jazz, Jax, Vox, Arco, Fraya, Myra, Lyden, Liam, Arwyn, Ellis, Avis are all on Phase Three or Admin City. Jazz continues to grow as a person and finds herself throughout the book. Myra also finds herself and doesn’t depend on a big strong man like she used too. The rest of the group grow as well but not as big of a growth as those two. They continue to face set back after setback. Liddick starts to lose it. We also meet some new character. A few who don’t seem to be completely human. Will the two groups find their way back to each other. Who are Tieg and Dez really? Can they trust these new people?
This book deals more with the whole virtuo-cine and what it’s about. Which is really fascinating. But the virtuo-con brings with it a lot more problems that they aren’t sure of since most of the group doesn’t have much experience with them. As well as coming face to face with the leader of the rebellion. Who may you ask is the leader? Read to find out! I was so shocked. There are so many twists and turns in this book that I was literally left shocked! The ending of this book literally left me questioning everything I thought I knew. It completely blindsided me!
Again, I would love to give this book way more than 5 stars because it’s just that good! I promise you won’t regret reading this series. The whole time I am reading I can literally picture myself inside right next to them. It’s so good I can see it being a television show.
