Some are rescue cats, some are pampered cats, some are cheeky, and some of them think they are humans. All of them are adorable. The New Zealand Cat is a treasure for anyone who likes a good cat story.
I found this book on the last day of my trip to New Zealand while wandering around the Auckland Airport. The cover caught my eye mainly because I love cats, and this guy really stood out. I'm glad I made the decision to buy it. The stories about all the different cats in the book were all a pleasure to read. Some were sad but many were happy and they really touched on how different cats can be, but also how similar, even on other sides of the worlds.
The photos in this book were also all very beautiful.
Don't get 'put off' by the scary toothy guy on the front, Rachael again has taken a number of fantastic photos of cats around NZ and given a little of their 'life' story to go along with it. A book for both the cat lover and Kiwi at that. Probably one too many people with 'grump' cats (what a wacky craze) but on the whole, with a couple of rather strange names, a lovely book, with some nice kiwi scenery to add a little flavour to the cats :)
