Who's Gonna Love You Better #1

Ain't Nobody Gonna Love Me Better

Rate this book
In today’s society, people look for validation from others. They have forgotten that loving, and being happy with yourself, is the most important form of validation.
Nykia Wilson is a thirty-year-old registered nurse. By society’s standards, she wouldn’t be accepted. She doesn’t have a coke bottle figure, she doesn’t rock bundles, or wear her hair natural. She doesn’t get her nails done, and she doesn’t care about the latest fashions. No one has ever called her gorgeous, or beautiful. Most would say there’s nothing special about her. But, she’s very special, she’s unique. She doesn’t look for acceptance from society. She has learned to love herself, flaws and all. Now, she just wants someone who could love her better.
Rontreius Griffin is a self-made man. He owns a very successful lawncare business. He was injured in the worst way. Disfigured by a stab wound to the face, when he tried to protect his sister from her abusive husband. His scar runs from his hairline, through his eye, through his cheek, through his lips, and ends at his chin. Most people say that the scar gives him a rugged look. Most women who appoarch him, thinks he’s a thug, and thinks that’s his battle scar. When they find out he’s just a regular hardworking man, they lose interest. Then there’s the women who thinks he’s hideous, and they are too good to speak to him. He wanted to give up on dating, he didn’t know if he would ever find a woman who would love him for who he is. That’s until he meets a woman who stands out from every woman he has ever encountered.
Can a man with a physical flaw, and a woman who doesn’t fit society’s “norm,” be together, beat the odds, and prove,

To know me is to love me. My identity begins with my name but makes a statement with my pen. I'm a mother of two and a wife of one. My love for writing began at the age of two. That's right I first wrote my name at the age of two and I've been writing ever since. Growing up I always felt invisible. I suffered from that 'Middle Child Syndrome', so when my voice wasn't heard, I made my own story.
My journal and my pen became my companion. I would write stories where my characters looked like me (thick, tall, and pretty), they loved to read, was educated, and realistic. The older I got the more my imagination grew, which caused my stories to be more diverse.
Becoming an author came about in an unintentional way. I've been through many things in my adult life. My husband, who's my backbone, has always admired my strength. We suffered a devastating loss, our daughter. My husband urged me to tell my story, to be a light for someone else. I took him up on his advice and wrote my pains and truths.
I love weaving stories, touching readers with relatable characters and situations. I give life lessons, unconditional love, dedication, a little crazy, and a whole lot of truth. I have a saying that I live by; 'I don't just write books;I tell stories'.

Quan for president

I loved the book. I wish it wasn't, "to be continued", because normally by time the next book is out I forget about the book and don't read the next book. Anyway I loved the book and I loved Quan the most.

Really- this is an Ebonics dictionary

i'm all for a book with gutta talk and Ebonics but not in every sentence. You have two college education women, who can't completed a full sentence using proper verbs and nouns. I'm struggling to continue reading this damn book. Hopefully, I will up this book review.

So amazingly good!!

Okay, so before I get into my review. I just want to say the ending took me out because of what Tee said, “The f*** New Edition doing robbing folks” 😂😂😂 that took me out.
Now on to my review! Part one of this book was straight fire!! I love me some Ron and Kia! They were everything 😂 Quan had me dying all the time. His lil behind know he was funny, but he loved his auntie so much, and only wanted her happy! He liked Ron so that was a plus! Ron was definitely a good man.
As for Ra-Ra💀 sis needs help. Letting a man beat on her, but thinking its everybody else fault but the man who is beating her. Where they do that at?!
As for Asia, lord, we just going to pray for her, because sis, need help too. So busy stealing from everybody, she couldn’t even be a mother to her own child. She needs to be better.
Ron’s family is so messed up for how they treated him. He didn’t deserve that at all. He’s better off without them.
&&& Tee! She was all kinds of delusional. She stayed worrying about Kia and Kia weight, meanwhile Kia has a whole man by her her side who loved her for HER. Meanwhile Tee so busy worrying about being the perfect size, she was letting a good man slipped through her fingertips . She’s a dummy. I couldn’t stand her. She was the only one worrying about Kia’s weight when she needed to worry herself. Everything from her was about Kia losing weight. Girl, stfu and worry about yourself for a change.
Amp was a great friend to Ron. I liked him too. Him and his new boo!
Overall this book was the bomb!!!! Kendra has a way with words, and I love it. I can’t wait to dive into book 2!

All that and more!

I gave this book 5 stars for one I'm from Cola. SC and I knew all the places on the tour the author took the reader. I enjoyed a story about fictional characters from my home town

And Quan, that little boy kept me laughing.

Last but not least the author's character development was so realistic to at times I wonder if the author was writing from personal experience. I loved how the author captured the most intimate feelings and soul of full figured women and essence of people who don't meet the standards of what society deems acceptable. I haven't read many stories where the heroin is a big, beautiful, bodacious, confident, professional career woman with a heart of gold. And the knight in shiny armour disfigured, how the author captures his character you see the hero's inter beauty, you see in your minds eye how fine Ron is (all I can say is lord have mercy... lol!)

SPOILER ALERT!!!!! the sex scene in the trunk on their way back to Hopkins all I can do is smh lol!

I will definitely be reading book 2

The story line was great!!! I didn't give a four star review because of the broken language. It made it hard for the story to flow. It also made it seem as if no one had any education. I'm from Sumter S.C (20 mins away from Hopkins S.C) and our language isn't this broken.

The story line was great!!! However because of the broken language I didn't give the book four stars. The broken language made it hard for the story line to flow. It also made it seem as if all the characters were uneducated. I'm from Sumter S.C (20 Mins away from Hopkins) and our language isn't this broken.

WOW!! I loved this book. The characters had me laughing out loud so hard that I was in tears. Ron and "Sweets" are an awesome couple. Big Momma and Quan are hilarious. "Sweets" deserves all the happiness in the world, and so does Ron. They both have psychotic siblings. Our society judges many of us on our appearance and I can relate to "Sweets". As I often remind myself....Confidence is a very sexy thing. So to anyone being judged by society's standards, keep your head up and shoulders back. Never let the insecurities of others destroy what God has created you to be!! Kendra Sumter keep up the spectacular writing!!

Interesting Read!

This story is about two beauties and a beast. You should know who is definitely the beast and who the two beauties are, even though there are lot more beasts in the story. The storyline is beautiful and heart warming. I'm glad these two came together to show what true, real and unconditional love is all about. Great story of love, support, friendships, strength and you know, as always family or just plain old drama. Waiting and Hoping in the next installment lessons learned, friendships mended, family forgiven, second chances given and happily ever afters made. We shall see. Great Read! ReneeG 👍

Ain't Nobody Going To 💘 Me Better

There were some hilarious folks in this book. From Big Momma, Cray-cray NyKia Wilson, a nurse, to her lil nephew Quan. He talked like an old man in a young person's body. NyKia's 🚹, Rontreius Griffin, a businessman. His useless siblings, Ricky, Randy and Raisha (RaRa) were all about using their baby brother who has a kind ❤. If Ron wasn't giving them cash or a place to live rent free, they weren't interested in His company. But in the end he found the 🚺 made just for him.

As Big Momma would say "M'kay...

Refreshing!

I really enjoyed this book. I believe many should take a lesson from this book, self confidence can take you far. We live in such a superficial society, it's inner beauty that matters. Some of the characters reminded me of the " crabs in a barrel" mentality and Ron's family were just pathetic. It was refreshing that Kia and Ron set boundaries and despite being judged based on outer appearances, their hearts were not hardened too much, and still allowed themselves to love and be loved. I'm so excited to start reading part 2!

RESPECT & SELF LOVE

The meaning of this story right here is EVERYTHING!! The confidence & self love that these characters show definitely hits the spot! Ms. Kendra Sumter you did your thang. I love the story line! But, the hidden story on top of that just made this book even better! There are so many people in general with that self conscious doubt. But, to read how these characters get through it is something else. Just reading this can help someone get through their own real life issues. Your pen game is

Lit!! Must Read

Lordt!!!! Kendra you did you thang with this book. Your pen game is fire. I was hooked from the start.

I love Ron and Kia relationship. Kia showcases that beauty comes in different sizes and Ron is move than his scar. Kia needs some anger management tho, baby gurl is violent but I love that she stands up for loved ones. Tee is so jealous and Ron's family needs to be dealt with. I can't wait til part 2.

Better Love

It was like at first sight for Nykia and Ron. As they begin to get to know each other better they relationship blossoms flaws and all. Ron loved Kia's style; confidence and a tad bit of cray cray as a BBW and she wasn't bothered by his scar she needed a man who could love her better.

This this book deals with jealousy, self esteem, self love and lots of laughs! I'm excited to read part 2

Pleasantly surprised

This book shocked me. It was not what I expected and not what I am use to reading. I found this book by accident, read the reciews, and said, "why not". When I first started reading it, I was tempted to put it down but I continued to read and literally started laughing out loud. I'm glad I finished this book. I'm about purchase the 2nd in the sereis. I hope book 2 is better than the first. If it is, I might continue to check this author out.

Damn his own family!!!!!!

I can’t believe that Ra Ra, Ricky and Ronald will do that to their own brother. Marcus I’m not surprised he’s just hateful. Tee she’s really jealous of the only person who ever loved her for her. Kia and Ron can’t seem to catch a break it’s crazy when your own family is plotting against you, but I know one thing Amp always has his brother from another mother’s back..

Loving me through my scars

Looks and size doesn't define a person for who they are especially when it comes to matters of the heart. Ron and Nykia are a match made in heaven. It was love at first sight for these two. Nykia didn't see Ron for his scare she seemed I'm for the genuine man that he was. This is a first read for me by this author but it definitely will not be my last. I enjoyed this book so much! It's absolutely a great read.

Loving you

I just loved this story. Something all women need to do is love us. This is a story that brings the phrase you can't love anyone until you learn to love yourself. It was a breath if fresh air reading about real people. And of course reading from a place where I am from. Great great read!!!

Good book

I really enjoyed this book. Every big girl with low self esteem should read this book. Kia is my girl and we have the same attitude. I love her and Ron together. Quan and that comic relief is a mess but he's a sweetie. Tee needs to get a grip she doesn't have any common sense at all. She lost all that weight and she still lonely. I can't wait for part two.

Very Good Book

Omg when is part 2 coming out. This book had me laughing crying and mad. I could definitely relate to the female character. The grammar in the book kinda threw me off, but other than that it's a excellent read about loving yourself and others, excepting people for who they are and realizing family doesn't always have your best interest at heart.

KenyataS thoughts

This book was throughly enjoyable. I love the self empowerment but I don't see the need to reemphasize weight when Tee is suffering and you see the contrast. Any who I'm so ready for part two I knew the family was not gone be happy about Bug Ron living life but I'm pleased he got to ask Kia to marry him. Come on part two

Love it

Book was good from beginning to end. I love how confident Kia is and don't care what others think about her. She even gives Ron a boost of confidence when he needs it. An don't get me started on the stories Quan be telling he know his auntie don't play and don't mind letting everyone know.

Beauty and the beast

This was a good read I can’t even lie but the language had me struggling a bit with words like rhet, fa, Simmabish. It was just too much but none the less an expectional Read. I’m really happy for Kia and Ron. She saw him for who he is and looked beyond his scar. Omg Quan was so darn hilarious. On to book 2
