Rate this book
A people enslaved. A quest undaunted. A war that could end them all…

Kaieli is a prisoner. Captured by an alien species and forced into hard labor, the Posair healer works to keep her fellow captives alive. As the aliens find new and brutal ways to butcher her people, Kaieli seeks a way to bring down their captors from the inside…

Rizelya and Blazel are fighting a war on two fronts. Bolstered by an alliance with the ancient Phengriffs, they’ll need to defeat monsters and invaders alike if the Posairs stand a chance of surviving. Can they rid themselves of the alien menace or will their race be destroyed once and for all?

Could Not Put This Down!

I could barely put this book down long enough to eat and sleep. The story pulls you in and keeps you very interested.

This is the best book of the Malvers War series yet (Book 4 is not done). While The Scourge Incursion can be read by itself, reading Book 1 (Ancient Enemies) and Book 2 (Ancient Allies) first is better by providing a much richer background of the main characters and the war.

In a book series with "War" in the title, major battles are to be expected. Books 1 and Book 2 provide us with skirmishes in the ongoing war against the Malver monsters. Book 2 ends with the Scourge invasion which leads to the all-out war effort in this book. The choice is made to fight the Scourge first and then deal with the Malvers.

The Scourge Incursion has the Posairs and their allies, the Phengriffs, facing an invasion force (the Scourge) with overwhelming numbers and technology. The Scourge are the antithesis of the Posairs. They are ruthless and place no value on the life of the worlds they invade or their own soldiers. The Posairs, led mostly by Rizelya and Blazel on the outside and Kaieli as a prisoner of the Scourge, must find a way to overcome the strategic and tactical edge of the Scourge. Can the loving, caring, and cooperative nature of the Posairs give them the edge to win the war?

While the war with the Scourge is a major focus of the book, Tora moon still has plenty of time to further develop the characters and to ensure that they experience a range of emotions including love and loss.

The book presents an interesting look at the values that make us human.

The war is full on in this 3rd book and the Lairheim posairs are all gathered under their supreme alpha's and all set to fight the invaders with all they have. However, the invaders have weapons and spacecraft of a very advanced technology which they keep pitching against the posairs magic, strength and courage. The invaders rule through cruelty and terror and they live by eating those they kill and by devouring their emotions. The women try joining their talents to defeat and fight the invaders even including their allies, the Phengriffs talents to their own packs but will their perseverance be enough to defeat such evil? The Godessess's main tenet is balance, she does not rule alone but with her consort. It is only once this truth is discovered that the posairs are able to neutralise the evil surrounding them both through the invaders, the nucla crater and the malvers monsters. This was such an exciting read, the posairs are courageous, full of love for one another, loyalty and so ready to defend those most vulnerable that one just has to respect the way they all work towards a common good. 'Need is the mother of invention' and in this book the posairs really prove this to be true as they fight with all means possible to free their land of the evil invading it and threatening them all with extinction. Can they win this war? The only thing I had a problem with was that suddenly the only bond providing the necessary balance was the male, female bond thus turning the heart sister bond into just a passing fancy and this was so disappointing to me!

"Awesome"

Author, Tora Moon has done it again! This is the third book of the Malvers War series and is even better than the last book. Rizelya, Blazel and friends continue to develop and grow as the story continues. They are besieged by enemies on two fronts. One is very ancient the other is new and brutal. Both are evil. I enjoyed this book more because we learn more about each character. They deal with friendship, love, loss and perseverance. Epic battles, some lost, some won. Terrible monsters. Wonderful new allies! This book has it all. I highly recommend this book and anxiously await the next one!

The third book in the malvers series did not disappoint! I love how the people enslaved from different worlds came together with the Posairs to fight their enemies. The detail descriptions of the other species let me picture them in my mind. I looke forward to reading more by this author. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Fantasy at its best.

I hated that Rolstrum died. I was going that the big they were leaving Kaieli would be that she was carrying Rolstrums baby! However she will have her memories. Good reading and looking forward to more.
