This is definitely one of those sequels that you have to read the first book before you even read one paragraph. So, if you enjoy International Intrigue and aren't averse to violence or adult language and situations then first read "Whatever It Takes" and then this one.
Tom Wilder has training as a British SAS soldier but when someone he cares about is taken, things look touch and go for a while.
I enjoyed the story and the interaction between Tom, his family, and his friends. There was some repetitiveness that was a bit annoying but that did not stop from completing the book.

This second book in the Tom Wilder series by Jack Brandon is definitely a fast paced action thriller reminding me of the old James Bond ideas. The characters and intense interactions are immediately recognizable and relatable, as either good, bad, or truly evil, as they struggle against one another. I will definitely be going back and adding book 1 in the series to my TBR for sure to see how Wilder got to be. This is a somewhat late voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Reading Deals.
An enjoyable and gripping book, this was quite a page-turner. The story rather sped along and each new chapter brought fresh action and excitement. I would recommend this book to ajyone
