As a teenager, Audrey Harte went to jail for murder. Now, she uses her own experiences to help catch dangerous killers.
Richard le Duke is the most ruthless serial killer criminal psychologist Audrey Harte has ever encountered. When Richard's son -- and suspected accomplice -- is arrested, police hope they have leverage over Richard to get him to release his latest victim. Instead, they find themselves up against a mind almost as warped as his father's.
Matthew le Duke will give up his father's location on one condition: Audrey tell him every gruesome detail of her own dark past. If he doesn't contact his father within the hour, a young woman will die, and her murderer will escape.
All Audrey has to do is finally reveal what happened that night -- and how it felt to make her first kill.

Not going to lie I’m pretty bummed. I’ve absolutely loved this series of books and this was such a disappointment in comparison. For one it was incredibly short, it took a day to read. Secondly, there was no character revelations or plot contributions to the overall story. We didn’t hear anything about Audrey’s pregnancy, relationship with Jake, or her family. It reach like a novella and a not great one at that. Again, just super bummed.
Wow, what a disappointment. I downloaded this thinking it was similar to the other books but it took less than a day to finish it. It didn’t mention anything about Audrey’s pregnancy or any other intimate details about her life and family that I’ve always enjoyed. Not what I was expecting. Not much of a story....

I have to be honest and say that I am sad to see this series end. I just loved it and hope for more from this author. This is the fifth book in the Audrey Harte series and it was an amazing end. The story follows Audrey as she is called to help when the son of the notorious serial killer shows up and asks to speak to her and only her. A young woman, Gerri, is missing and time is running out to save her. I don't want to go into the story more as to not spoil it because this last book is a novella but I highly recommend it as well as the series. I will definitely miss spending time in this world.
Zero Hour is a short novella, but it’s just as suspenseful and addictive as the full Audrey Harte novels. Even though it’s shorter, it packs plenty of tension, twists, and emotional moments that make it feel like a full story.
I loved getting back into Audrey’s world—she’s smart, determined, and so easy to root for. The mystery and suspense kept me hooked from start to finish, and it was a perfect little addition to the series. Fast, intense, and satisfying—definitely a 5-star follow-up for fans!
Great book. Wish it was longer. But I absolutely LOVE series. Every single one was almost impossible to put down. Starting dead ringer now and can’t wait to see how it compares.
I am a Kate Kessler follower now. This was a novellette. It was perfectly written. The characters were realistic , interesting, smart. The story moves quickly. It's a solid mystery. I like characters who are good and a little flawed. This would be a great movie.
I hated this. I thought it was going to wrap up some things - the wedding , the baby, the sisterhood, the girls’ school…. It was a short story that didn’t need to be written.
Not worth it! Loved the Audrey Harte novels but this one wasn't good. It was too face paced and rushed over. Could of been a great book like the others
