The world’s going to die. Whole nations burn. How? The Fates saw dragons. They just saw the wrong dragons.
In the final, pulse-pounding installment of the Fate – Fire – Shifter – Dragon series, fate abandons the people of the Dragons' Legion — and the world. While death rains from the sky, a fog shrouds Rysa’s ability to future-see a path out of the apocalypse — and to help Daisy as she manifests a terrifying, new Shifter ability.
When an unlikely hero joins the Legion for one last battle, all might not be lost. But they quickly learn that they’re fighting not just in the present, but also in the past and the future, as well. Sacrifices were made. Heroes will be lost. Who will stop the Burning World? I love this series of books by Kris Austen Radcliffe. The way she weaves several characters and their abilities into a coherent whole is just fascinating. I have always been amazed how authors, like Radcliffe or George R R Martin can juggle several characters’ personalities in their creative world building. There is a lot going on in this story and if you haven’t read any of this series, it is best to start with the first book or otherwise you may become quickly lost. Games of Fate is the first book in the Fate ~ Fire ~ Shifter ~ Dragon series. I really like Racliffe’s writing style. It is very poetic and emotional. You can tell that she cares about her characters and has painted them with her palette of words as to flesh them out and make them real. I can almost see these characters as if they are real people born into the world instead born from Kris Austen Radcliffe’s imagination. A story of magic and espionage. A truly lovely fantasy epic adventure. 5 star
The most unlikely hero stands up and gets the job done.
Wow, just wow! A really terrific ending to the series with the most unlikely hero. Billy! Okay so he's a Burner but we've all seen that he has a streak of right and wrong a mile wide in hos makeup. Don't worry the other characters all play their part in this wonderful book but the star is definitely Billy. How does he do it? Well you'll have to read to find out in this wonderfully multilayered plot. The plot is intricate but fast moving and all the characters now come into their own. A real must read. Don't be put off by the cover (I'm sorry to say I was) as it all becomes clear. I received an ARC copy for a honest review.

The Burning World by Kris Austen Radcliffe is Book 7 and also the conclusion of the Fate-Fire-Shifter-Dragon series.
What a great conclusion to this epic NA urban fantasy series. As this is book 7 in this amazing series, it cannot be read a s a standalone and the earlier book a do need to be read first to achieve an adequate reading experience.
Kris once again, has created such a vivid and complex story that you can't help but be engrossed in it. Lots of thrills, action, humour and romance as we meet up again with a lot of our favourite characters from previous books and continue on their journey.
I loved the end of this book. So imaginative and unique. Even though the series of Fate-Fire-Shifter-Dragon is now complete, I believe any subsequent series from Kris may just be in the same world which is exciting.
I look forward to seeing where these tangents go.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
