When rumors about Samantha Hainsley’s house go viral on the internet, her superiors learn that she involved a patient in her last "paranormal investigation."
She loses her job and her nursing license. With no other career prospects, Sammie decides to turn the Overwatch house into a bed and breakfast.
Running a haunted hotel sounds like fun until a body turns up, and everyone starts to suspect that Sammie might have bats in her belfry.
On her own since the opening of her new Inn, Samantha is forced to make new friends and forge fresh alliances to solve the crime and escape the rattling chains of justice.
In a surreal twist of fate, old “friends” appear just in time to ensure that the guests who came to experience The Most Haunted Bed and Breakfast in America get their money's worth.
Demon Night is a ghost mystery/horror with no explicit scenes or gore. It’s rated PG-13 for frightening themes.
Sara Bourgeois is a Midwesterner through and through. She spends her time writing, reading, herding cats, and standing in her driveway during tornado warnings. (You can't see them from the basement.)
Sammy is left at the alter and devastated but at least he finished setting up the bed and breakfast for her. She is booked quite solidly so it looks like it will be a success. Her first bookings is a groups of paranormal investigators so she this will be good for her. Unfortunately a guest is found dead.
This is a haunted paranormal cozy thriller that is good creepy fun. The characters are well crafted will a definite tendencies towards the paranormal. The storyline flowed smoothly and was filled with scary and unexplained events, surprises and chilling suspense. I like cozy mysteries and horror stories and this seems to be a great combination of both. I liked that we learned more about Sammy’s past and what attracted this type of events towards her. The writing is great and if you like scary stories you should like this one.
I need to start by saying that I haven't read the first 2 book in this series. I'm sure there would have been a few things that maybe made more sense, but I really enjoyed the story anyway. I loved that it was scary without all the gore. For me, if a story doesn't need to resort to blood, and can still get my heart racing, it's a win. The writing was wonderful! I really enjoyed the characters, there were plot twists (not sure how much of this is because I haven't read the other books), and I did't want to put it down. I am definitely going to go back and read the first two books, and I'm interested in reading other books by this author.
This story was a bit different than the first two. While still very creepy, there are more characters involved in the story providing more engagement with them and their relationships. Like the first two, this book is too short to provide much opportunity to get to know the characters. This book also includes real life murder. I still don't like the way Sara ends these books. It would be nice to have a definitive ending regardless if it is human or supernatural. I don't think I will be continuing with this series.
I wasn't too surprised about John but was surprised by Cameron. I enjoyed the twists with Elliot and Tabitha. I did think that Sammy moved on kind of quickly though.
'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.'
This series is really revving up! There is plenty of turmoil in Samantha's life that takes her in a whole different direction. Someone from her past shows up along with plenty of paranormal activity. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
