Set on the beautiful Greek island of Paxos. Join Bryony as she determines to uncover the secrets surrounding Villa Cassiopeia, while trying to sort out her relationship and deal with her wayward family's problems.
I've had novels published by Robert Hale and Ulverscroft and have also self-published. I love writing, the relationship between pen and paper and what's going off in my head at that particular moment in time. When I'm not so occupied, I enjoy walking in the Derbyshire countryside (good for writer's block!) or playing my guitar, rather badly, I have to say. I'm also a keen football fan and alternate Saturday afternoons can usually find me cheering on the Rams at Pride Park.
The title of this little book is apt. It really is a nice summer read. It was just the thing for quiet morning hours in a cabin in the woods, and would be equally fine as a beach read. But not everyone gets a break during the summer, so it also works for those simply wishing they could get away to somewhere beautiful and isolated.
But for those longing to escape the frustrating dramas of interpersonal relationships, it's a gentle reminder that as long as you're a person - and a fallible human - and you have relationships that matter with other people, dramas have a way of finding you.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and now I really want to go to Paxos, Greece. You painted such a lovely picture of the landscape, and the liveliness, colour, and kindness of the people. Bryony and her family were fun to follow around, even with all their flaws and faults. One line that seemed to capture this story's essence was 'Nothing is as straightforward as it first appears'.
What a lovely story set in the mystical paradise of a Greek island . the complexities of a modern family, multi generational and emotional unwind in the peaceful surroundings of Paxos. A delight.
