“Each of us is born with a box of matches inside us, but we can't strike them all by ourselves.” LAURA ESQUIVEL

Eli... Man... He is a man who wants to play but never attaches any type of emotion in his play. The author right away makes the reader aware of what changed Eli. It is understandable but dettachment can be volatile. What enjoyment is there? Can anyone way to steer him another way? For his sake, I was hoping so.

Giana comes into the picture and everything she is experiencing I'm experiencing along with her. The sexual chemistry between Eli and Giana was off the charts... Hot... You might have to change your panties once. Maybe even twice.

The flashbacks in this story ate at me... I wanted to reach out and comfort Eli. Even a dominant knows pain. He wasn't cope with what happened in the past. It seems like he kept trying to fill the void but it was a no go. Giana was in a bad situation and didn't really know how to get out. Their past isn't supposed to dictate their future but it is still playing a part in it.

One of my favorite quotes from book stated, "They may see me as weak for needing him, but it’s not weakness , it’s strength that allows me to follow my heart. It’s power that I have that binds me to him. We’re tethered and I’d have it no other way." I loved that even Giana is broken... She knew what she wanted and fought for it . If Eli wanted to play a game, she would play because the ultimate prose is him.

When I started to read Whisper, it was hard to put down the kindle. But the last couple of chapters had me on edge, I stopped and started a little. Not because it wasn't good but because it was so gripping. The sense of foreboding that I had finally came and I was like damn... I thought all the secrets, which Giana and Eli laid to bare, were all out in the open but there was still more.

The title made so much sense through this quote, "When uttered, they’re meant to console. But when they’re whispered, that’s when they mean so much more. I’ve learned that words spat are meant to harm. When uttered, they’re meant to console. But when they’re whispered, that’s when they mean so much more. The emotion so profound it chokes you, and all you can manage is a whisper. Whether it’s passion, lust, agony, pain, or sorrow." The voice of another can be taken in so many ways. It can smooth like a lover or be lethal like a snake. Eli was able to bring desire to his lover but bring destruction on his enemies. It started his voice.

This book is five star material. There is no question. I need to learn about Oliver and Carrick. Carrick is a mystery, which has so many opened questions. Well done for now... Let me just say one final thing. I left reading the last page and said god damn. Then laughed.

I’ve been dying to get my hands on WHISPER, the second book of Dani René’s Sins of Seven series, and, hell, this book had me feeling it all. It’s raw and dark and disturbing as much as it is heartwarming and freeing and healing.

Both Eli and Gia have a very troubled past, each for their own vastly different reasons. I was sobbing and tearing up reading Eli’s flashbacks – and almost retching, feeling the bile in my throat when reading about Gia’s past.

Eli, emotionally totally closed off, protecting himself from further heartbreak, and Gia, beautifully broken and yet so strong without even realizing it: These two are made for one another, and there is one person who realizes that far earlier than they both do, huge age gap be damned.

With lust, pain, violence and revenge this has to be one of Dani’s darkest books, if not the darkest. As usual, her characters are complex and multi-layered, the writing flowing effortlessly, the sex scenes, although dubious and not for the faint of heart, hot as hell and the kind I just cannot get enough of – yeah, I’m kinky like that – which is a good thing, because once Gia and Eli started, they’re going at it whenever they can.

Dark and depraved, carnal and unapologetic, and terrifyingly hot – a tortuous yet insanely erotic story about loss, love and lust. It’s shocking and decadent and has me still wanting more. The next book cannot come soon enough, and I really hope it will be Carrick’s or Oliver’s story we are getting next.

Holy this book was amazing, not if u don't like dark situations tho. Both going thru a troubled past one darker and more violent than the other. They find together they can bare the pain of the past and let it go. Extremely dark and very non talked about issues in this book which was amazingly written

This is book two in the Sins of Seven series. I highly recommend you read Kneel before you read this one.

Whisper is Eli and Gianas story and what a story it is too. The storyline is superb. I felt as if I was Pac Man reading this. I just wanted to gobble it all up.

If you enjoy your books dark and dirty then I highly recommend you read this series. I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author.

the last part of the book was the most interesting bit tbh. specifically at the 90% mark. and even more specifically, the epilogue. anyways, i'm being a sour wuss. the only thing that kept me going through this book was the fact that i'd be reading carrick's story next. AND BOI AM I READY FOR MY BABY CARRICK 💖❤😭

Lust-
It's just a whisper - a small voice in your head -
"It wraps you in its warmth, taunts you with its promises"
It slowly gets louder and louder until you have to find a way to ease the pressure -
It tells you-you are not worthy - you are not deserving
How do you escape it? Do you embrace it? Hide within it's dark but comforting form? Or just get lost in it?

I am nothing at this point but simple reflections of so much pain and loss ...
I am not sure I can make it through all seven sins - this one had me silently crying - the one where you feel the tears as they slowly track your cheeks - feel the small hitch in your chest as you try and catch the sob before it breaks - Rene' ripped my heart from my chest with Giana and Elijah's story -
One Word - RAW

This is book two in the series -I read a complimentary copy- it can be read as a stand-alone but why would you want to?
For some this will be a dark read -for others, it is an emotional journey that you do not want to miss- if you have never delved into the darker side you may want to start with something a tad "grayer" - I have said this before - heed the writer's warnings, please

I do want to add something really quick - I have never listened to the playlists that accompany my books - OMG I did not know what I was missing - I did listen after I read the story - It made the whole thing even more emotional! - Don't judge I am learning as I go - and I cried even harder through the playlist! Okay I did smile during Breakfast at Tiffany's - Just picturing them during that one was sweet as h@ll

An enthralling and shocking must read...

Whisper is the next installment in the Seven Sins series.....a dark, sexually charged second chance romance that has lust at it’s heart...

The characters of this addictive series are so complex and fascinating and Eli and Giana are no exception....Eli is emotionally closed off; he has suffered loss and protects himself against further heartbreak by satisfying his desires without committing his true self... but when Giana enters his world... beautiful, broken, a temptation... full of her own secrets his practiced detachment is put at risk... these two have a concupiscent and intense response to each other and there are some truly steamy encounters... the secondary characters provide additional intrigue and support to the protagonists; Carrick and Oliver offer tantalising glimpses of potential future anti heroes and other sinful stories in future books...

This is a tortuous and erotic story of loss, revenge, love and lust...an enthralling and shocking must read..and now I am left impatiently waiting for the doors of Club Seven Sins to open once again to reveal the next decadent and carnal story..

A dark read, Dani brings us on an adventure with Eli and Giana. When lust, violence and pain fill everyone's past and present, these two are trying to find a way to work through it. There are some subjects that are not often touched on in this book, making it an great read with how fantastically it was done. The ending was a total surprise, making me love the entire book so much more.

5 soul crushing stars!
The story of Eli and Gia takes us on such a whirlwind ride filled with lust, love and tears from beginning to the very end. I was captivated listening to what Eli has been through in his past and the reasons he is the man he is today. As we move further into the story we learn of the heart wrenching experiences Gia has lived though. When these two come together we’re given explosive off the charts sex that will leave you panting and dreaming you were there. The passion and love that has been poured into this story is clearly seen throughout and you feel everything that both Gia and Eli are feeling. A phenomenal read that had me on the edge and on my toes with secrets revealed. A MUST READ without a doubt.

If you love dark and dirty romances mixed with every emotion you can think of, Whisper by Dani Rene is just for you.

Two people each with a past. A past that differs from each but both full of hurt and pain.

Two people with mind-blowing chemistry. The sex is an inferno.

Gia, a broken yet tough woman, has had a horrible life. The flashbacks of her life will have you in sobs, feeling her pain.

Eli is a closed off person, suffering from a grave loss. He, of course, tries to fill his void with sex. The flashbacks of his life will have you in tears.

Gia ran away from the man who caused her so much pain. Eli is grieving. Gia’s past finds her. Can Eli save her? Will they let their pasts’ define them? Can they break the walls they each have up? Will they have the happy ever after they both deserve?

Whisper had me in tears. Major sobbing. The hurt, the pain. Dani has done a remarkable job with Eli and Gia.

5 sobbing stars.

Well written captivating story with nice storyline and plot. Unexpected twists and turns. Characters well described and develops nicely through the story. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. The twists and turns are so unexpected that they made it worth the read. A story that is an emotional rollercoaster. It is of a nice length.
A dark romance that is steaming hot and overwhelming at times. We are way over the stage of hint of darkness in this story. It is filthy but in a good way. It has both the darkness and the heart in it. Very good use of words that makes you almost feel the story.
Absolutely worth a recommendation if you are into reading romances with dark scenes.

Firstly, I freaking loved the dedication!

Ugh, this book completely slayed me. Dani grips you with her words from the first page and you hold on for dear life hoping that you will survive the ending! Do you know what a Whisper means??

I am once again blown away by Dani Rene's writing and the depth of her characters. "A girl with a hungry heart always believes love comes from physical contact." This was the line when I realized why I connected to Giana and it completely shattered me. Everything that she has been through, she may seem weak but I see a strong person who is holding on the only way she knows how. It was a beautiful heartbreak of a life but it is her life and you can't help but root for her. Each time another layer of hers was peeled back just added to the ever forming lump in my throat. Elijah is strong commanding and boy does he exudes sex. The chemistry between Eli and Giana was spectacular and makes you crave more, and their scenes are nothing short of perfection! This book gives us oh, so much more than just a love story between Eli and Giana it shows us what never giving up on love can mean. So I will say it again...Do you know what a Whisper means?

I received an ARC of this novel from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Dani René!

This book is a beautiful, complex layering of past, present, secrets, lies, love, loss, and lust. If I may steal a song lyric from Ruelle here:

When the lights go out all around
Whispers fill the air

This book is not for everyone. The revelations in this one push boundaries, limits; they may even play with your conscience and your morals, but this wouldn't be a Dani René book if they didn't.

Holding still, don't break Inside
Don't say another word
Don't let the darkness find you

More lyrics from Ruelle to help me along with this review, because honestly, sometimes lyrics say it better than me. Those four verses are so in tune (I didn't even plan on that pun happening) with Giana. Her running from her demons, and hiding her skeletons. She attempts to keep her dark past at bay.

Can we recover
Can we get over this
Are we too deep in the night
To see the day

Yup, you guessed right, some more Ruelle. Gia and Eli have a difficult past both individually and together, which makes it difficult too see if they will make it, especially when their pasts come up to haunt them. In true René fashion, she will pull at your heartstrings as she tantalizingly reveals her answer.

I will leave you with one last Ruelle quote, because cohesiveness is important right?

I don't want to lose part of me
Will I recover that broken piece?

This book has a warning for a reason. It definitely touches on childhood abuse and the traumatic affects for our h, Giana. She meets H, Elijah at a time in her life when they each needed a friend. It is this friendship which forms a lifetime bond in which to pull strength and ultimately love, despite years of separation. They each needed those years apart to grow and survive unspeakable trauma. At least when they found each other again they were ready to face their demons together. This book was well written, with a great flow to it. I loved the element of BDSM and how the author explained its dynamics as they pertained to the needs of the characters. The sex scenes were titillating to say the least.

And another deadly sin has me wanting to sin more and more. This is a standalone and will take you on a major emotional roller coaster I would highly recommend reading Kneel first. I was in tears for parts of this book and felt this story straight through to my bones. Dani Rene has a way to write characters that I feel I am one with them and truly living the story with them.

Wow! What a heart gripping story!!! From the very beginning all the way to the end I was sucked in and I couldn't stop reading. I didn't want the story to end! Elijah and Giana are amazing people who both have been hurt to say the least. They are both strong loving and passionate people who want to be loved even if they don't want to admit it.
Gia is a very strong woman who has been hurt abused and put through hell. When she finds Eli will she be able to trust him and put her past behind her?
Eli has loved but was destroyed. He has had his toys since his heart was shattered but nothing more. When he sets his eyes on Gia will he be able to put his past and hurt behind him and love again?
Dani Rene did a wonderful job with these characters. I think I felt every emotion they went through. I felt the butterflies, lust, love, heartache and I even shed some tears. If you like Kneel then you will love Whisper. I didn't think it was possible but the Sins of Seven series just keeps getting better and better. This is one series you don't want to miss. I can't wait to read the next book. I'm hooked!!! 💖🔥😍

Whisper By Dani Rene is book Two in the Sins of Seven Series. This is the story of Eli and Gia.
I have read the previous book "Kneel" and feel that you would enjoy this one more if you do too. But if you want to make this a standalone book you can.
Eli and Gia both have darkness that they are trying to deal with. There are emotions and hurt that we see play out and how they overcame their situation to find each other again.
Another great dark romance from Ms. Rene.

Addicting. Riveting. Dirty and Filthy! The second novel in Dani Rene’s Sins of Seven will Whisper to you long after you have finished!

Incredible is an understatement with Whisper and the mere fact that Dani is proving herself with each book of the Sins of Seven series. This book was amazing, engulfing, mesmerizing. Simply put: I loved it! I was able to finish this book in a matter of a road trip.

“Life doesn’t afford everyone happy times. Some people’s lives are filled with dark and dreary moments.”

Gia has been through the ringer a time or two and her journey has been a hard one. Life has handed her unpleasant circumstances. Gia meets Elijah in her young adult life which sparks light to her darkness, but soon he leaves her to a devil incarnate. She luckily escapes and years later she finds her light again, but does he recognize her? Will he see her for who she is?

“Lust. sometimes it forces people to do some of the most heinous things. That’s why it’s named as one of the seven deadly sins. It wraps you in its warmth, taunts you with its promises.”

Elijah Draydon knows what it feels like to lose your true love. After losing his wife/submissive, his life has felt empty and he has not felt that connection with another. He has a kink like no other these days and it’s one that is intense. He used to feel a connection to a girl he once knew but he felt by leaving her he made the right choice. But what happens when fate sends your past to you, will you be able to recognize it? And if so, will she succumb to your whims?

“I lean in and whisper. “Do you know why I like seeing your tears?” She shakes her head no. “Because I like making pretty toys cry. I enjoy breaking them.”

In Whisper, there are so many twists, turns, and curves. I loved how Dani incorporates the past within the text so we are caught up with how the past unfolded for Eli and Gia. Both are broken and are wanting to mend their hearts and desires. Again, just like in Kneel; Dani touches on some ‘touchy’ topics and Whisper ignites it to another degree, but yet again her writing skills are impeccable, which makes these subjects easy to overcome and a delight to embrace.

Woman! How could you end this book the way you did!? My mind & soul need more of Elijah and Gia. At least an epilogue or something. I only wish there were more chapters at the end, I felt it was cut short. I am in love with this series and as I had stated in my review of Kneel, these books will be better and better has each new book is released. Dani knows her darkness, the way she incorporates the filthy mindset of these dominant men are intriguing and addicting. As a reviewer, it makes me want more!

I can honestly say I’m a Dani Rene book junkie her books always bring that something extra they push the limits and make you feel things you never thought you’d feel even all the out of the box stuff!

When I went into Whisper book #2 in the Sins of Seven series I have no idea what had hit me, It was like reading Dani’s work for the first time all over again, I was in awe, shock, excited, heartbroken you name it. Whisper is about the life we’ve lived in the past and how it affects the present. The secrets and lies that come with such a dark past still haunts the darker present.

Eli & Gia both broken have found something in each other that comforts one another but they share a pain that demands to be felt, there is no lies, no apologizes NOTHING but raw real gut wrenching emotions.

The headspace Dani had to be in while writing whisper was like no other I can only imagine from all the twists, turns the up and downs every word hit you like a ton of bricks. Whisper is a book that you have to fully read to understand it, to get the grasp of how intense and beautiful it is! A must 5 star read.

Oh my lord this book was just so amazing and 5 plus from Dani. This is book 2 in the Sins of Seven and once again Dani blows it out of the water with her way with word's as she spins this dark and twisted tale of Eli & Giana two soul's that are broken from different circumstances yet are drawn towards each other her being younger and craving a love that only Eli can fill, but he has lost his wife and said he'd never love anyone like that again, but then he discovers Giana and knows she'll be someone that could change his mind. This was such an emotional and erotic sensual story that you can't help but feel for these characters as to what they have been through. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. This is definitely a must read if you haven't one clicked it yet you need to.

If you loved Kneel, you will devour Whisper as it captures your emotions, squeezes them to the point of explosion, and turns you inside out and back again. I read this in one sitting and will be reading both books again, probably because I’m addicted to this author’s way with words and how she makes you feel so entwined in the story that you yearn to be mastered and taken by one of the men of Sins. Can’t wait for more of the series. So wrap yourself in the dark, delicious world that is Seven Sins and enjoy every moment of its corruption.
